Happy Weekend Everyone!  As always it’s been a busy week here at Addicts & if you’ve missed any of the great posts this week, here’s your chance to catch up!

-Last weekend we celebrated our 1 month anniversary of TSTOAddicts and thanked our AMAZING readers and supporters.  If you missed our Thank You Post you can find it here.

-We also introduced a new column here at TSTO Addicts, You Might Be An Addict.  You can check out that hilarious post here.

-Last Sunday saw many Tappers without access to Tapped Out, as EA was doing server maintenance.  So naturally the Addicts Team had you  covered all week with complete coverage of the game being down, and what you can do about it.  You can check out information about the server being out last Sunday here, what to do if your game is telling you to create a new account here, and what to do if you’re asked “Is This Your Springfield” and it’s not here

-On Monday we had our weekly poll question, asking you if Patty and Selma were worth the wait.  Well the results are in and almost 50% of you said you have no real opinion you just love Tapped Out!  In second place was Yes!  It was exactly what you wanted & in 3rd place was Yes!  Nothing like you expected but you love it anyway.  You can check out the full poll results here

-Bunny was a busy 2D artist this week when she announced the winners of her Sideshow Bob challenge.  She also reveled the 2D prize she created for Mags here

-Wookiee also had his amazing 2D talents on display this week with another 2D How To, this time it broke down El Barto for aspiring 2D Artists.  He also reveled his 2D created for Laura Mac, who won his 2D Challenge from last week.  You can check out Wookiee’s Yoda here

-Of course we added some more info about Level 35.  Including: How Level 35 Impacts the Conform-O-Meter, If you should spend donuts on the DMV Limo, and just where the DMV limo comes from (and what you can do with it too!).

-We also broke down the details on how to maximize your Indolence rating on your Conform-O-Meter

-Bunny had class in session for 3D Thursday breaking down the basics in building a 3D structure for your town.  You can check out her 3D How to here

-Friday saw another bi-monthly meeting of TSTO Anonymous with group leader Wookiee.  Check out how he has no social life here!

-Of course we were hard at work on some of the basics too.  We’ve added several new walkthroughs to our Walkthrough Page and completely updated  our Ultimate Premium Guide!

Well another week is in the books here at TSTOA Addicts and it sure has been a busy one! We promise, as long as you keep reading and EA keeps updating…we’ll keep posting!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Level 35 and the Conform-O-Meter

I know I still owe everything the rest of the Conform-O-Meter break downs, but with the release of Levels 33, 34 & 35 so close together it’s been hard to get all of the info out to you in between updates.  I promise more details will be coming soon!  Today, however, I wanted to talk about Level 35’s impact on the Conform-O-Meter.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

The Level 35 update has introduced 4 new buildings, 4 new characters, 3 new decorations & all new point amounts required to reach a 5-Star Springfield.  At Level 35 here’s what you’ll need to max out your Conform-O-Meter:

Level Indolence Obedience Consumerism/
    Gluttony
35    440    260     240/276
Tree-hugging
     /Vanity
Righteousness Socialism
16945/27020        146     1344

Now I’m sure you’re wondering, ‘How will the new buildings/decorations help me max out?’  Well, here’s how:As you can see, Level 35 has increased the Indolence Rating requirement (+10, 1 more house), the Obedience Rating requirement (+10), the Tree-Hugging Rating requirement (+1,130), the Vanity Rating requirement (+1,600) & the Righteousness Rating requirement (+8).

Item Cost Category Points
Popsicle Stick Patty & Selma $8,300 Vanity 550
Popsicle Stick Disco Stu $8,300 Vanity 550
DMV Limo 50 Donuts Vanity 500
DMV $240,000 Obedience 10
Disco Stu’s 180 Donuts Obedience 10
Spinster City Apartments $391,500 Obedience* 10
Springfield Pet Shop 90 Donuts Obedience* 10

*The game files are showing both the Apartments and the Pet Shop as contributing to Obedience, however my own experience is that the Pet Shop did positively impact my Consumerism rating.  With the apartments I did notice my Indolence rating drop slightly when the game updated, and remained slightly dropped after the apartments were down.  So it is possible they do contribute to Obedience instead of Indolence (like Krabappel’s apartment & Springfield Retirement Castle).  Once I built 1 brown house my rating was back to 5 stars.

Let us know how your Conform-O-Meter rating is doing!  Are you maxed out?  If not, what area currently needs a boost?

Should I Spend Donuts on the DMV Limo?

