Where Did THAT Come From – Weiner Wall & Lava Machine

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

Wowza… the 2017 Secret Agent Simpsons Event is in full effect and we’re all busy collecting intel, crafting subversive surveillance items, and tapa-tapa-tapping secret agents and spies in a covert palooza all about Globex, the EPA, GHOST, and the CIA. It’s enough to make me want to watch Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Don Adams, and Rowan Atkinson on repeat. Hooray for new ideas in TSTO. Just like the xxth Bond movie, life lessons as an adult, or an intelligence collection mission, I’m sure a lot of us never saw this coming. Of course, with any new event, there’s always an inevitable tapping on my attic floor from Alissa to get started on writing about the origins for it all. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. to do just that. For this round of origins, we’ll be taking a look at two items from the 2017 Secret Simpsons Event  that I paired together for no other reason than the title of the post made me laugh. Truly a diabolical combination.

Weiner Wall – Level 10 Crafting Prize
Lava Machine – 3rd Act Two prize for 25,850 personal intel

First we head to “Bart the Genius” (S1:E2). Of all the items in the 2017 Secret Simpsons Event, the Weiner Wall is by far my favorite because it hails from this amazing episode from the infancy of the Best. Show. Ever. In fairness, it may be the young eight-year-old fuzzball in me who never grew up and loves the word weiner but this was the one craftable I had to get. Bart may or may not have ever been a genius at school but his graffiti skills are nothing short of it. Early on in this episode that I always think of as the Kwyjibo episode we see the weiner wall in all its glory.

Also gotta love Martin being a tattle-tale right from the beginning and debating the spelling of weiner. Like Bart I prefer the “acceptable ethnic variant.”

The other item hails from “Treehouse of Horror XXVII” (S28:E4) in the Moefinger Segment. In this Kingsman spoof, Bart finds out that Moe and the barflies plus Gil, Willie, Uter, and Dr. Marvin Monroe were actually super secret agents this whole time. Since his Dad died, it’s up to Bart to take over the family job.

While the spies are infiltrating a free Steely Dan concert at Duff Stadium sponsored by REMOH Industries, the gang discovers that Homer has become a bad guy. His plan is to make the world surrender to him with his lava machine and then celebrate with the world’s beer supply which he has cornered the market on.

Of course Bart has to stop him and there’s one heck of a bloody tribute to an equally bloody scene from the movie this parodies. The end. That’s really it. The episode did end with a James Bond parody song as a tribute to reaching 600 episodes.

So there you go… an item from the second episode in the very first season and then another from the 600th; both brought to digital reality in our games. What do you think of them? Did the title make you laugh or do I need to grow up? Did you remember the episodes? Drop your thoughts in the comments and happy covert tapping friends.
