Gil’s Latest Gimmick: Details and Should You Buy Vicki Valentine

Advertisements

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ol’ Gil is back in Springfield.  He returned to Springfield yesterday with the arrival of the Love, Springfieldian Style event…which is appropriate because he’s the salesman we love to hate.  Anyway, Gil naturally had another ‘deal” for us.  What’s the latest gimmick he’s peddling? Well, this time around he’s offering up the grown-up child star…Vicki Valentine.

So let’s break down the details of this latest offer and determine if you should spend your donuts to bring this tappa, tappa, tappin’ star to Springfield….

So when you first get into Springfield (well after you’ve launched the event stuff…of course) you’ll see Gil waving his arms around…just begging you to tap on him…

If you tap on him you’ll see…

Gil: Hey folks! Ol’ Gil here, ready to sell you a star plucked right out of the sky!
Frink: I’ll take it!  What kind of starr is it?  Proto, Red Giant, White Dwarf, Neutron-
Gil: I oversold this.  It’s a former Hollywood star.  You know, like in the moving pictures.
Frink: I see.  Well then, you’ve just made one very unsatisfied customer.

At which point you’ll see his latest gimmick…

If you refuse…

Gil: Why can’t I close this deal?  Ol’ Gil could use the money for another one of those hot baths.  Or, any kind of entertainment other than watching a VHS of “Hell Hath No Lil’ Vicki” for the seventh time today.

If you accept…

Gil: Finally, I’m rid of the Lil’ Vicki Valentine brand. Now if only I could get some celebrity endorsement deal done, that might make selling these celebrities way easier in the future.  But that’s a problem for another Gil.  I mean day.

Now real quick…if you refuse the offer will go back in the store.  It will be there…

This Deal Ends January 30th

Final Thought
Vicki Valentine is meant to be the Simpsons version of Shirley Temple (loosely based of course).  Shirley Temple is the one celebrity that Riley (the Tiny Addict) is most compared to in our family…because of her curls.  So I’ve got a soft spot for Shirley Temple (therefore I’m a little biased on this one)…besides who doesn’t love the good ship lollipop?

Premium:
As I said above, I like Vicki.  Not only for the Shirley Temple aspect but because she’ll help with the entire event and she’s a fun character.  She’s a better buy (even though more expensive) than Samantha, and her episode is where the Tappa, Tappa, Tappa line comes from…you know the Addicts mantra.  Besides the price tag, what’s not to love for premium players?

Freemium:
So this event is unique in that there are 3 characters (2 options) that will earn event currency for the entire event.  Vicki is one of them, Ned’s parents are the other option.  If you’re stuck between two I’d go with Ned’s parents.  They’re cheaper and there’s two of them at that price point.  Vicki is fun, but when your donuts are limited you need to be a little more practical.  So premium players should pass…for now.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I think I’ll be taking this deal.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Remember, there’s a good chance this may come back in a future Mystery Box.  It’s happened a few times now.  If you buy it there’s a good chance it’ll come back at a much lower price and you’ll be mad about it, if you don’t buy it and want it there’s always a chance it may not come back.  So the gamble is up to you to take…
