These are just a few of the FAQ’s I’ve noticed come up a lot with TSTO, and some that are just fun facts to know.
How many characters have been introduced in TSTO to date?
As of Level 32/Krustyland Expansion there are 80 Characters that have been introduced to the game at some point, either as a limited time character or a permanent addition. These include characters that have no tasks and only walk around.
As of 3/14/19 there are 403 playable characters (not including skins) and 144 NPCs.
When I visit my friend’s town why are some of their characters dressed differently than mine?
From time to time EA will introduce a costume for a character, already in the game, that will open up a whole new quest line for that character. Sometimes these costumes come out with a big event (like Christmas and Halloween) and other times they’re introduced as part of a promotion for an upcoming episode of the Simpsons.
As of Level 32 there are 15 total costumes that have been introduced. Out of that 15 only 2 of them are permanent additions (McBain & Kamp Bart), and they both cost donuts to unlock.
What about Chief Wiggum? Doesn’t he have a costume? Sometimes I see him walking around my neighbors Springfield in a dress.
Chief Wiggum does not have a costume, however if you send him on his 24 hour task (Go on a Stakeout) he will walk around Springfield in a dress and blue wig.
How many buildings have been introduced in TSTO to date?
As of level 32 (not including Krustyland) there have been 98 buildings released, between permanent additions, limited-time, and premium.
Do all of the buildings earn money?
No. While almost all of the buildings earn money there are a handful of buildings that do not earn money but have other tasks. Cletus’s Farm does not earn money as the other buildings do instead it earns money through growing crops, Channel 6 earns money through news broadcasts and Open Air Stage earns money through characters performing. While Springfield Downs earns money through betting on the Dog Races.
Town Hall, Moe’s Tavern, Springfield Elementary & the Police Station do not earn money. However, your neighbors can vandalize those buildings with spray paint while visiting and you earn money from cleaning up the spray paint.
Finally, Springfield Retirement Castle is the one building that does not earn money, has no tasks to earn money, and cannot be vandalized. However, it’s a building you must purchase in order to get Grandpa Simpson.
How large can I expand my Springfield to?
Including the water and shoreline Springfield is 18×18.
Krustyland is a 10×10 square.
How much would it cost to purchase all the available land in Springfield?
To purchase all of the land in Springfield, 326 squares, it would cost $44,992,890 game dollars.
To purchase all of the land in Krustyland, 100 squares, it would cost 469,000 tickets.

Digital iTunes card. Or you can go to the store and buy one and just send them the code. Just remember if you’re sending to another country the gift card you buy in your country won’t work.
I got a problem… I am updating my game now after a few second or minutes its say “cannot connect to server” i have tried everything
i uninstall and install it again, force the app, restart my device.. Need help

Hmmmm…. That might explain why their server status page shows everything is up, while lots of people are posting everywhere that they can’t get in and EA has acknowledged that there’s a problem.

Yes, the servers are back up (as of about 20 minutes or so ago, I think).
SAm’s Twitter site says that Origin is down and they’re working to restore it. They didn’t provide any ETA.

I just opened my Simpsons and I got the message ‘ cannot open Origin network at this time and please try again later’. Probably not word for word but thats basically what it said. Has that ever happened to anyone else? This is the first time its happened to me.

The caged turkey thats available for purchase now , is it the Turkey I see running around my neighbors streets? Is it a roving permanent npc?
Roaming turkey is from last year. Tom Turkey stays in his cage.
I rearranged my town a bit, and now I noticed that stuff disappeared from my inventory. There are definitel two of the Valentine hammocks missing, not really sure if that’s the only thing, because I don’t really keep track of what’s in there. Any idea how I can get them back? Thanks!

How do u remove a. Facebook friend? They never play anymore but it dora not give me the opinion to delete them if they r from just Facebook. And dora this person count towards my 100 friends if thechnically they are not origin and just Facebook.

I really need new land as I have run out of space. Do you know when new land will be released? I really enjoy my town layout and don’t want to start having to squash buildings together. Also I am not buying new premium buildings as I have nowhere to put them.
They just released some couple months back. Dunno when more. Took them a while to do that.

Is it better to just let ur finished houses sit there until a neighbor comes along and tags it or is it better to just tap it urself as soon as it’s ready to get the que going again. I have full friends but sometimes it seems like my pink or white house will sit there if I wait long enough and someone will finally tag it but is it better for me to just go ahead and restart it so it doesn’t take longer to restart que? I’m just so confused on how the neighbor thing really works all together
With Friendship Points, the only way for your neighbors to have something to tap on is if you leave some rents uncollected. If you tap everything, your friends can’t visit and start to get frustrated. Some buildings rents take longer than others but the good news is the timers restart when your neighbors tap them. My advice is to always leave some based on how often your friends visit.
If it helps, I usually leave all of my low-value houses and businesses (like my Kwik-E-Marts) untapped for my neighbors to tap and collect from my high-value buildings as soon as the come due, to reset the clock. This only works because I play constantly throughout the day, so I can keep clearing the low-value building’s handshakes in time to make room for more. But I’ve noticed that my strategy does seem too leave enough for neighbors to tap on overnight, because there are always a few buildings left still untapped when I check in in the morning.
Do you guys have any idea how long it takes the ea team to rectify their mistakes? I bought the Tom turkey and unlocked Stewart but both are nowhere to be found. Tom is still available but I’m not spending another 100 donuts for something I should have. They said they’re escalating but I don’t know how long that’ll be.
It depends on how easy the fix is and how many people have issues. Returning items is usually a much quicker fix than some things. The longest I have ever waited was 3 1/2 weeks but that was a major bug in my game. Best advice is patience and periodically asking for status updates with them.
When you get to the max Friendpoint level, you get triple $$ and XP. Do you also get triple tickets, if you visit friends’ Krustylands instead?

