It seems like Amazon US either never fixed this or they’ve done it again. It is an Amazon problem that needs Amazon to fix it, so do go and complain to Amazon and make them realise how many of you they’re causing problems for.
It works for Kindles in the UK, but not in the US it seems.
I ask you also comment here for 2 reasons.
1: so I know it’s really happening and 2: because if I get enough reports I can flag this for EA to weigh in on it for you too.
I need you to confirm what country you’re in and what device so if the following is spot on copy n paste it into a comment, or edit the Country / Device to suit your problem if it’s close …

Ground Tile woes:FIXED
Tested all the Ground Tiles and they now all work on the new land
(aug 8 2024 patch)
First up – EA are aware and I’m hoping this is patched quickly.
As I type if you go into Design Mode and pick any of theose Ground Tiles from the left-hand Build Menu then the game won’t let you place those on the new land. You also won’t be able to drag and drop an area with those tiles for now.
Land Tokens, or lack of, is still an issue: FIXED
This is now in the Permanent Store.
You can find it under Premium Items ( the golden Homer Buddha icon )
Been a long term cause for me, so a huge THANKS to the Studio for doing that
It costs 150 Donuts and will generate a Land Token every 12 hours.
That can be rushed if you need Tokens quickly.
When the number of Tokens is the same as the amount of not-yet-unlocked land it will pay $$s and XP instead.
This’ll mainly apply to newer players. It’s understandable if you picked up a few rare Land Tokens from Daily Challenges and thought woohoo, free land.
Sadly no-one knew what was coming so we couldn’t warn you how important those are. You need at least 5 to get to the new land and 592 of ’em to unlock all land. You’ll see when I get to that in the good news bit.
What this does mean is the Golden Goose Realty remains essential but it’s been effectively impossible to get for the last few years.
You can play without any other Premium or real-money item, but not that.
For years I’ve been pushing or supporting calls for it to be made easily available. Even got in trouble once so I’ll just say ..

In my opinion the Golden Goose Realty, as the only essential premium item and the only reliable way to earn Land Tokens, needs to be in the Permanent Store as a buy-it-now item so when new players realise how important it is they can just go and get it.
You can get Tokens from Daily Challenges, although they are rare, so please remember to save at least 5 to open the new land. Just get one strip in-line with the Ocean and as soon as you see the first of the new tiles you can get the lot.
My 18 month old town will get it’s 14th Token when I collect today’s Daily Challenge, boy am I glad I didn’t start using them yet !!
… and now the good news:
Item Limits increased – woohoo!!
That’s right, the limit was upped from 16,000 to 18,000 items. With all the new land be careful you don’t go too daft and end up stuck again though!!
Lots and lots of new Land – yay!!
A friendly reminder:
You need to be in Design Mode to see the tiles you haven’t unlocked yet.
I know it’s been a while since any of you last had land to get, to so I figured I ought to say something about that.
960 more tiles to be exact, all costing a million of those Springfield $$s, so if you got the 5 tokens or bought that strip anyway you won’t need to worry about the GGR.
While you have land still to unlock the GGR will create Tokens again too, until the number of Tokens is the same as the amount of unlocked land tiles.
I’d bank those in case the next lot of new land needs ’em.
Got a before and after for you here, and some numbers on those tiles.

Hello, and first off THANK YOU for this exhaustive update!
I recently re-downloaded TSTO after seeing that the GGR is now available (permanently), BUT I can’t find it! I’ve gone into build mode, design mode, everything I can think of, but cannot find the golden Homer statue to click on.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I’m in the US using iOS, the only screenshots I’ve seen/had sent to me were via Reddit from an Australian player. I’m also fully updated (as of the recent update on 9/25).

It’s a Store sub-section.
Tap the Saw and Hammer button in the bottom right.
If you don’t see 3 buttons on the left, with Homer, Bart and Santa’s Little helper on the button at the top, then hit the Back Arrow in the top left of that panel.
Swipe right starting just to the right of the Homer’s House button.
The icon you want is top row centre
FYI, and to stop anyone else getting in a muddle …
The last App Store update was the 6th of August with a patch on the 8th for the A Bart Future event.
Downloading that as a fresh install on the 25th of September does not mean there’s anything new out there for us yet.

i’m in canada playing on an iphone and am not seeing land tiles generating or options to purchase…app is up to date. is this a contact ea support issue? i have other items for this event and have completed tasks for part 1.
You have to go into build mode first. Then, go to the last open piece of land you have to the right out at the top and you should see the ability to purchase new land right next to it.
(It’s really a pity that the WordPress platform doesn’t allow for placing photos directly into the comments, like Facebook and other platforms do. I’m too tired to go through the rigamarole of using Imgur to create a linked photo right now or I’d have included a screen capture for you. 😔 Hopefully, my description is clear enough and you’ll get it when you try doing that in your town.)

