Graham, will the clock character from the gils deal earn event currency? I haven’t made any purchases yet for this event, and there are some things in the mystery box I would like as well.
Is there a known total character count for the game at this point? I’m curious where I stand in collecting them.

Yup and no idea – have a list but it’s 2 years out of date or more !!
I can’t give you an exact count, but it’s in the neighborhood of 650. I have 644 (not including the three semi-characters that can take flights at the airport, but don’t have a regular set of tasks) and I don’t have any of the recent characters that were available for real cash only.

The Character total is much higher than that. I have 655 and I am missing quite a few.
I’m at about half of that, well done.
That doesn’t sound “much higher”…sounds like I was probably within 10% of the correct number. And I forgot to include the five characters that I have in storage and didn’t include the two new characters that just became available this morning, bringing my personal total to 651.
But I’m intrigued as to what all of those characters are that I’m missing…I know I’m missing all of the ones that have only been available for real money so far…how many of those are there? And am I missing any other characters? If so, I’m surprised…I tend to buy every character available for donuts or IGC, even if I end up deciding to store it, just so I can do the questline (and because I have more donuts than I know what to do with).

I’m gathering a sense it’s just a tad under 700 from all of these expert players’ totals. That’s a lot!

The people I knew that were even close to that used to rely on my now out-of-date list for a count
I stand by my previous answer. I have all the characters available prior to this event. However, I forgot about The Flying Giuseppe but also have Cupid Bart. It’s hard to give an exact answer during an event. All told this event adds 6 new characters plus Cupid Bart, 2 new skins, & 2 NPCs. The last character will be the Premium for Act 4. Once this event ends the number should be 680 fully playable characters. As I mentioned this leaves out Parade Roller & Parade Train which have the one 4 hour task. They are not part of the Unemployment Office but are listed in the Town Census. Again, also assuming each as a playable character & counting characters like Sherri & Terri & The Wiccans as 1 each.
As for my trivia question. I assure you it is straight forward & there is no trick. The Egg Council Member is an NPC therefore not a playable character. I’ll give a little more time for you to think on it & open it for anyone else to guess before I reveal the answer.

The answer is slightly complicated. Currently, as of the time I am writing this I believe the answer is 675. That counts the Mayan God, now a full character after the last event & Little Debbie Dimples from Act I of this event. However, that count should go up by 3 in a few hours when the next Act starts & then another one by the end of this event. Also, Parade Roller & Parade Train, do have a 4 hour task, but otherwise not characters as I can tell. Obviously, this also counts multi characters like Sherri & Terri & the Wiccans as 1 each, because they are connected in task.
So, now a quick trivia question. Which is the only character in the game whose “Avatar” is not the face/head of the character?
None that I have, apparently.
I was going to say Maude in a sense because it’s her spirit but it’s still her face. The egg council member, he doesn’t have a face. 😆
