Should I Spend Donuts On the Yard Sale Buildings?

Advertisements

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s Yard Sale time in Springfield & what’s old is once new again!  But, with that limited-time label, and the added pressure of these being some highly coveted items, it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on.  But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

So far we’ve broken down the pros and cons of the Mayan Bundles, the pros and cons of the character skins, the pros and cons of the Cool Combo and the pros and cons of the decorations, so now let’s take a look at the buildings of the 2014 Summer Yard Sale.

Wondering if you should add Helter Shelter or the Ultra House 2 to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm spend button, let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these buildings to your Springfield…..

Building: Helter Shelter
Donut Price: 45 donuts
Payout: $500, 45xp/ 24hrs
Unique?: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
Conform-o-Meter Points: No impact
Size: 4×6
Where Can I Place It?: Springfield, grass or pavement

Pros
-Returning item from Christmas 2013, so if you missed out on it now’s your chance to grab it.
-Decent payout
-Small dialogue with it when placed

Cons
-It was free last year, a prize won the the wheel
-No conform-o-meter impact
-No Character Interaction

Final Thought:
I wasn’t a fan of Helter Shelter when I won it at Christmas, but I placed it in my Springfield because it was free.  However, I don’t think it’s worth the donuts.  Unless you’re a completest and you won everything from Christmas 2013 but this building, I say this is a pass.  Even though they made it smaller, it’s just not worth the space it’ll take up in your Springfield.

Building: Ultra House 2
Donut Price: 90 donuts
Payout: $200, 22xp/ 8hrs
Unique?: Yes, only 1 per Springfield
Conform-o-Meter Points: +10 Indolence
Size: 8×9
Where Can I Place It?: Springfield, grass or pavement

Pros
-Returning item from Halloween 2013, so if you missed out on it now’s your chance to grab it.
-Decent payout
-Small dialogue with it when placed
-Another house for your residential area
-Cool design, looks great with Frink’s Lab

Cons
-It was free last year, a prize won if you collected enough GOO
-No Character Interaction
-Last year after you won the Ultra House it gave you the option to purchase Kodos.  That option does not appear with this Ultra House re-release.

Final Thought
This is a 80-20 split for me…with 80% in the pass on it.  I do have the Ultra House in my Springfield & I was a fan of it when I won it back during Halloween.  It looks really cool in Springfield & I’m glad I have it, but I just don’t think it’s worth the donut price.  90 donuts is a lot to spend for a house that has no character interaction.  So, again, unless you have everything from Halloween but this house…this might be one you want to pass on.  Unless of course the coolness factor of the house outweighs the price in your mind…

My best advice for ALL of the items in the Yard Sale,  is to see what other items you might be coveting during the Yard Sale and weigh each option BEFORE you make any purchases.  The “sale” ends August 4th…so you have some time to make up your mind about what you want to do.  🙂

So there you have it my Tapping Friends…the complete Should I Buy Guide for all the buildings of the 2014 Yard Sale.  What do YOU think of the buildings?  Will you be making the purchases or do you already have them  from when they were first released?  Anything you’re excited about seeing?  Sound off in the comments below you know we LOVE hearing from you!