… that’s the thing that generates Land Tokens and is also not Event Content, it’s in the Permanent Store if you don’t already own it.
Here’s my prediction…the folks who are buying up all the new land at once will run out of land sooner than those who buy land as they need it. I’ve always thought that buying land you don’t need yet leads to bigger (perhaps bigger than “necessary”) designs, because it feels like you have so much more room to work with. I’m of the buy-land-as-you-need-it school of thought and I still haven’t used all of the land that was available before the update (even though I’ve been playing for almost exactly 10 years now)! (And, yes, I do actually try to make nicely designed areas, with a relatively realistic feel to them in terms of layout and such.) But, of course, to each one’s own…although I really don’t want to hear anyone bellyaching about running out of land for a long time now!
Is there a way to know how close I am to reaching my item limit?
Okay, I’m confused…. It doesn’t look like any of the new land requires land tokens, so why is my GGR now generating land tokens? I still have unopened original land, including (all?) land that would require tokens, but my GGR had previously stopped generating tokens because, presumably, I had enough to buy all of the for-token land.
The GGR will create a Token for each and every tile available that you could use one on if you wished.
If you don’t buy any of the new land yet it’ll add another 960 Tokens for when you do want it.
I plan to rush and bank a whole heap of Tokens before expanding, so if the next extra land needs those I’ll have a load ready.
So, does that mean I can pay cash OR use a land token for each new plot of land?
Yup, a million in-game bucks or a token works to get each of those new tiles

Yeah, the latter part I knew…I had just forgotten that one could also use a token to buy cash land, since pretty much all of the land I was buying before the update was land that required tokens. But thanks!
Thanks for the info. I was clicking around my Springfield and noticed the land token, so I didn’t even realize we had more land with the latest update. I maxed out on IGC a while ago, so I’m fighting the urge to just buy, buy, buy. I did buy one full row just to see how much space we have. Now I’ll be time to redo my whole town!
I’m using an Android phone in the US. It’s showing in the Golden Goose Realty the timer countdown and it starts again for 12 hours when I click on it. However, neither the tiles I’ve earned nor the available land are showing up when I go into design mode. I do have the Wiggum showing up available for purchase.
Have you seen the Before and After maps and read the Reminder in the post ??
If you got those 5 strips with a red T on the right of the Before image head over there and go into Design Mode.
Once you do that you’ll see the next tile strip to the right with a cost for $$s
Tap on the green button with the price and it’ll show you the Token count and give you the option to use one or pay with IGC.
I maxed out land tokens long time ago but have not used all of the available land yet. I am confused. I see no extra land or items in store. What am I missing.

If you don’t see the GGR in store it likely means you already had it but not used it in so long you forgot where it is
Did you go into build mode? I know it’s probably been a while since you’ve bought land, so you may not remember that you need to do that first to see the next row of available land. Also, if you have unpurchased land, you won’t see the new land until you’ve bought the land adjacent to it…you can’t see all of the available land at once.
Ahh, guess the Before and After maps in the post weren’t enough and I shoulda written that in too, but if they’re still buying the older land I’d reckon they knew how it worked. Oh well …

I wonder if they were planning ahead for the new land tiles to require in-game-currency, when they added the Beloved Billionaires Club awhile back? Could it be that they wanted to provide some opportunity for a challenge to those of us who had maxed out our IGC, by giving us a way to mindlessly and quickly drain away all that currency?
If so, I guess it kind’a worked on me… I (ahem) *only* have about 600 million right now, so I can’t just instantly buy up all of the new tiles. 😂

Uggg…I really need to remember to proofread before submitting a comment! I don’t remember exactly what the wording at the end of my comment was originally supposed to be, but the gist was that I’m sure other folks appreciate your efforts, too. Moderating (or leading any kind of group, as I know firsthand) can be a thankless job sometimes, and I know how good it feels when someone does take the time to voice their appreciation.
There are times it drives me nuts, like having the notes for tomorrows posts open and unfinished for hours as I was back and forth and distracted.
It’s 4 am here and I’m just about to go tap for the second time since I woke.
Didn’t help spending all Tuesday night until way after sunrise trying and failing to find Event Currency images. Really wish I could get the ones in the files to work, but there’s some trick to that I haven’t figured out yet and can’t find anyone that’ll share the secret.
A couple more glasses of bourbon and then I’m off to bed … I hope !!

I wish I could help! I lost a lot of great image editing software when I retired. Oh, and friendly tip….even though it may seem like it helps, I think the science shows that alcohol isn’t really a great soporific. Maybe try some Sleepytime tea or a small amount of melatonin? (Most melatonin pills are actually too high a dosage, which is why I like liquid drops, instead.) Save having a glass of bourbon for when you want to celebrate your success with the images, instead! 😉
(Btw, what kind of event currency images are we taking about, exactly? Is it something ome could do with a screen capture? I just realized, too, that I still have PowerPoint, which can do a lot of cool image editing, like removing backgrounds. If you think I might be able to help, let me know and I’m happy to give it a try!)
It’s hard to cleanly remove the background and get a decent sized image from a TSTO screenshot no matter what you got.
Add in I wanted the image before the event went live to write the Rundown ready to go and you’ll see the issue.
There has to be some trick to those image files, but I haven’t even had a chance to experiment yet, way too much other stuff going on that I need to do for the posts or keep up with comments on many sites including here.
Hayfever tablets help with sleep, read the side effects and they say may cause drowsiness, but I need to figure when I can wrap up what I’m doing and take them a couple of hours early. Not so good if I know I’m in the middle of something complex or likely to be approving and replying to posts for quite a while after something new or something that’s got messed up. All good fun.

