Where Did THAT Come From – Monty Moneybags

Advertisements

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

This post I will be going over the Origin of the Monty Moneybags skin. Introduced into our games with Level 52, this skin is EA’s new super expensive and time intensive item for your game enjoyment.  ALissa highlighted all that stuff in this post if you need a refresher.  But why is Monty wearing a vest made out of an animal?  Where does it come from in The Simpsons? Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.

“Two Dozen and One Greyhounds” (S6:E20)

Oh yeah!  Mr. Burns finally got his fancy vest!  Of course, not everyone watches every episode of the Best. Show. Ever. but that’s where fuzzball’s like me earn their keep.  In this episode, rhinos are loose on the street, it’s spanking season and Santa’s Little Helper is pent up with way too much energy?  Whatever could be the problem?  Something’s really wrong and things go too far when he digs up the backyard (always laugh at the Cat Stevens album featuring The Streak) and runs off with the precious cable TV cable.

He’s wild, destructive and has little or no respect for authority.  The clerk at the Springfield Pet Shop figures out the problem using a canine mild meld but all the fancy doodads the family buys don’t work.  SLH runs away to the greyhound racing track where they found him (“Think of them as little horses” lol).  Homer ends up betting on She’s The Fastest but SLH chases her down and we discover what was up with all his frustration.  “It looks like he’s trying to jump over but he can’t quite make it.  C’mon boy, you can do it!”

The family ends up with a second dog when the Rich Texan gives away SLH’s new girlfriend.  “Once they fall in love, they lose their racing spirit.”  The new couple wander Springfield in love, laugh at a wrinkled dog and share a Lady & The Tramp moment at Luigi’s.  As stories usually go when and  a Mommy and Daddy love eachother very much, we get babies added to the mix, 25 to be precise… that’s a lot of greyhound puppies.

So now that they have an army of dogs, what should they do with Rover, Fido, Rex, Spot, Rover II, Fido II, Rex II, Cleo, Dave, Jay, Paul, Branford, Dave II, Jay II, Paul II, Branford II, Sleepy, Dopey, Grumpy, Donner, Blitzen, Grumpy II, King, Queene, Prince, and The Puppy Formerly Known as Prince? (If you count that’s actually 26 puppies btw).  They eat up all the socks and all of Homer’s potato chips.  They finally have to go when they ruin dinner with Reverend Lovejoy, Homer’s old army drill sergeant and an IRS auditor.

In comes Burns to adopt all the puppies when they show they don’t like being split up.  Homer won’t let Burns have the dogs but he steals them anyways, right behind their backs, literally.  Bart & Lisa head to Burns Manor to get them back but find Boo-urns giving them a bath lovingly.  Maybe they were wrong?  Or maybe not… Burns breaks into song…

Some men hunt for sport, others hunt for food,

The only thing I’m hunting for, is an outfit that looks good…

See my vest, see my vest, made from real gorilla chest,

Feel this sweater, there’s no better than authentic Irish setter.

See this hat, ’twas my cat, my evening wear – vampire bat,

These white slippers are albino African endangered rhino.

Grizzly bear underwear, turtles’ necks, I’ve got my share,

Beret of poodle, on my noodle it shall rest.

Try my red robin suit, it comes one breast or two,

See my vest, see my vest, see my vest.

Like my loafers? Former gophers – It was that or skin my chauffeurs,

But a greyhound fur tuxedo would be best,

So let’s prepare these dogs,

Nanny:

Kill two for matching clogs.

Mr. Burns:

See my vest, see my vest,

Oh please, won’t you see my vest!

Definitely a catchy song but something must be done before the puppies are turned into a tuxedo.  The kids try to save the 24 dogs set for an appointment with the fashion knife (Burns liked little Monty cuz he could stand up) and succeed when all the puppies stand up.  In the end, Burns falls in love with all 25 Rory Calhouns.  Anyone whose seen 101 Dalmations knew it had to end happily but in this story the happy ending is for Cruella de Burns. His dogs turn out to be million dollar champion dog racers… the end.

So there’s the origin for Monty’s new costume and the lyrics to the song you’ve probably seen peppered throughout the comments.  Are you working towards the costume yet?  Like it’s addition in the game?  Sound off below and happy money earning while plant squishing and crafting.

TTFN… Wookiee out!
