Throwing Back Seasons with the Fuzzball – Season 2 (Plus “The Great Phatsby”)

Hey hey there friends!

So… in case you missed it last week… we launched a new feature on the site where I do an audio recap of Seasons of The Simpsons plus new episode reviews and whatever other stuff comes out of my mouth. Basically it’s all The Simpsons stuff from the weekly podcast I do. With Totbox on a hiatus from the amazing Throwback posts that I’ve come to love, this is my way of keeping some sort of throwback going and while I’ll miss the hilarity that is Totbox covering episodes of the Best. Show. Ever., I like this format. Shoutout to Alissa for even thinking of this amazing example of the power of double dipping. NOTE: Do not double dip Cheetos… not a good example.

TSTO New Facebook Teaser..What’s Coming Next?!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

EA has just released (well ok an hr or so ago at this point…sometimes real life gets in the way of tapping ;)) a new Teaser for TSTO.

It looks like our own Wookstradamus prognosticated correctly!  It appears as if we’ll be getting an Around the World event in our games very soon!  (as if the Chinese New Year theme didn’t already tip many of us off 😉 )

What are your thoughts on the event teaser?  What would you like to see in this upcoming event?  When do you think it will hit?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Throwing Back Seasons with the Fuzzball – Season 1

Hey hey there friends!

So… the other week or so, Alissa told me that Totbox planned a hiatus from the amazing Throwback posts that I’ve come to love and while I’ll miss the hilarity that is Totbox covering episodes of the Best. Show. Ever., I wondered if it was time for me to step into the arena and take on each season of The Simpsons. Wow though. Writing about each episode of the show is a task and a half. How to find time to watch each one and then give it the due diligence like Tot? It seemed like something that might end up low on my honey-do list.wookieetabletfull2Of course, then coincidence and a confluence of events occurred. One of the goals we’ve had on the site is to provide a variety of different formats for content for y’all. We already have the occasional gameplay videos from Alissa and I hope you’ve checked out the 5 episodes of Addicts Live. They’re a hoot and I’ve really enjoyed being on the last few. The last frontier we hadn’t crossed yet was just doing a podcast. But wait… I’m already doing that. In case you missed my blatant self-promotion from a few months back, I have been recording a podcast of my own where I ramble on about life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. I’ve been having a great time and somehow have kept the show going for 23 episodes. This is where we get to said coincidence. Continue reading

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So last week we asked you guys to participate in a fun little survey where we would vote to rank the top 14 Simpsons Christmas Episodes. And the results are in!

Not only have I gathered your favorite Christmas episode rankings, but I also checked in with Patric, Bunny and Wookiee to see where they ranked the episodes.  Let’s take a look…

Addicts Want to Know: Ranking the Simpsons Christmas Episodes

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So I thought I’d take a little break from the event and grab an opinion poll of the Addicts Community.

As I talked about on Addicts Live! last weekend, I recently came across an article online that ranked the best Simpsons Christmas episodes.  Of course this article was written in 2014, so before this year’s Nightmare After Krustmas episode aired…so it leaves that one off.

So as I was reading the article, I thought it would be fun to see where the Addicts Community ranks each episode and we could share the results prior to Christmas.  So if you don’t mind, take a moment to rank each of the 14 episodes from best (1) to worst (14) in the poll below and we’ll share the results next week….

Scroll down/left to view all of the ranking options.

If you’re having trouble using the form above, here’s the direct link

For those curious here’s the article where they ranked each episode, and why. And here’s the ranking order (since I know sometimes those slideshows can be annoying):
13. She of Little Faith
12. Simpsons Christmas Stories
11. Tis’ the Fifteenth Season
10. White Christmas Blues
9. Grift of the Magi
8. The Fight Before Christmas
7. Kill Gill Volumes I & II
6. Holidays of Future Passed
5. I Won’t Be Home for Christmas
4. Skinner’s Sense of Snow
3. Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire
2. Marge Be Not Proud
1. Miracle on Evergreen Terrace