In case I’ve haven’t mentioned it often enough or recently enough, I think you three are terrific moderators and your site is a crucial part to my enjoyment of the game… I used to be a moderator for an iVillage discussion board, but the traffic there wasn’t nearly as great as what you have to deal with here (and I didn’t have to also write blog posted on top of that), so I can really appreciate what it takes to do what you do. Oh, I thought maybe since you don’t get $$ in Krustyland, that perhaps they triple the tickets instead. Thanks for clearing that up for me…I’ll probably stick to visiting Springfields then for now!

Hey guys, I don’t understand what’s going on, but ever since yesterday afternoon, I haven’t been able to play my game. Some update is trying to happen 13.6 MB, but all it’s doing is stalling out after about 15 seconds and I get the cannot connect to server message. My internet is great, my tablet has lots of space and memory. I cleared my caches, even uninstalled the game, and re-installed from the play store. The initial install went perfect, but then it wouldn’t take the 13.6MB update. I don’t know what to do. I’ve contacted EA, but haven’t heard anything back. I had just purchased another 300 donuts the day before getting ready for Christmas event, so I’m hoping I can get this straightened out soon.
When you say you have memory…how much? My app takes 2GB alone and then some of space. So I give it MORE than that for when an update hits. Internet, do you use WiFi or data plans? My advice…clear about 4GB of space for the game and see what happens. (This is main reason I store it on an external memory card.)
Hi Bunny. Well, its day three and still no luck updating. Last night I reset my tablet, erasing everything. After creating a new google account, I installed TSTO from the play store. It installed the game, and is doing the exact same thing again. Brings me to the tap out screen, downloading 0.0 of 13.6 MB, then the cannot connect to server message. I’m using WiFi and my signal says excellent. 4 GB RAM. EA still hasn’t replied, it will have been 48 hours by lunchtime. This really sucks. I have no idea what else I can do. I figured resetting my tablet would have fixed the issue. Hopefully I’ll hear from them today.
I am having the same problem. it says downloading updates 3/3 (0.4/13.6MB) and hangs up then it says cannot connect to server. I have tons of space too 9GB free on device and 7GB free on card. I have cleared the cache also. I have WiFi.
What’s going on?
All we can suggest is the basic troubleshooting, beyond that…contacting EA would be the next step.
I am really upset I have been playing this game for 3yr and all the money and donuts are gone I had over 5000 donuts and lots of money I buy donuts all the time where did it go and I won’t it all back I have some of my house but not all of them. I play the game the right way don’t Chet please help me get my things back thank you
Not sure what you’re saying. What happened to it? Did your account roll back to level 1? Can you be a little more specific so we can direct you properly?
I think it is wrong to ask for tasks to see a first episode of The Simpsons. These episodes are presented in the US on Fox channel, and to me, that I live in Croatia, these channels are not available. I think that this should change.
Hello! I’m a freemium player and I made some stupid choices with the ocean expansions I’ve bought (I wanted a rectangular town). I’m regretting those purchases now and am wondering if it could be made possible to sell land back. I just really want to make my Squidport smaller so I could expand farther west without having to spend hundreds of thousands to avoid having an uneven town. Not sure if this makes sense and I’m probably the Tapper crazy enough to want to get rid of land anyway…

If I choose to “blow up” my Springfield and put everything in inventory, do my characters continue their jobs in progress? And do buildings still earn money?
If you nuke it, no buildings will not earn money as they are all in inventory. Characters are linked with their buildings, so they get pulled into inventory too. Only ones that stay are Homer, Lisa, and Simpsons home mainly. Few other items.
I think I know the answer to this, but I just want to make make sure… Once I’ve built Bloaters, I’m finished building any non-premium buildings for Squidport (not including decorations, like the Tiki Bar), at least until there’s an update, right? I’m just trying to decide if, now that I’ve got Bloaters under construction (finally!), I don’t need to worry about building any more boardwalk tiles to make room for any more buildings.

Nope. Once bought, it is yours forever.
Since the halloween update has gone away I have not been getting any notifications from when characters are done with tasks, I have the updates on in the settings menu on the app and on my phone notifications are also on.

How do you delete a friend town that doesn’t give you option to delete in origin?? I think it’s a FB friend town
You have to UNlink your Facebook from the game and remove ALL FB friends or UNfriend them on your Facebook.
Hi, question please. I’ve noticed some of my neighbors have the santa from last year fly across there springfield. I tried to look in my inventory for mine but can find it. I had it last xmas how do i get it back?
It would be a skin for Homer. Santa Homer. And it would be one of his tasks.
