Where Did THAT Come From- Death

Advertisements

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

In this post I will be going over the Origin of DeathWhy is he in our games? What does he have to do with Halloween? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.

Death was brought into our games as the Final Personal Prize we could earn in Act 2 Halloween 2016 Event.

He has shown up in a few episodes such as these…

Season 5, Episode 5: Treehouse of Horror IV (Devil and Homer Simpson)
During Homer’s trial against Devil Flanders for Homer’s Soul, we can see Death as the Judge

Season 8, Episode 1: Treehouse of Horror VII
This episode opens up to the Couch Gag with Death waiting on the couch for the Simpsons. They all fall to his feet and he uses them as a foot rest.

But the one in our game now is more based on this episode…

Season 15, Episode 1: Treehouse of Horror XIV (Reaper Madness)

The Simpson Family is just hanging out in the frontroom on the couch when they hear a knock at the door. Homer answers it to find Death. He promptly closes the door on him. Death smashes through the door and lets them know he is there for Bart.

Then a silly “Benny Hill” chase scene ensues all over the Simpsons Home. While running through the dining area, Bart knocks over a chair and Death trips on it. He is so upset he throws his Reaper and hooks Bart to the wall. Bart pleads for Death to take someone else, like Milhouse.

Homer isn’t having it. Homer smashes Death on the head with a Bowling Ball… for Snowball I & II… and JFK. It knocks the jaw off of Death as he falls to the ground. The Paper with Barts name goes up in flames. Lisa points out this is not a good thing, Homer has just removed Death from the world. Now they’ll NEVER cancel the Jim Belushi show… NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!!!!!

Cut to all over Springfield where Death is no longer happening. Like as Mobsters are trying to take out Frankie the Squealer, but he just won’t die. Moe’s attempt to hang himself just leaves him there dangling from his noose. Back at the Simpsons Homer is desperately trying to get Death to come back to … well… life.

Marge tells Homer it is garbage day and to just take Death out with the trash. Homer dumps the bones out of the Cloak and into the waste bins. However Homer is intrigued with the soft feel to the Cloak and decides to put it on. What Homer does not realize is that he is know himself becoming Death.

He continues on as Death, fullfilling his requirements to take out others… like poor Jasper who preferred the other guy. He even goes to Lisa’s “Parent Day” to show all the kids how he Reaps a Soul. He even uses it to clear a path to better seats at the Ball Game for him and Bart. All seems to be going well, until Marge is the next to show up on the list. Homer does what he has to do. He takes the lifeless body to the top of the Mountain and begs God to release him from being Death, which is granted. God raises Marge to the Heavens… wait a minute, that’s not Marge… that’s her fat sister Selma… or is it Patty? Looks like Homer got away with it.

There you have it, a Treehouse of Horrors episode drops yet another cool item into our silly games for our Halloween cravings.

Did you get Death? What do you think of him? Did you remember this episode? Ever wonder what it would be like if there was no Death… at all? Let us know.