I should note that I came across another list, which I discussed on Addicts Live! where Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire was ranked at number 1, and everything else was ranked totally different.  That list can be found here, and it had them ranked:
13. White Christmas Blues
12. Kill Gil , Volumes I & II
11. Skinner’s Sense of Snow
10. I Won’t Be Home for Christmas
9. Tis the Fifteenth Season
8. Simpsons Christmas Stories
7. The Fight Before Christmas
6. Holidays of Future Passed
5. The Grift of the Magi
4. Miracle on Evergreen Terrace
3. She of Little Faith
2. Marge Be Not Proud
1. Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire

Basically the only one these two lists agreed on is Marge Be Not Proud is the 2nd best Christmas Episode.

And for those who haven’t yet seen The Nightmare After Krustmas, here’s what the “experts” are saying about it….we’ll have an episode re-cap up from Wookiee soon.

What are your thoughts on the best and worst Simpsons Christmas episodes? Thoughts on the two different lists?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Weekend Plans, Best Simpsons Episodes

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So I think it’s safe to say there will be no Christmas update until early next week.  And while it both stinks, because so many of us were looking forward to SNOW, and seems completely out of character for EA, since they’ve been releasing rapid fire updates with little to no break in between for the last year plus, it’s a good thing.

Hear me out.  While I know we’re all Addicts, let’s keep in mind that this is an extremly busy time of the year for many of us.  We can all take the weekend to get up those holiday decorations, get together with family, catch up on some household chores…you know all those things we’ll all likely ignore once the update hits.

And hey, maybe if you spend some time doing those things prior to the update your family won’t be so ticked off when you ignore them for the next six weeks. 😉

Need something else to do over the weekend?  Something to keep that Simpsons “tick” down in your life?  Why not binge watch the best. show. ever. on either FXX, Simpsons World or any other provider (or DVD/streaming) in your area!  Remember there are a few more days left of the 600 Marathon on FXX (right now they’re on season still a lot of Simpsons to go).  So let not your heart be troubled…there are all kinds of ways to curb that Simpsons itch while we’re waiting for this dang update to hit.

So which episodes should you watch?  Looking for a guide on some of the best episodes to binge watch over the weekend? (as if most of you Addicts didn’t already know)  Let’s breakdown what the internet is calling the 25 best episodes of The Simpsons, in a new list released just prior to the FXX 600 Marathon starting…

Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse….

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ever wonder how and why some of the characters on the Best. Show. Ever. were created?  Well while we’re continuing our adventures in waiting for something…anything…to hit our pocket-sized Springfields, I thought we could travel back in time and find out how/why one of our favorite lovable nerds was created.

So let’s all hop in our Deloreans and travel back in time to the 1980s.  Back to a time before The Simpsons were a regular 30 minute show…I know such a cruel reality to travel back in time before The Simpsons were a household name, but bare with me.  It’s for a good reason….because Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse…

Simpsons News: Comic Con 2016 and MORE

Hey hey friends!

With a bit of downtime happening for all of us, I thought it might be time for another edition of Simpsons News. Season 28 is rapidly approaching (seriously… less than two months!) and that generally brings a rush of news our way. It also helps that Comic Con just happened which always brings stuff straight from the showrunners mouths. Despite the fact that I know all of you readers have access to the ultraweb, I figured I’d conglomerate some fun news in one place with links and videos. Without further words, let’s get to it.

Simpsons News: Words, Kubrick, Grammer and more!

How ya bean dune peanuts?

Once again it is time for the resident walking carpet to pop in with some more Simpsons News for all my favorite tappers.  I know anyone with a computudora and access to the interwebs can find this stuff, but we like to collect it all for you just in case.  The world is one big place but one of the things which brings me joy has always been The Simpsons.  I quote it in life, joke with coworkers/classmates, write on a blog about it… it’s just always there.  Who’d have thought almost 27 years ago that these silly yellow characters would still be around?  Periodically, we like to share some of the fun stuff we’ve found so jump beyond the break if this sounds like something you’re interested in.
