Should I Spend Donuts on Lurleen and the Beer -n- Brawl?

Advertisements

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

With the new arrival of Level 49 I realized I never completed a Should I Buy for Lurleen and the Beer -n- Brawl!  Lurleen arrived in Springfield via the Level 48 update, right in the middle of Christmas and was one of the more requested characters in recent TSTO history (especially from our very own Wookiee).  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this singer is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Lurleen Lumpkin to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this former country superstar to YOUR Springfield!

Building/Decoration: Beer -N- Brawl
Character: Lurleen Lumpkin
Donut Price: 140 donuts
Dimensions: 4×8
Earns:
$175, 18xp/6hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Gluttony +10

Pros:
-Comes with a great quest line
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character
-Pretty decent payout on the building, great way to generate some extra cash in your town.
-Beer -N- Brawl has a fun look to it, would go nice in a club/bar district (or right next to Classy Girls)
-Lurleen will use the Beer -N-Brawl
-Lurleen will have a 12hr Task at Open Air Stage

Cons:
-No Character Interaction after questline.
-Not a main Simpson character, only appeared in a few shows.
-Not voiced
-One of her outdoor tasks requires the BBQ Pit & she’s facing to the side or back, so you can’t see her face clearly when doing the task
-No Character interaction, outside of Lurleen, with the Beer -N- Brawl after questlin

Final Thought:
Premium Take:
Lurleen is a highly requested character so it’s no wonder she’s premium (all of the other highly requested ones have been too, just look at Crazy Cat Lady).  As a premium player this isn’t a bad investment.  The Beer-N-Brawl adds to your Gluttony rating (always nice to have) and Lurleen has some fun tasks.  Also, it’s a great questline.  140 donuts is a fair price for the combo, although I think it would be better if it were the same price as Don (130 donuts).  However, this is one I’ve purchased in my town…I love having another female in Springfield!

Freemium Take:
I still think this is a great character/building combo in the game.  It’s an ok price and comform-o-meter payout.  However, this is one I would hold off on for now.  Although she has a fun questline, Lurleen is not voiced & there’s really no rush to get her.  Especially with the possibility of an Event hitting soon, it’s better to save those donuts for limited-time items.  This is one character I will say you can put on your list of “nice to have”, but it’s not a “must buy” at least not now.  So save those precious donuts! 🙂

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I have purchased Lurleen, although I waited until about a month after she arrived to do so.  However, this is NOT a Limited-Time Item so take your time with your thought process.  Lurleen will still be there in a few weeks.  So if you’re on the fence or worried about saving up your donuts relax..there’s no rush to get her.

Lurleen’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Mail Alimony Cheques 1hr $105, 26xp Kwik-E-Mart
Record a Demo 4hrs $260, 70xp Brown House
Write a Song 8hrs $420, 105xp Beer N Brawl
Play Country Guitar 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside
Barbecue Some Road Kill 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Outside

What are your thoughts on Lurleen and the Beer-N-Brawl?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring her to your Springfield (or did you already)? Where have you placed the Beer-N-Brawl in your town?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
