Should I Spend Donuts on the Returning Items in the Holiday Bazaar Round 1?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

There’s nothing quite as beautiful as Springfield in the snow, is there? Yes, there’s no denying that it’s officially Winter in our pocket-sized towns as the 2017 Holiday Event blew into our towns with a major cold front!  Of course, while the town is frosty cold the store is hot, hot, hot…and loaded with premium items from Christmases past tempting us to spend our sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

This time around EA has added a Holiday Bazaar section of the store, an area FULL of rebated (and not rebated) items from holidays (and some other events) past.  If you’re not sure how to find the Holiday Bazaar in your store check out this postWondering if you should add any of these throwback items to your Springfield?  Let’s check it out…

Note: There will be 3 rounds of the Holiday Bazaar.  Right now the timer on these items is showing that they will leave stores on Jan 2nd.  HOWEVER…the next round will be added to the store on the 22nd.  So if you’re thinking about buying any of these items you may want to do so before the next round hits…just in case.

Item: Egg Nog Bar
Cost:
60 Donuts, 50 Donut Rebate, NET 10 Donuts
Earns: $105,11xp/3hrs
Previous Post: Egg Nog Bar
What Does It Do :
Just a “building”
My Opinion On It Now:
Doesn’t do a whole heck of a lot…BUT it’s only 10 donuts and from Christmas 2013.  I’d spend the donuts for the classic building.

Item: Grampa Snowman
Cost:
20 Donuts, 10 Donut Rebate, NET 10 Donuts
Earns: .50% bonus on cash and XP
Previous Post: Grampa Snowman
What Does It Do :
Decoration, that only looks correct when the snow is in Springfield.  Otherwise it’s a melted mess.
My Opinion On It Now:
If you missed out on him before now’s your chance to grab it for only 10 donuts…not bad.

Item: Elf Home
Cost:
 60 Donuts
Earns: $260, 26xp/10hrs PLUS 2.5% bonus on cash and XP
What Does It Do : Just a building
My Opinion On It Now:
Not bad for something that pays out cash and XP bonus, plus it has a relatively small footprint.  However, if donuts are hard to come by for you, I’d pass.  Save them for something betting down the line

Item: Rigellian Tribal Hut
Cost:
20 Donuts, 10 Donut Rebate, NET 10 Donuts
Earns: $75,7xp/3hrs
What Does It Do : Just a building

Not bad for 10 donuts.  But if you don’t have a use for it…pass.

170 Donuts, 70 Donut Rebate, NET 100 Donuts
Earns: $135,15xp/4hrs PLUS 4.5% bonus on cash and XP
Previous Post: Pagan Bonfire
What Does It Do:
Simpson family has a task there
My Opinion On It Now:
Not a bad price for all you get with it….BUT i’d still pass on.  It wasn’t a big fan then & I’m still not now

Item: Rigellian Shrub
Cost:
5 Donuts
Earns: Nothing
What Does It Do: Just a decoration
My Opinion On It Now:
I’d pass. Not worth spending the donuts

Item: Festive Trashcan Fire
Cost:
3 Donuts, 2 Donut Rebate, NET 1 donut.
Earns: nada
Previous Post: Trashcan Fire
What Does It Do:
Animated fire
My Opinion On It Now:
Meh, it’s 1 donut.  Hard to have an opinion on something that costs 1 donut.

Item: The Wiccans
Cost:
110 Donuts, 20 Donut Rebate, NET 90 Donuts.
Earns: 1 character, but payout is triple
Previous Post: Wiccans
What Does It Do:
Full character(s).  3 Characters, but act as 1.  (like Sheri and Teri)
My Opinion On It Now:
Way cheaper during Black Friday…but 90 donuts for triple paying character isn’t bad.  I’m in the meh column with this one

Item: Fancy Igloo
Cost:
5 Donuts
Earns: .50% Bonus no cash and XP
Previous Post: Fancy Igloo
What Does It Do:
It’s an igloo, what do Igloos do?
My Opinion On It Now:
Meh.  5 Donuts isn’t bad for bonus % paid (20 donuts (4 Igloos) would get you a 2% bonus), but the footprint is pretty large.  I’m firmly in the meh column on this one.

Item: Medium Iceberg
Cost:
15 Donuts, 5 Donut Rebate, NET 10 donuts
Earns: .50% Bonus no cash and XP
Previous Post: Medium Iceberg
What Does It Do:
Animated when tapped. Ocean only
My Opinion On It Now:
Meh.  Not a big fan of this one. Another one for the meh column

Earns: 2% Bonus on cash and XP
Previous Post: Snowball II

My Opinion On It Now:
If you’re a bonus % collector, this is your best buy.

Item: Pagan Fence
Cost:
1 Donut
Earns: .05% bonus on cash and XP
What Does It Do:
It’s a fence, it fences stuff
My Opinion On It Now:
It’s a fence, and it’s a donut….do you really need my opinion on this one?

Item: Small Pagan Tent
Cost:
5 Donuts
What Does It Do:
 It’s a tent
My Opinion On It Now:
Lame.  Pass

Item: Cult Flying Saucer
Cost:
10 Donuts

Classic episode, if you have fond memories pick it up.  Otherwise pass.

What Does It Do:
 It’s a chalk outline….nothing.
My Opinion On It Now:
