Where Did THAT Come From – Springy

Hey hey tap ballers! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So with the Tap Ball Event, all sorts of new stuff has appeared in our games. The third prize in Act II is Springy… a spring waving an abbreviated Olympic flag and US flag… weid, huh? Of course, strange items kind of like a calling card for TSTO but what does a spring have to do with Tap Ball and the Best. Show. Ever.?  When and where did it actually appear? Let’s check out the Simpsons TV Series to find out.

The International Olympic Committee is looking for the next location for the Games. The delegates all argue over the best spot (I like Mo-town myself lol) but are swayed when they hear a letter from little Lisa Simpson. She just wanted the torch to pass by but she won the whole enchilada. Channel 6 sponsors a contest to find the mascot for the games and Homer decides to enter. His first attempt is Abby the Olympic Tabby.

Knowing his family would hate his first attempt, he also came up with Springy, the Springfield Spring. “It’s fun for the whole family and the ends are razor sharp to protect our nation and its interests.”

The town welcomes the Olympic Committee after cleaning up the whole town. They even extinguish the Tire Fire. Springy is unveiled as the official Springfield mascot. Ciggy was a runner-up. Leave it to Marge’s chain smoking sisters to use Laramie’s in their design.

“Children, children, future, future. Are you ready for the children whoa whoa whoa, the future is a-comin hey hey hey, children, children, future, future, children, children, children are the future… KIDS!” Springfield Elelmentary seals the deal with the Committee with that inspired song. Unfortunately, Bart’s international comedy stylings aren’t well received ruining Springfield’s chances at the Olympic Games.

Oh well… maybe our town aren’t classy enough for the Olympics but the third Act II prize can be a reminder of that one time we almost were… almost. What do you think of Springy? Ready for children to be the future? Sound off and keep on tapping in the free world.
