We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Best THOH Segment Bracket Battle.
Below you’ll find all 81 beloved THOH segments that will have aired in the first 600 episodes of The Simpsons up to and including this seasons’ THOH XXVII. The segments have been organized into three conferences based on their sequential appearance in each THOH anthology: first, second, or third segment. The segments will battle each other in four rounds of head-to-head-to-head matchups, that we hope produce the most debate in the comments below. We’ll do our best to convince you of each segments’ merits, but it’s ultimately up to you. Twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays over the next three weeks, we’ll post the matchups and your votes over the next 48 hours will determine which segments advance to the next round, until we’ve crowned “The Best THOH Segment” on Monday October 31st.
Today, we begin the fourth and FINAL Voting for TSTO Addicts’ Best THOH Segment Bracket Battle to crown our Segment Champion! Details about this Bracket Battle can be found at Addicts Bracket Challenge: Best THOH Segment Round 1, Part 1
Early in Round 1, The Genesis Tub beat House of Whacks by a record small margin of just 13 votes. That record has fallen again; as Round 3 resulted is some of the closest matchups in TSTO Addicts’ Bracket Battle history.
First Segment Conference
THOH V – The Shinning (49%) def. THOH IV – The Devil and Homer Simpson (34%) and THOH – Bad Dream House (17%)
The best opening segment, as voted by you, comes to us from THOH V. “The Shinning” comfortably won another matchup with nearly half the votes.
Second Segment Conference
THOH V – Time and Punishment (38%) def. THOH VI – Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace (36%) and THOH IV – Terror at 5 ½ Feet (26%)
THOH V also produced the best middle segment. Though this time “Time and Punishment” barely edged out “Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace” by just 17 votes.
Third Segment Conference
THOH VII – Citizen Kang (34%) def. THOH – The Raven (33%) and THOH V – Nightmare Cafeteria (32%)
THOH V missed out on the ‘perfect bracket’, as the title of best closing segment went to THOH VII. In the closest vote ever, “Citizen Kang” beat “The Raven” by a mere 12 votes (new record). “Nightmare Cafeteria” was just 10 votes behind “The Raven”, and 22 votes behind “Citizen Kang”.
