Where Did THAT Come From – Springfield of Tomorrow Sign, Parcology, Vacation on Venus Sign, Mushroom Office Building, Atomic Hul-a Hoop, Global Housing, Office Towers & Tomorrow’s Costington’s

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

By Hawking’s chair and wowza! The 2016 TSTO SciFi Event has just begun and already there’s so much to wow a fuzzball. Stephen Hawking, black holes, multidimensional visitors, and lots of sciencey futuristic stuff to figure out where to put in our games. I’m loving this like a nerd in a space rock candy store but I know a lot of this new stuff might have you wondering just where the heck it all comes from. Well no fears inter-quantum dimensional guys and gals, that’s where this walking carpet earns his bread and butter (seriously, that’s all I’m paid in lol). For this dimension of origin stories, we’ll be looking at:

Springfield of Tomorrow Sign – premium deco for 35 donuts, earns 1%
Parcology – Level 12 Craftable
Vacation on Venus Sign – Level 1 Craftable
Mushroom Office Building – Level 7 Craftable
Atomic Hul-a Hoop – Level 5 Craftable
Office Towers – Level 17 Craftable
Tomorrow’s Costington’s – Level 16 Craftable

To find this smörgåsbord of goodness, we head off to “Postcards from the Wedge” (S21:E14). Right after the couch gag, the episode kicks right off into showing the Springfield of Tomorrow and we see the lettering which is now a sign in our towns. That domed park in the background looks a lot like Parcology to me.

Initially the future isn’t looking so bright as we see different ways Springfielders can get around town. There’s “Bus Stop Bill caught out in the rain” and Subway Sam “packed like a tuna on the Springfield Metro Line.”

But have no fear for the future friends… there’s a safer way to get to work. Motor Car Mel cruises 130 mph to work in a Plutonium Car on the Atomic Hula Hoop aka the “spacious skyway of tomorrow.” The Office Towers are right there to the left of it, global housing to the right.

Mel even passes the Vacation to Venus Billboard. That certainly looks like the Mushroom Office Building too.

The Costington’s of Tomorrow shows up too.

It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow and it’s in TSTO today. All of this goodness brought to you by a film shown to Bart’s classroom by Mrs. Krabappel. She sums it all up quite nicely. “Well that concludes, I don’t really know what that was.”

So there you go… an educational film in the show that now brought us new items in the 2016 TSTO SciFi Event. Best part is most of them are free provided you earn enough robot parts. For more on crafting, check out this post. WHat do you think of all of it? Did you remember this little film? Sound off in the comments… if you see Tom Morrow, tell him I said hi.

TTFN… Wookiee out!
