Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Hey there all you Lucky Charms!

Bouncing by just for the fun of it to give you a lil change of subject for the day. Today in the U.S.A. is March 17th aka St. Patrick’s Day. Where many put on some kind of Green Colored Clothing, participate in some kind of Green Ale Drinking, and make a feast of food they may not normally eat. (At least that’s how a lot of my friends do it. Lol.)

Now, I know that those of you closer to the actual Holiday origination have issue with those of us on the “other side of the pond” calling it St. Pat’s or St. Patty’s. So here is a quick rundown as to why. The name Patrick shortened is Pat for us. Patricia shortened is Patty, but I have also seen Patty used for Patrick as well. This being instilled in our brains since childhood has made it so many look at the name and use the standard abbreviation of what WE are used to. Just think of many different spellings of a word depending on culture and pronunciation. Color/Colour, Grey/Gray, Herb/Herb (I know some of you pronounce the H while others do not). Just keep in mind it is not meant in harm or as an insult, just a reflection of just how different and unique each of us are. It is what makes each of us the amazing people we are, because we are different. So don’t take things TOO seriously when someone is just speaking as they were taught. We do not mean to offend at all. In then end, it is much funner to just go grab a pint together… right? 😉

For those that would like a bit more reading and/or fun on St. Patrick’s Day, hop on over to the History Channels run down of it all. (A LOT of great info there.)

Anywho, no matter how YOU say it or Celebrate it… I want to know how YOU spend a Holiday such as this one. What do YOU do? Any kind of traditions? Bonus points for those that post a pic in full on traditional clothing. 😉  (Love a guy in a kilt.)
