What EA said:
The ‘Springfield vs. Krusty’ lawsuit quickly becomes the talk of the town. It turns out that the lawsuit was filed by a committee headed by Principal Skinner, along with Reverend Lovejoy and Chief Wiggum. They claim that clowning isn’t art and therefore should not have an art school in town. Krusty is about to give up, but Debbie tells him to fight for the school. Her speech doesn’t work, but before Krusty can raise the white flag he gets a surprise visit from Rainier Wolfcastle, pledging to donate an absurd amount of money to enroll his son, Dieter, into the school. With a small fortune in his hands, Krusty THEN decides to fight for his school and heads to court. While there, Judge Synder says he’s tired of all these crazy cases ending up in his court, so he decides to dole out a crazy verdict and calls for a “trial by amusement”. If Krusty and his kids can amuse the plaintiffs, that should suffice as evidence that clowning is art and Judge Snyder will throw out the case.
