These are just a few of the FAQ’s I’ve noticed come up a lot with TSTO, and some that are just fun facts to know.
How many characters have been introduced in TSTO to date?
As of Level 32/Krustyland Expansion there are 80 Characters that have been introduced to the game at some point, either as a limited time character or a permanent addition. These include characters that have no tasks and only walk around.
As of 3/14/19 there are 403 playable characters (not including skins) and 144 NPCs.
When I visit my friend’s town why are some of their characters dressed differently than mine?
From time to time EA will introduce a costume for a character, already in the game, that will open up a whole new quest line for that character. Sometimes these costumes come out with a big event (like Christmas and Halloween) and other times they’re introduced as part of a promotion for an upcoming episode of the Simpsons.
As of Level 32 there are 15 total costumes that have been introduced. Out of that 15 only 2 of them are permanent additions (McBain & Kamp Bart), and they both cost donuts to unlock.
What about Chief Wiggum? Doesn’t he have a costume? Sometimes I see him walking around my neighbors Springfield in a dress.
Chief Wiggum does not have a costume, however if you send him on his 24 hour task (Go on a Stakeout) he will walk around Springfield in a dress and blue wig.
How many buildings have been introduced in TSTO to date?
As of level 32 (not including Krustyland) there have been 98 buildings released, between permanent additions, limited-time, and premium.
Do all of the buildings earn money?
No. While almost all of the buildings earn money there are a handful of buildings that do not earn money but have other tasks. Cletus’s Farm does not earn money as the other buildings do instead it earns money through growing crops, Channel 6 earns money through news broadcasts and Open Air Stage earns money through characters performing. While Springfield Downs earns money through betting on the Dog Races.
Town Hall, Moe’s Tavern, Springfield Elementary & the Police Station do not earn money. However, your neighbors can vandalize those buildings with spray paint while visiting and you earn money from cleaning up the spray paint.
Finally, Springfield Retirement Castle is the one building that does not earn money, has no tasks to earn money, and cannot be vandalized. However, it’s a building you must purchase in order to get Grandpa Simpson.
How large can I expand my Springfield to?
Including the water and shoreline Springfield is 18×18.
Krustyland is a 10×10 square.
How much would it cost to purchase all the available land in Springfield?
To purchase all of the land in Springfield, 326 squares, it would cost $44,992,890 game dollars.
To purchase all of the land in Krustyland, 100 squares, it would cost 469,000 tickets.

I am on level 47, and my trees are still golden/yellow and orange colour from Halloween. Are they supposed to be that colour still? Also Bart’s Treehouse has no leaves since the Halloween update. How do I change the colour back to green?

Bounce house. Looking for info. Don’t know how to trigger willies part 2 task. Not sure why it’s in the game and what sort of function it serves. Just the same payout as any other 4 hr task. Is there any reason to leave it in my Springfield if I don’t have a great spot for it (or for some odd reason, just don’t like it)?
Let me ask you this…do you see the Golden Ticket? If so, you probably tapped so fast you completely missed Willie’s task and the questline is done. Once done, Willie can’t bounce. Only kids. So…Golden Ticket equals done.

I’ve been playing anonymously can I login to the organ site and keep my park where it is? Also something that has been bothering me I just started playing on level 15 but how do you guys have so many #$*! Doughnuts and millions of dollars I play almost all day because of my back and I find it fun and addictive since I love the Simpsons, but I would like to get some of these awesome landscapes and landmarks but it takes doughnuts to get ’em and I believe that EA. Sports has enough money charging sixty bucks for Xbox Playstation games is there any way or how do you get to that point without spending real life money or is that the way it is, just curious I love the simpsons thirty years old and have everything simpsons. … and Steelers stuff. But anyways any suggestions would be great thx. Also BTW even though I’m not on the same level as you guys you do a wonderful job with this site trying to help everyone even people like me and I appreciate it. Thank-you. ☺
If you sync the account you’re currently playing on to an Origin account, then yes. You can keep it. 🙂
As far as the $ and donuts. Donuts…most of us buy them or have been playing so long they build up from various events/tasks. Also when you max out your levels you get to play the bonus round for a chance at 1, 2 or 3 donuts for free.
As far as cash…don’t forget many of us have been playing since the start of the game (or at least a year +) and when you’ve played for that long you build up a decent bank account.
I am now at level 27 & have never seen Smithers cone up at all. What do I have to do to start executive lackey pt.2?
Your XP Level is what is listed at the bottom of the screen. Character wise, you need to watch your Game Play Level. What walkthroughs you have completed? What tasks are still open? Etc. Walkthroughs are your Game Play Levels and what determines items unlocked for buying and placement.
Thanks Bunny. My XP is 35616/39160. Game plat level is ghe issue. Smithers should have shown up @ 25 but he didnt. And im sorry I dont know what walk throughs or tasks are. Ive done everything Im aware of except Krusty shuttle but that shoild have anything to do with Smithers…I cant move forward on Burns manner without him

