Hey there Gift Grabberinos!
Wow… this holiday update is one doozy of an event. I’m having a blast in my town AND on Addicts.
Like I’ve said before, one of the bennies of this blog job (I think of it as a snow job right now lol) is getting to tell you where things come from. I thought I’d start out with Candy Kevin.
Candy Kevin is a premium character and costs 40 donuts. While I won’t go into whether you should buy him or not (that’s Alissa and Bunny’s job), I can tell you he comes from Season 18, Episode 9: Kill Gil: Volumes 1 & 2. At the beginning of this episode, the Simpsons family goes to Krusty’s Kristmas on Ice.
Amongst all the hilarity shown in Krusty’s show is a bit with skaters dressed as reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and, you guessed it, a Candy Cane.
These Christmas skaters let the children of the audience know that they need help. The Grumple had stolen all of their holiday cheer. When their skate to Mistletoe Mountain is ruined by workmen putting up the court for an upcoming basketball game, Frosty calls our new skater by his name, Candy Kevin, right before they get in a full on brawl with the workers.
And if you were wondering who the guy in purple is, that is two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko in the image.
Krusty digs Canadian figure skaters headlining his shows apparently. Candy Kevin also makes another appearance in an episode right next to the Grumple. In Season 23, Episode 1: The Falcon and the D’ohman, he shows up at Hot to Trotsky’s Ice Skating Rink and skates away in fear after Wayne shoots a flaming t-shirt into the Grumple’s eye.
Well that about sums it up. Like the post title said, the Grumple was sort of mentioned lol. For more info on his origins, check out this post.
Y’all stay festive… Wookiee out!
P.S. I did buy him.
