Should I Spend Donuts On the December 21st Returning Items?

Advertisements

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s snowing in our pocket-size Springfields!  Yes that magical time of the year when our towns are blanketed with snow and there are LOADS of items from Winters past to spend those sprinkles on!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks awesome because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add The Best Snowman Ever, Gingerbread Mansion, Murderhorn, Snow Monster, Reindeer, Fancy Igloo, Duff Beer Tree, Ice God, Holiday Totem Pole, Bonestorm Santa, Annual Gift Man, Candy Kevin, Kearney’s Other Son, Duff Center Arena, Giant Outdoor Fireplace, Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers (and Babysitter Bandit), Elf Home, Egg Nog Bar, Festive Trashcan Fire or the Exotic Petting Zoo (and accessories) to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your Springfield…

EVERYTHING Listed Leaves Stores January 3rd, 2017

There are A LOT of items to cover…so before I get into this list I want to be clear on one point.  Don’t buy any item for the voucher rebate.  Buy the item because you like it/want it not because of the vouchers attached to it.

Item(s): Super Bundle: Gingerbread Mansion and Best Snowman Ever (fully leveled up)
Donut Cost: 110 Donuts, can purchase separately if you already have one
Voucher Return: 240 on Best Snowman and 420 on Mansion.  So bundle 660
Previous Post: Best Snowman Ever; Gingerbread Mansion
Earns: Nothing.
My Opinion On Them Now: Not worth the donuts.  They were cute last year when they were free, but not worth spending 110 donuts on.  Especially without a payout/bonus %. Final Thought: Pass

Item: Murderhorn
Donut Cost: 250 Donuts, 100 Donut Rebate. Net 150 Donuts.
Voucher Return: 1,500
Previous Post: Murderhorn
Earns: 5% Bonus on all cash and XP
My Opinion On It Now: I still don’t think it’s worth the donuts.  (and the bonus % still isn’t that great..) It’s massive.  So unless you really want this item because of an attachment from a past episode…pass.  Final Thought: Pass, unless you have an emotional attachment towards it.

Character: Snow Monster
Donut Cost: 70 Donuts
Voucher Return: 420
Previous Post: Snow Monster WDTCF
Full Character or NPC?: Snow Monster is now a full character, thanks to an update a short while ago
My Opinion On Him Now: He’s not bad, but it’s still over priced for a stand alone character.  While he does have tasks, he’s completely limited in what he can do and is never used for Events.  If you like him, grab him.  Otherwise pass. Final Thought: Meh…

Item: Reindeer
Donut Cost: 20 Donuts
Voucher Return: 120
Previous Post: Reindeer
Earns: .50% on all cash and xp
My Opinion On It Now:  While not a great return for donuts spent, I know this little guy has been on the wishlist of many of you for awhile now.  So if you’ve been wanting him, now’s your chance.  Final Thought: Ok pick up.

Item: Fancy Igloo
Donut Cost: 20 Donuts
Voucher Return: 120
Previous Post: Fancy Igloo
Earns: .5% On all cash and XP
My Opinion On It Now: Similar thoughts like the reindeer, but this one is more of a novelty.  I’d grab one if you really want it and be done with them.  Final Thought: Meh

Item: Duff Beer Tree
Dount Cost: 10 Donuts
Voucher Return: 60
Previous Post: Duff Beer Tree
Earns: .25% on all cash and XP
My Opinion on it Now: Fun item, in my mind anyway.  10 Donuts isn’t a bad price for something fun in Springfield.  If you like the design grab it. Final Thought: Ok to buy.

Item: Ice God
Donut Cost: 30 Donuts
Voucher Return: 60
Previous Post: Ice God
Earns: 2.25% Bonus on all cash and XP
My Opinion On it Now: Bonus % alone is worth it on this one (too bad it’s unique).  Pick it up! Final Thought: Buy

Item: Holiday Totem Pole
Donut Cost: 10 Donuts
Voucher Return: 60
Previous Post: Holiday Totem Pole
Earns: 2.5% Bouns on all cash and XP
My Opinion On It Now: Buy it!  Bonus % is amazing for 10 donuts spent. This should even be a question..grab it. (once again, too bad it’s unique!) Final Thought: Buy!

Character: Bonestorm Santa
Donut Cost: 45 Donuts
Voucher Return: 270
Previous Post: Bonestorm Santa
Full Character or NPC?: NPC on this one, animation when tapped
My Opinion On Him Now:  Meh.  NPCs never really do much for me, and this one is no exception.  If you’re an NPC collector pick it up, otherwise pass. Final Thought: Meh, pass.