Level 35 is here and with it comes the DMV Limo, a new premium decoration for your Springfield.  The DMV limo marks the 3rd Limo we’ve received in TSTO, and if you’re asking yourself “should I spend donuts on this?” don’t worry we’ve got you covered!  So before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the DMV Limo and if it’s worth your donuts:

dmv limo
Decoration: DMV Limo
Donut Price:
50 Donuts
Unique?:
No
Bonus:
2.25%
Bonus % Per Donut Spent:
0.045%
Conform-O-Meter Points:
Vanity +500
Where Can I Place It?:
On the main (grass or pavement) sections of Springfield and on the boardwalk.

Final Thought: If you’re just looking to purchase a car for TSTO save your donuts and go with Chalmers (non premium) _ONDA.  However, if you’re a premium player this isn’t a bad purchase for you, especially if you missed the Limo from the Whiskey Business Promo last Spring.  50 donuts isn’t a bad deal, and you do get 500 vanity points.  However, vanity is one of the easiest areas to get points in, so don’t just buy it for the vanity points.
When it comes to bonus % per donut spent, the DMV Limo isn’t a bad deal.  At 0.045% it’s one of the higher percentages per donut spent, but if you’re looking for a better deal in a premium vehicle the Burns limo is 40donuts and offers the same bonus percentage (a rate of 0.050%/donut spent).

What do you think?  Will you be paying 50 donuts for the DMV Limo?

Monday Poll: Are Patty & Selma What You Expected?

250px-Loan-a-Lisa_-_billboard_gag
For as long as I’ve been playing Tapped Out I’ve been seeing/hearing other tappers wanting EA to release Patty & Selma in the game.  So now that they’re finally here, after all this time, I want to ask my fellow tappers…was it worth the wait?  Were Patty & Selma what you expected?  Or do you think EA could have done a little more with the update?  Let us know in the poll below…and if you have any follow up comments feel free to leave them in the comment section below!

To Sell or Not To Sell…..

TSTO Selling Buildings
With the release of Level 35 and it’s FOUR new buildings, and no land expansions, some long time tappers are faced with a problem… too many buildings/decorations and not enough space for them all! Well the neat thing about TSTO is that you do have the option to sell certain items that you’ve purchased in the game. However, before you hit the sell button there are a few things you should know….

Selling a Building? Be sure to follow the Golden Rules:

1. Never sell limited time buildings

2. Never sell any building that costs donuts to replace

3. Think carefully before you sell

There is only one way to get back a building that you’ve sold, and that’s to buy it again. And just like if you were to go to a Pawn Shop, it will always cost you much more to buy it again then what you sold it for.

REMEMBER that if you sell a limited time building, like the Swanky Fish, you won’t be able to replace it because it’s no longer available. And if you sell a building like Barney’s Bowlarama, 1) you’ll lose Barney and 2) it’ll cost you 250 donuts to replace (even if you purchased it with Santa coins from the Christmas event).

So be careful when you’re moving your buildings around because selling is a serious business. Ask yourself whether you really need the money now or whether you can wait a day or two to build up the amount you need. And if you find yourself tapping the dollar sign accidentally, don’t worry! A warning (automatically) comes up asking you to confirm your selling decision. If you see a confirm sell box, slow your tapping finger wayyy down and be sure you really want to sell before you tap “sell”.

You Might Be An Addict….

redneck

So way back before level 34 hit I had this idea for a post about being addicted to Tapped Out.  It all started on Tapped-Out.co.uk when one of my friends posted, “You know you’re addicted when you wake up in the middle of the night to go to bathroom and grab your phone because you’re thinking: ‘Well I’m up now so I might as well collect rents and grab tickets while I’m up.'” I thought it was so funny and so true and it got me thinking to what some other signs might be.  So I asked other members of Tapped-Out.co.uk to answer the question “you know you’re addicted to Tapped Out When…” Their answers, as I expected, cracked me up!  So similar to Jeff Foxworthy’s “You Might Be A Redneck…” series I’ve come up with the “You Might Be An Addict…” series, with a little help from my fellow Addicts of course!  So with out further ado I present to you….You Might Be An Addict:

Tapped Out Walkthrough: Level 35 Part 3

If you missed the first two parts of the Level 35 walkthrough you can find them here: Part 1 and Part 2. When we last left off Homer had just completed his driver training course (after 4 hours!) and he’s finally able to renew his drivers license. Of course Patty and Selma don’t make it easy for him. We pick the walkthrough back up with Homer looking for a little revenge….
