Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s Yard Sale time in Springfield & what’s old is once new again! But, with that limited-time label, and the added pressure of these being some highly coveted items, it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add a little Mayan fun to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm spend button, let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this dooms day trio to your Springfield….
Combo #1: Mayan Marge, Mayan Homer, Mayan God & Calendar
Combo #1 Donut Price: 300 Donuts
Combo #2: Mayan Marge & Homer (if you already have God/Calendar)
Combo #2 Donut Price: 170 Donuts
Option # 3: Mayan Marge (if you already have Homer/God/Calendar)
Option # 3 Donut Price: 90 Donuts
Dimensions: Calendar is 4×4
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Pros:
-Premium character skins (now), earns 50% more cash and xp on all tasks. (excluding Mayan God)
-Comes with a short questline, that involves BOTH Mayan Marge & Mayan Homer (with dialogue from Mayan God)
-Great new animations for Mayan Marge (and Mayan Homer has some fun ones too)
-Once Limited Time Characters/skins (from WAYYYY Back to Halloween 2012) now available again.
-Mayan Marge is a limited-time, never before released character
Cons:
-When Mayan Homer & Mayan God were originally released they were free
-Mayan God is a Non-Playable Character (NPC)
-Expensive…no matter what combo you get it’s expensive for just skins and an NPC
-Calendar does not add a bonus multiplier & it can be large and awkward to place in your town.
-Questline is a bit outdated, since it’s really meant for 2012
Final Thoughts:
I purchased it. (are you surprised?) I’m a completest, what can I say? 😉 However, this was the ONLY items in the yard sale that I didn’t currently have, so it was easy to justify. These characters are from a time when I didn’t play TSTO (I started on my iPad in very early December 2012…and started again on my Android during Whacking Day 2013), so for me it’s awesome to have these TSTO “artifacts” in my game. I love Mayan Marge, and the premium rate she earns. She’s got some fun animations & I really like the colorful skin!
However, it’s a steep price to pay for 2 skins, an NPC & a non-premium decoration. My best advice is to see what other items you might be coveting during the Yard Sale and weigh each option BEFORE you make any purchases. The “sale” ends August 4th…so you have some time to make up your mind about what you want to do. 🙂
PS…I DO think the 90 deal for Mayan Marge IS worth the donuts….if you have the other characters & the donuts to spare.
PPS…I’m on the fence about the 170 for Mayan Marge & Homer. It works out to 90 for Marge and 80 for Homer…
Now let’s take a look at the Premium tasks for Marge & Homer….as I mentioned above, the Mayan God is an NPC so he does not have tasks (he’ll just roam around your Springfield…oh and if you store the Calendar, you’ll store him too)
Mayan Marge’s Tasks:
Task | Length | Earns | Requires |
Wash Mayan Homer’s Mayan Thong | 1hr | $105, 26xp | Simpson House |
Look for a Human Sacrifice | 4hrs | $250, 70xp | Kwik-E-Mart |

Mayan Homer’s Tasks:
