Alright… embarrassing confession from an Addict. I not only spend way too many hours on my town, social networking with other tappers and blogging about random Simpsons/TSTO stuff, I somehow find time to watch the show on TV and MyTube.
Recently, while searching for info on the popsicle stick figures we received in Level 35 (Bunny did an excellent post on this btw), I found a full length version of the Episode during a Google Search. I was so stoked! I was thrilled! I was…. was… mildly confused that everything was dubbed in Russian lol.
What is the point I am getting to? Well, other than the fact that you can find full length Simpsons episodes on the Russian version of you tube (rutube.ru), The Simpsons is really just as funny without all the dialogue. I think I can vouch for this as not understanding something is basically the same as not being able to hear it. Don’t believe me? Well than obviously you’ve never been in a committed relationship, had teenagers or lived in a foreign country lol. (Joking of course… or am I?)
Ok, digressing as usual. I thought it might be neat to show you a bunch of screenshots I took of this episode in sequence to prove my point. This is Ice Cream of Margie (with the Light Blue Hair), Season 18, Episode 7. I do not plan to really write much at all throughout this. For a synopsis of the episode, check out The Simpsons Wiki or do an internet search.
Ok, I have to make a quick comment. This scene of Moe and his Popsicle stick likeness is hilarious and a skoshi creepy. We need to get this Yeti some friends!
Now back to your regularly scheduled program…
Well, I did pretty well keeping my furry trap closed while throwing all these pics up lol. Hopefully you got a giggle or two while you scanned all 68 of them. I actually smile every time I look through these and that’s been quite a bit since I took them! Lots of good images. (NOTE: If you’d like to use any of these for your own stuff, please do although I’d appreciate it if you gave props to TSTOAddicts.com when you do it. All the images are of course the property of Fox and The Simpsons)
I think this proves unequivocally that although The Simpsons dialogue is some of the best out there, the images alone are just as hilarious! I’ve always been a big fan of the sight gags and film references in every episode.
FINAL THOUGHT: Next time you lament that some of your favorite characters in TSTO are voiceless, remember how great The Simpsons can be EVEN without the voice talent. Wookiee out!