Ok lets see..23: No Kent Brockman – has not appeared but I got post office. Channel 6 is still locked. 24: No Dr Hibbert practice still locked. 25: No Smithers & burns manor & pimento grove both locked. How do I unlock old stuff?
Start on level 22 and see if any tasks left and go from there.
How do I do that? Im on level 27 & have no idea how to change levels
Go to the link I already gave you. Tap on it. Complete ALL the walkthroughs for each level. Once you complete 22, 23 will start. Once you complete 23, 24 will start. And on n on n on. That is the ONLY way to Level Up for Game Play.
I’m on level 36 and only just got Smithers. You just need to work through all the other tasks and build the buildings. Lots of new tasks/characters have multiple dependencies – it’s not just level based. Start the Krusty shuttle, it might be one of the necessary links in the chain.
Also, check your characters’ skins – they might have outstanding tasks you need to complete too.
My levels went much more quickly than the walkthroughs, mainly because of the XPs gained from squishing thousands of aliens.

I want to add friends but I don’t understand why it would make a difference on graffiti? Don’t we all get points either way? Why would someone mind getting graffitied?
It takes a huge hit to your Righteousness rating everytime you are tagged. This impacts the bonus multiplier that people are trying to keep high in their towns on the Conform O meter.
See, I don’t get that… I’ve been tagged a ton of times today and my Righteousness rating hasn’t budged from 5 stars (but I’ve earned $$, XP, and FP for clearing each one!). I’m at Level 47 with about a dozen training walls. Even before I had the training walls and was at lower levels, my Righteousness rating would go up and down seemingly somewhat randomly, regardless of whether I got tagged or not. That said, I do always make sure to catch Sideshow Bob when he shows up! 🚔
Sideshow impacts it. Your criminals too. I got tired of trying to figure out the code for it…soooo…Training Walls hidden all over my town.
Help! I’m on level 45 and just tried to go onto TSTO and its gone back to the beginning!! I have checked that I’m logged under my account and it either goes to level 1 or says I’m logged into another device. I’ve never used another device and completely gutted if I’ve actually lost everything!!
“Other device” is a default message. It means you left the game too soon and it thinks you are still in there. We see it all the time. Just play anyway and continue.

Ever since the last update to level 47 my Righteousness rating dropped down to 2 1/2 stars. I have been at 5 stars forever. I tried buying more training walls and it didn’t even budge it. I have had some graffiti but I cleared it out still no change. What else can I do?
Each new level the requirements to meet the Conform get higher. I just keep adding them til it evens out.
Hello. I’m at level 14…almost to 15, and I’m stuck. I was never able to unlock Bart. I have sent Lisa and Milhouse to school, but it never allowed me to build Bart’s treehouse. Now I can’t advance Hugo. What do I need to do at this point?

