Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Murky water, tress have changed colors, and leaves are blowing in Springfield, that can only mean one thing…the annual Treehouse of Horror update is upon us! Yes, with this annual event we never know if we’ll get a trick or a treat, if it’ll be Halloween-y or spoof-y…but it arrives in our pocket-sized towns nonetheless year after year. And this year, marks the 10th…yes the TENTH…Treehouse of Horror update in TSTO. So what does EA have in store for us this year? Dinosaurs! In true Treehouse of Horror spoof style. As always, loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up…
Remember, this Act will still be playable until the event ends on November 10th. However, Act 3 will start on October 24th (Note the Sunday start date).
Things kick off for Act 2 with some dialogue between Springfielders on how to get rid of the dinos…
Helen Lovejoy: Dinosaurs are destroying this town…not that it wasn’t already in ruins!
Grampa: Don’t blame me. Blame dinosaur me! And while you’re at it, could you put dinosaur me out of its misery?
Quimby: There’s no need for anything rash! City Hall has contingencies for situations like this.
Superintendent Chalmers: The Springfield National Guard?
Quimby: Something with even more firepower…the Springfield Militia!
Bumblebee Man: Son solo cinco hombres en camiones monstruo!
Sideshow Mel: Translating for our English-speaking audience: “That’s just five guys in monster trucks!”
Cletus: YEE-HAW! Translating for our non-Hillbilly-speaking audience: “YEE-HAW!”
This triggers the Act 2 questline, This Means Dino War and is followed by 2hr tasks for Quimby, Sideshow Mel, Homer, Grampa, and Grampasaurus, as well as a task to collect Act 2 Currency (155), and a task to collect/tap 15 dinosaurs. This Means Dino War is the questline that will take you through unlocking all of this Act’s prizes.
Let’s take a look at what else is in store during Act 2…
Here’s the Act 2 Synopsis from EA:
Quimby tries to handle the situation and calm the panicking Springfielders by unleashing the Springfield Militia, which turns out to just be five guys with monster trucks. The dinosaurs, led by Grampasaurus, easily defeat them. Chalmers, over Quimby’s suspicious objections, reveals that the city has secretly built and equipped an advanced military base in case they ever need to battle the Rigellians. The Rigellians are offended by this revelation, but the plan to use it against the dinosaurs is quickly embraced by almost everyone else in Springfield. Bart doesn’t have any faith this will work, and takes Lisa to the mall to try to recruit the Over Under Beast that has coincidentally recently appeared in town. Unfortunately, the Beast tries to eat them and the kids are forced to flee. Meanwhile, Chalmers has taken command of the new Springfield military by invoking a little known clause in the charter that says any Springfield military force must be commanded by a descendant of Jebediah Springfield, which he claims to be and which may or may not be true. Chalmers, wearing a mech suit, leads the army into battle and initially has great success against the dinosaurs – until all of their equipment stops working and starts falling apart. It turns out that Quimby had been funneling money intended to maintain the equipment into building resort hotel rooms at Geriatric Park because he was bored of all the other hotel rooms in town.
As I stated above, you’ll go right into the This Means Dino War questline, which is what the Act 2 story will follow. This questline is how you’ll unlock the Act 2 prizes.

I’ll lay out specifically what you need to do for each part in the turbo tappin’ post, but I don’t want any of you to get messed up with this. So don’t forget to SCROLL!

Each Act will have a new premium character that will earn event currency. From what I can see, based on the info from EA, characters will be used throughout the entire event. So Act 1 will be used in Act 2, 3, and 4…etc.
