Where Did THAT Come From – Prairie Maggie (and Frontier Water Tower?)

Advertisements

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

Howdy and Yeehaw Cowboy and Cowgirleenos! How in tarnation are y’all doing? Liking the 2016 TSTO Wild West Event? It’s Act Three in this darn-tootin’ new event and with every new imagining by the designers comes new items. This of course means the wild gang here at Addicts gets to dive into the Best. Show. Ever. and find new critters like the outlaws they are. For this post, I checked out the wanted posters and decided to ride down the origins for Prairie Maggie… a premium skin for 65 donuts. Woo hoo! Maggie’s already getting love in the game! But when did she dress all old timey? Why does she play with aminals? Let’s check out the TV series to find out.

“Simpsons Tall Tales” (S12:E21)

In one of those episodes where they tell three stories based on a theme (made famous by the Halloween episodes), this one focuses on American Tall Tales. Our favorite family has won a contest to go to Delaware but after Homer refuses to pay a five dollar airport tax, they have to resort to “riding the rails.”

They meet a singing hobo (not a stabbing hobo) who regales them with tales. Paul Bunyan is first. The water tower the townsfolk use to make flapjacks looks a lot like our new water tower.  It’s a little shorter but I’m having fun pretending the one in my town can make delicious pancakes.

The next tall tale in the episode comes after an awkward hobo sponge bath. It’s the tale of Connie Appleseed. The Simpson family is among a wagon train (anyone besides me nostalgic for the old school Oregon Trail game here?).

Maggie looks super cute in her Wild West duds.

The end of this episode also features a water tower in a modern railyard.

Anyhoo… that’s the origin of Maggie’s new outfit but you may be wondering about her outdoor tasks with animals that are all the rage currently. For these we have to head to “Puffless” (S27:E3). There’s a whole episode recap here but for those who don’t want to read it, the long and short is that this episode was divided into two plots. One where Patty and Selma try to quit smoking after learning their father died of lung cancer (meh) and one involving Maggie and animal friends (woohoo!).

No eagle flying by Maggie per se but it does make me think of my favorite moment from “Homer Scissorhands” (S22:E20).

Yes… this skin for Maggie makes me celebrate that sometimes everything comes up Milhouse. What do you think of the skin? Did you buy it? Like the animations? Want Alissa to dress up her own Baby Maggie in a cute outfit like this?  Sound off in the comments and happy classy tapping. I’m off to soar on the wings of eagles.

TTFN… Wookiee out!