Help! I have been visiting my neighbor’s towns and it says daily actions: 3/3. However, when I go to their town there are no rewards available to collect. (No dollar signs above house or buildings.) Why??? I have over 50 friends and this is very annoying.
The probably are Clearing their towns too fast. Not leaving items to tap.
I gotta say, I added my name to a page where people were supposed to NOT graffiti your town… Which is why I posted a ??? in a nother post as to how I can Delete “Friends” from my neighbors to add different more FRIENDLY neighbors.. 🙂
I’m sincerely curious as to why people don’t want their neighbours to graffiti their towns, when it’s the only way you can earn money from the school and town hall?
Righteousness points drop and you lose bonus multipliers for your town.
Buy a dozen or so training walls and that issue disappears. Even before I had those, I found that, if I cleared the graffiti, the points came back fairly quickly (and, sometimes, they didn’t go down in the first place…it always seemed a bit random. Besides, if you’re early enough in the game that you don’t have the training walls, the small multiplier loss is made up for in the earnings that you get when you clear the graffiti. I think people are unnecessarily scared of the graffiti IMHO.
That said, I certainly think that, if someone adds a neighbor from the No Graffiti list, they should certainly respect that!
You lose 5 points from your righteousness rating each time someone vandalizes your town. I’d rather keep my ratings up as much as I can. So figure 3 buildings vandalized is 15 points times multiplied by how many neighbors who do it on a regular basis. It adds up. I know they can’t ALL vandalize due to the amount of buildings able to be tagged but I am level 47 and have TONS of buildings that could be helped rather than being tagged. Not to mention that I met the majority of those friends from a Page where people were supposed to have pledged NOT to do it. Which was my main point in posting this. When it is all said and done, there is nothing I can do to thwart such acts. It was simply an observation. Others had brought it up and I thought I would add my 2 cents. I had neighbors who didnt do anything and needed removing, so I found it a question worthy of being asked.. I hope you all have a fantastic day! Happy Tapping!

Are you asking where do you report them? Or where do you request non tagging neighbors?
Both are pretty much same place. If you see someone tag, put a response on their comment that they did to warn others. We have found many are new to the game and honestly do not realize what tagging means. So they do it. There are also those that may do it intentionally. It is impossible for us to police this, so we ask that you report under their name that they are doing it.

Hi Bunny, I just started adding in friends from this site and noticed that there are a lot of towns that there isn’t anything available to click on. Is this because they’re working on their town or have they clicked on everything themselves? I suppose that also would mean, should I not click on everything in my town or leave extra brown houses for friends to click on?
You want to leave something at all times for them to tap. Brown houses regenerate the fastest, so you can tap them…IF you are gonna be gone at least 2 hours or so. If not, and you are ALWAYS clearing them…then you are leaving nothing for neighbors. Also remember if you need tickets to check Krustyland for tapable items.
Also…you have 24 hrs to get to them…so maybe try again later?
Finally visited Krustyland since its been awhile but noticed the patrons in the park don’t have the tickets over their heads. My rides are okay, just not patrons. Is. This a glitch??

I am trying to start the executive lucky quest and have sent Homer on a shift at the plant for 16 hours 2 times with burns being available at the end of the shift and it has not started.I cannot build the Burns mansion without the quest beginning.please help
Many run into issues with the Hospital and that one. All we can suggest is to contact EA if you can’t get it to trigger and see what they can do to help if you can’t get the walkthroughs to complete.
I just had a strategy idea and I’m wondering if there’s a flaw in it that I’m not seeing…. I have a hot air balloon (from the CoC event), which has a 2% multiplier. It can go in both Springfield and Krustland. So, can I just move the balloon from one location to the other right before I collect task and buildings money and XP for that location, thereby always getting the multiplier?
No. Multipliers in Springfield will not carry over into Krustyland. There is a whole other set of rules for each location.
Wait – really? I could swear when I had the balloon in Krustyland I was getting 2% more tickets, but maybe I imagined that. I guess I’ll need to do a little experimenting…

I did notice in the list of items you can buy in Krustyville… They IS the hot air balloon exactly identical to that available as a prize in CoC!
Maybe this is what they meant?

It is like with the other cross decorations. They give Springfield % but only give Krustyland Krust O Meter points

Just log in n out. That is all. As long as you know your email and password, it should be quick. If you move TOO fast between games, you may see the default of “other device” as it didnt get a chance to sync up and still thinks you are in the game. Just play on and continue.