Character: Annual Gift Man
Donut Cost: 45 Donuts, 10 Donut Rebate. Net 35 Donuts
Voucher Return: 270
Previous Post: Annual Gift Man
Full Character or NPC?: NPC on this one, animation when tapped
My Opinion On Him Now:  Meh.  NPCs never really do much for me, and this one is no exception.  If you’re an NPC collector pick it up, otherwise pass. Final Thought: Meh, pass.

Character: Candy Kevin
Donut Cost: 40 Donuts, 10 Donut Rebate. Net 33 Donuts
Voucher Return: 270
Previous Post: Candy Kevin
Full Character or NPC?: NPC on this one, animation when tapped
My Opinion On Him Now:  Meh.  NPCs never really do much for me, and this one is no exception.  If you’re an NPC collector pick it up, otherwise pass. Final Thought: Meh, pass.

Character: Kearney’s Other Son
Donut Cost: 90 Donuts
Voucher Return: 540
Previous Post: Kearney’s Other Son
Full Character or NPC?: Full character, complete with questline and tasks
My Opinion On Him Now:  A bit expensive for just a character, but he’s fun and makes me laugh.  If you’re in the market for new character to play around with this is a fun buy.  It’s over priced but fun. Final Thought: Lukewarm buy.  Fun item, but overpriced.

Item: Duff Center Arena
Donut Cost: 200 Donuts, 60 Donut Rebate. Net 140 Donuts
Voucher Return: 1200
Previous Post: Duff Center Arena
Earns: $120, 12xp/6hrs
My Opinion On It Now:  Still overpriced, even with the rebate, for just a building. So unless you really feel like this is missing from your sports complex, pass.  Final Thought: Pass

Item: Giant Outdoor Fireplace
Donut Cost: 35 Donuts
Voucher Return: 210
Previous Post: Giant Outdoor Fireplace
Earns: 1% on all cash and XP
My Opinion On It Now:  Ok buy for the donuts.  At least it has a bonus %.  But it is giant, so make sure you have the right spot for this before buying.  I’m still meh on it..it was free last year and I don’t think i’ve taken out of inventory. Final Though: Meh

Building/Character: Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers Babysitting Service and the Babysitter Bandit
Donut Cost: 120 Donuts
Voucher Return: 720
Previous Post: Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers Babysitting Service and the Babysitter Bandit
Earns: $90, 10xp/4hrs
Full Character or NPC: Full character, with questline and tasks
My Opinion On It Now: Hands down the best offering of the bunch.  If you passed on this last winter don’t let it slip away again.  Buy this classic combo!  Final Thought: Buy!

Item: Elf Home
Donut Cost: 60 Donuts
Voucher Return: 360
Previous Post: Elf Home
Earns: 2.5% bonus on all cash and XP AND $260, 26xp/10hrs
My Opinion On It Now: One of the better buys of the stand alone buildings offered in this round.  Not only earns a bonus % but also income.  Nice buy.  If you can get it i’d pick up one or two. Final Thought: Decent Buy. Consider grabbing one (or two)

Item: Egg Nog Bar
Donut Cost: 60 Donuts
Voucher Return: 360
Previous Post: Egg Nog Bar
Earns: $105, 11xp/ 3hrs
My Opinion On it Now: I like this bar, mostly because of how it fits into my Springfield.  Another one of those if you like it grab it.  But honestly I’d rather you spend the 60 Donuts on an Elf Home over this.  Final Thought: If you really want it, grab it. Otherwise pass.

Item: Festive Trashcan Fire
Dount Cost: 3 Donuts
Voucher Return: 20
Previous Post: Festive Trashcan Fire
Earns: Nothing
My Opinion On It: These are fun to add around Springfield, and at 3 donuts each it’s not a bad decoration.  Downside is it earns nothing.  So if you’ve got a need for them, and would like to spruce up Springfield pick them up.  Otherwise pass. Final Thought: Toss up

Item: Moe’s Exotic Petting Zoo Bundle.  Includes: Moe’s Petting Zoo, Pig of Paradise Pen, Wooly Mammoth Pen, Land Octopus Pen.
Donut Cost: 8o Donuts (Can buy individually as well if you already own any)
Voucher Return: 205  for Moe’s, 90 for Pig Pen, 90 Wooly Mammoth Pen and 105  Octopus Pen. Total 490 for full bundle
Previous Posts: Moe’s Petting Zoo, Pig of Paradise/Wooly Mammoth/Land Octopus
Earns: Pens earn .50% bonus each, so 1.5% total. Moe’s earns cash/xp
My Opinion On It Now: Unless you really regret not getting this last year, pass.  Bonus % isn’t worth the donuts spent and it’s a massive Zoo when assembled.  Final Thought: Pass.
