Game of Games Week 1 Is Live! (Updated and Complete)

Advertisements

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

After 4 months we FINALLY have a new “major” event available in TSTO.  I say  “major” because it’s not a mini-event, but it’s not your typical main event either.  We’re back to multi-events for this one.  So love them, or hate them, they’re here to stay at least (likely) through the end of the year.

You can find overall spoilers about the event here, direct from EA. This event is a spoof on E3, which happened yesterday.  ICYMI you can check out The Simpsons Panel at E3 last night here

Anywho….things kick off with 6s tasks for Homer, Lisa, and Bart.  That first round is followed by another round of 6s tasks for Lisa and Bart. This then kicks off the Game of Games Multi-Event!

**For part 1 you’ll need to send Bart on a 4hr task and collect 200 VIP passes.  To collect passes you can send: Bart, Lisa, Homer, Marge, Milhouse, Nelson, Martin, Ralph, Sophie, and Blocko Angelica Button (new premium character)**

As always, I’m going to continue to update this post as I run through things so keep checking back…It’s been a while since a large event hit, we’re a bit rusty around here 😉

As covered, this event is another multi-event.  Following the same structure and style as the Christmas 2018 and Valentine’s Day 2019 events.  Here are some words from EA about the Multi-Event for this event:

Game of Games utilizes the same structure as our Love, Springfieldian Style update – the Multi-Event.
Multi-Events consist of multiple short acts, allowing for a greater breadth and variety of content and
themes. Multi-Events contain no crafting or friend actions, instead focusing on the unlocking of items
from each act’s prize track, similar to Mini-Events.
In the case of Game of Games, the event consists of four acts. One act unlocks per week throughout the
event and is then available for players to complete until the entire event concludes. This is
accomplishable because the characters players will need to send on jobs to earn event currencies are
different week-to-week.

So basically, the prizes for this event follow the same questline format to unlock as our regular mini-events do.

Just like Christmas and Valentine’s Day before it, this is not your typical Major Event.  And there are pros and cons to that, and everyone will find their own pros and cons.  And some people’s pro will be someone else’s con.

All I ask is that you have an open mind, and reserve judgment until we’re into the event.  It’s 4 weeks long (and remember for the past few years we’ve been complaining that events that are 6 weeks plus are just too long).  It should be fairly easy to complete.  You’ll unlock a bunch of new prizes.  No crafting to grind through.  Just have some good old fashioned TSTO fun.  And, as long as you don’t rush things, you won’t get bored because it’ll change each week!

Plus keep in mind, this is the 3rd, or maybe even the 4th, major event format change from EA over the history of TSTO.  And every time they do a format change people complain. (I’m old enough to remember when they changed from the 1 prize track format to the 3 prize track format and folks lost their minds…)

Here’s EA’s synopsis for Act 1:

Bart and Lisa win passes to this year’s E4 Game Expo and Game of Games Esport contest but Homer
loses them when he tries to use them to get into Moe’s VIP section. Homer tries to get the passes back,
but Moe has already sold them for profit.

The kids must find another way to get in and register for the Game of Games. The kids take part in a
scavenger hunt hosted by Comic Book Guy with E4 passes as the grand prize. Bart is vicorous and wins
two E4 passes, one of which he gives to Lisa so they can both attend E4. Once they get to the expo, they
find out that they need to be accompanied by an adult, so Bart goes off to find the one adult in town
that can supervise the kids, The Detonator!

As I stated above, the initial quests are 6s tasks for Homer, Bart, and Lisa. (followed by another round of 6s tasks for just Bart and Lisa).  Once completed you’ll start the EA No Access Pass questline, which is the week 1 story to follow.  This is how you’ll unlock the Week 1 (Act 1) prizes…

Game of Games Pt. 1
Auto starts

Lisa: Homer, what did you do with our passes to E4?
Bart: Yeah, Dad, we gave them to you because you’re the only one with a neck fat enough to hang all the lanyards around.
Homer: Moe said if I gave them to him, I could use his VIP section.
Marge: Moe’s “VIP section” is just the broom closet where he puts his empty kegs.
Homer: Fine, I’ll get your passes back. And by the way, no keg is empty if you suck on it hard enough.
6s Tasks for Bart, Homer & Lisa
Moe: Sorry pal. I already sold those E4 passes to some shadowy underworld figures. I would’ve sold them to well-lit overworld figures, but I never meet anyone like that!
Homer: Moe, I need those badges back. I’m facing a man’s worst nightmare: angry, resentful children.
Moe: I’ll do what I can. But it’s gonna cost ya.
Homer: I’ll pay you five coupons for Moe’s VIP Room.
Moe: That worthless crap? I need money.

Game of Games Pt. 2
Auto starts

Homer: I took care of everything. Moe is going to find the E4 passes. What a pal!
Bart: What does he get in return?
Homer: I have to drive him anywhere he wants to go for the next forty years!
Lisa: Sounds like you need better friends, Dad.
Maggie: *suck* *suck*
Homer: Thank you, Maggie. At least someone appreciates me in this house.
6s task for Lisa and Bart
Marge: I appreciate you, Homie.
Homer: That’s all a man needs to hear, honey.
Marge: But you need to find a way to get the kids into E4.
Homer: Sorry, didn’t hear you.

And this triggers the entire story premise for each act…

(and yes, just like I did for the past 2 multi-events, I’ll be posting full dialogue for this one before each week is over)

Now let’s talk about what’s included…

DO NOT FORGET TO SCROLL UP AND DOWN IN THE TASK BOXES (PICTURED ABOVE) TO BE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL TASKS FOR EACH PART.

Burns Dragon and Pile of Treasure- 199 Donuts

Blocko Store- 30 Donuts

Land Tiles

Because I know I’ll be asked…as of right now I don’t see anything awarding Land Tiles.  Nor do I see the Golden Goose Realty coming back with this event.

This may be corrected with a patch during this event, but as of right now I don’t see a way of getting more land with this event.

I’m sure GGR will come back at some point, just have to wait it out a little longer.

And that’s it my friends.  The details of week one of the Game of Games.