Hi all! Great site! Love all the knowledge I’ve gleaned so far! But I am slightly confused about one thing. My neigbor-eenos.
I started playing a little ways into the Halloween event and immediately got used to squishing the little green guys, bam! bam! bam! then moving on.
Now, there are all these choices! What’s the best way to help my friends? Because I think all the taps benefit ME the same amount, correct? Which buildings should I aim for to help THEM? Houses? Businesses? Or… Crops? I’m kinda confused.
And what’s the latest info on vandalism? How does it hurt/help them/me exactly? Is it considered rude?
I’m sorry for all the questions, feel free to just point me to somewhere it has already been discussed, I looked thru the tips&tricks posts but there was not a whole lot of detail. Thanks for any info!

Okay, so here’s my specific questions I guess: in MY springfield instead of collecting all my dollar signs immediately, I should now leave them all floating there until they turn into hands? And in THEIR Springfield I tap on their dollar or menu or register sign and earn them more money? But I should NOT tap on the cash piles in friends worlds because that steals them? Sorry for the dumb questions 🙁
No worries. No dumb questions. Yes, leave them for neighbors. However, if it seems you go a long time and no one clears them…like a day…then go ahead and clear them anyway.
As far as your neighbors towns…what you see will not impact them in anyway. Tap on whatever is there to tap (unless it is a spray paint cant…lots of people don’t like to be vandalized…that WILL impact them.)
Money, menus, dollar signs are all good to tap on. You HELP them by doing it. If you go to their Krustyland (when you get to that point) you can also tap tickets to get more tickets for you too. Again, this will NOT hurt them at all. Your taps only show as a handshake to them, nothing more.
This is all making so much more sense now! I got so used to clearing my own houses as soon as they earned signs during the Halloween event because I figured there’d always be plenty of aliens to squish for my friends. Had no idea there were other ways of earning friend points. Gotta kinda rethink my earning strategy here…

IMHO, unless you’ve gotten your friends from the “no vandalization” list, you *should* tap on the spray cans. I want people to do that in my town, because that’s the only way I can’t earn money and XP on those buildings! Also, if I’m playing actively (i.e. not away from the game for several hours or more), I leave my faster-earning buildings (like brown houses and Kwik-E-Marts) untapped, because I know I can clear the handshakes to free them up for tapping again), but I always tap on my longer-time earners, so I can reset their clock ASAP.
Is there something wrong with my strategies that I’m just not seeing?
As they are a new player…I want to make sure I pointed out that part as they are just now getting hang of the game. Many do not know what vandalism is. Especially new players.
As far as the buildings, tapping on the fast generating ones gives you money and also allows for a quick reset for when a neighbor pops on by. The Simpsons and brown house regenerate fast. So there is always something there to tap. The longer taking buildings, well…they take a long long time to regenerate, so if I clear it…that means that house wont be available for 6 8 12 or even 24 more hours for someone to tap on. That is a long time and pulls that building out of the group of ones for neighbors to tap. So it is better to leave it. If I dont see a tap on it once it is finished and a while has passed, then I may clear it.
I don’t know if this is a TSTO question or an iPad question, but, here goes… I currently have notifications turned on for the game. Occasionally, I get a notification that someone’s visited my town. However, I know I’m getting a lot of other visitors (I can see that when I tap tho clear their handshakes). Why do only some visits trigger notifications and not others? How does the game decide which visitors are “notification-worthy”?
Obviously, this really doesn’t matter much in terms of game play, but I’m just really curious to understand it!
It only triggers one. I think if you got 100 notifications a day for every visit on top of all the other ones…you would go mad. Don’t you think?
Well I got three today, so far. Maybe it’s one every so many hours and it’s just whoever hits my town when it’s time to allow a new notification? ITA that I wouldn’t want to get 100 notifications! I’ve already turned off the sound notification, because I had it happen during a few inopportune times (like during a meeting at work…having Homer chime out “If knew we were having visitors, I would have put on pants” was not ideal! LOL).
HAHAHAHAH. It cracks me up. Also, there are TWO notifications spots. One within the app itself, the other linked to the app in your device. (Mine is in the app manager)

When I visit some of my friends towns it says that they have newer content Than I and I need to upgrade but it doesn’t have me click on to anything. What does this mean?