If the hay fever tablets are diphenhydramine, be careful with that, too. It’s an anticholinergic, and taking those regularly (especially as you get older) can lead to a greater risk of dementia. I used to take it to help with sleep, but gave it up.
The antihistamines Citirizine(sp?) is supposed to keep you from getting drowsy, but I find that, although it doesn’t help me fall asleep as much, it does give me a deeper. So I pair that with a little less than a milligram of melatonin (which does make me drowsy). I’m small, so you might need more like 1-2 milligrams of melatonin.
Or, better yet, my dad’s doctor recommended a product called REMfresh, which is a time-release melatonin and works VERY well. The only problem I have with it it’s that I have to make sure I have enough time to sleep a good long time! It says you wake up refreshed, but I can still be a bit groggy from it sometimes when I awaken. (Of course, I don’t know whether they sell REMfresh in the UK…)

Whilst 960 million Game Bucks might seem like a lot to purchase all of the new land, let’s put it into perspective; this is still 40 million Game Bucks less than crafting only two pieces of Gold Road!!! Even though the Gold Road pieces were reduced a while back, they are still ridiculously expensive.
Maybe I need more coffee…….
Downloaded and opened the event this morning. Started taping buildings & noticed GGR gave me a land tile (Yeah! – fingers crossed more land?). Switched to design mode and saw the new land for sale. Used land tile to purchase new piece by sea.
So the question: why are we suppose to save 5 tiles? Or all the tiles? (Note: longtime player with maxed out land prior to this new land dump).

You need 5 Tokens minimum to get through that.
If you haven’t bought the land for tokens because your new or you didn’t get to those yet them make sure to keep 5 TOKENS

Hello, I have GGR and it is showing that it will pay out land tokens again. Should the Prospector’s Shack also be paying out tokens to convert to Deeds? I very recently finished buying all the Frontier Land and PS changed to pay out cash instead of tokens. Thanks in advance 😊
Prospectors shack will only work if you have New Frontier tiles not yet unlocked
Yay!! Bugs and all, this is amazing news!! I’m sorry if I misread, but I’m not sure i understand some of the glitches. I have Golden Goose Realty. After unlocking all the old land it stopped producing land tokens and switched to cash. Since the update, it’s still dropping only cash. No land tokens. Is this normal?
Had you banked a whole load of Tokens or gone and bought all the new land ??
As I understand it that should start paying Tokens again and only stop when the number of Tokens is the same as the number of Land Tiles you have not yet unlocked. I know I noticed the one in my B town did, and that had a few hundred Tokens saved.
If you’re sure yours is only paying $$s and you have land to get then next time you tap to collect store it, so it doesn’t mess the timer up too much, then put it back out again.
If that doesn’t help and you play logged in perhaps uninstall and re-install the game, but don’t do that if you play as anonymous or you’ll lose the lot.
NOTE TO SELF – make sure my post-nuke A town has dug it out of storage !!
Am sure I read that if you leave 1 land tile still available to buy than the golden goose will continue to give land tiles, maybe a past glitch, will test that!!!
Not any more – that knows how many tiles you haven’t unlocked, ignoring SH and the New Frontier where Tokens don’t work anyway, and once the amount of tokens matches the amount of not-yet-unlocked tiles it stops making ’em
Ages back you guys told us to keep one land tile unpurchased otherwise the GGR would switch to $$. At least I think that’s what it was. I did as instructed and am glad to say my GGR is generating tiles again.
The one tile left thing works for the New Frontier to keep the Shack going.
The GGR knows how many tokens you have and how much land left so saving one tile would bank only one token

My towns that big it should be a city, I frequently get lost, the krusty bus acts like a transporter might help?

Side note…Safi..Alissa …and all baseball fans out there ….besides MLB World Series…does it get any better than the Little League World Series?..talk about playing just for the love the game! It’s a quick, fun watch, that can pull at heart strings,..and for some…at certain ages, bring up a lot of great memories.

Interesting, I get one land token a month on average Once I got two. My 7 month town has 6 of them and I know I spent at least two when I first started. I suspect it’s random.
I managed to buy all the tiles available for . I didn’t get free tiles except for one. And nothing available for tokens. Strange. Anyway my town is absolutely huge now. It was about time to get more land.
You started with 4 free Land tiles at level 1 and got a free Ocean tile when you got going on the SH land – they’re shown with no T or $ on them but are in the count of useable tiles etc.
