Where Did THAT Come From-Stolen Bumper Car

Advertisements

This is another one of those items that has barely a mention in an episode, yet makes it mark into our game. In the Episode: Selma’s Choice, Aunt Selma has taken the kids to the Duff Gardens amusement park. Lisa drinks the “water” in a ride I can say is attempting to resemble it’s a small world and goes nuts. Bart sneaks on to the Barrel Roll ride he isn’t tall enough for by using caramel apples as lifts.

The bar on the ride goes right over Bart instead of securing him.He is hanging on for dear life while shouting to the attendant to stop it.

He is then taken to security. The guard is very upset due to while he was dealing with Bart, hoodlums made off with 3 bumper cars (Dolph, Kearney, and Jimbo). That’s it.

A simple hint of an item and EA tosses it in the game. I do admit, I wanted them ever since Krustyland.  Now here’s Wookiee cuz you know he HAS to have his say….

***Bunny***

Such a great addition to the game!  I know a bunch of you may not like all the random additions EA comes up with to throw in the game, but I love any opportunity to revisit previous Simpsons episodes.

Bunny highlighted just exactly how the “stolen bumper car” applies to Dolph and Jimbo in Season 4, Episode 13.

I love this bit of dialogue…

Selma: Don’t blame these kids, it’s not their fault.  I think their father is missing a chromosome.

Security Guard: Ms. Bouvier, while we were rescuing this boy… hoodlums made off with 3 bumper cars… and I don’t think George Washington will ever be the same.

I don’t want to spoil the episode but let’s just say Bart has something to do with poor GW’s condition.

Reader The Lizard King was real quick to point out another possible connection for the new decoration.  I was completely on the same page with the King and initially thought EA found this idea in a different episode.  Of course, Bunny is often one hop ahead of me.

In Season 17, Episode 5, Homer comes across a Bumper Car Ride on the boardwalk that is being dismantled by construction workers.  I really would love to have Captain Dodge Ems added to Squidport.

Homer: OOH OOH…  I wanna ride the bumper cars!

Construction Worker: Sir… we’re dismantling this ride… it’s not safe…

Homer: I call a red one!

Homer jumps in a red car and starts bumping away.  In true Homer fashion, he takes the car out of the ride and goes offroading.

Marge: Homie NO!  It’s not street legal.

Worker: Don’t worry ma’am.  He’s not connected to the power supply so he can’t go far… uh hahahaha GULP.

Homer careens through traffic and finally collides with Chief Wiggum, Eddie and Lou in their police car.

Wiggum: Ah… he’s got us in a corner… I hate this ride.

But wait there’s more!  The writers of The Simpsons must really love them some bumper cars.   In Season 7, Episode 25, Lisa finally makes friends when the family goes on vacation.  Bart is completely jealous (because he is unpopular for once) but of course finds a way to ruin Lisa’s popularity.

There’s a great bumper car scene towards the end of the episode.  Lisa is furoius with Bart, but unfortunately got the bumper car that doesn’t work.

Her face in the showdown with Bart is priceless for a character that is usually so Zen.  I guess she forgets that when it comes down to it, she is still a Simpson.

Wow…  not one or two but THREE bumper car possibilities.  Of course I’d be remiss not to mention the couch gag from Season 11, Episode 14.

Well…  happy tapping every one.  For the record… Bunny was absolutely correct with her association.  You can tell by the paint scheme of the bumper car.  Well.. I’m off to go have fun with Dolph and Jimbo.  You stay classy Addicterinos… Wookiee out!
