Questline with Dialog:
Social Status, part 1:
Susan: You wanted to talk to me, Mr. Blue-Haired Lawyer?
Blue Haired Lawyer: Yes. Miss…
Susan: Just call me Susan. May I call you Blue?
Blue Haired Lawyer: I wish you wouldn’t. Susan, I was told by your compatriots that you would be a perfect fit for a project the club has put together since returning to Springfield.
Susan: Well, if they’ve volunteered me for it, who am I to refuse?
Blue Haired Lawyer: Then come with me and I’ll explain everything.
• Make Susan Plot the Downfall of Her Frenemies – 4 hours
• Make the Blue-Haired Lawyer Carefully Not Get Involved – 4 hours
Susan: So, I’m being asked to promote the club in Springfield by pandering and humiliation?
Blue Haired Lawyer: We prefer the phrase “engaging the community in giving back to those in need”.
Susan: So, pandering and humiliation.
Blue Haired Lawyer: You are correct.
Reward: 100 $$s, 10 XP
Social Status, part 2:
Susan: Marge Simpson? It’s good to see you again after all this time.
Marge: Hello Susan. And we both know you don’t mean that.
Susan: I didn’t realize you would be at the church today. I was hoping to discuss a matter with Reverend Lovejoy.
Marge: The Lovejoys are at a retreat, and asked me to cover the church’s office in their absence.
Susan: That seems like something that Ned Flanders would have done.
Marge: Ned is a very kind man but leaving him alone in the church is like leaving a kid alone in a candy shop.
Susan: I suppose that’s true. Then joy of joys — we shall be working together again.
Marge: As Homer says, “Praise Jebus”.
• Make Susan Explain the Club’s Plan – 4 hours
• Make Marge Try to Be Polite – 4 hours
Marge: So the club is offering to provide help to those who are less fortunate?
Susan: Exactly.
Marge: Why do I get the feeling this isn’t quite as simple as all that?
Susan: Hmm. You’re sharper than I gave you credit.
Marge: And I’m also sharp at seeing through your backhanded compliments.
Reward: 100 $$s, 10 XP
Social Status, part 3:
Lisa: Mom, maybe she really is trying to help, but has to keep up her façade of callous indifference to maintain her social standing.
Marge: I know you try to see the good in everyone, but don’t do that with Susan. She has none.
Lisa: Well, what if I offered to work with her on this so you didn’t have to?
Marge: Oh, honey. I know you’re trying to help, but you shouldn’t have to deal with her.
Lisa: I can handle her. This way, if I’m correct, then I’ll be able to help people in need!
Lisa: And if you’re correct, well, we can call it one of those important life lessons…like the ones you’re still trying to teach Dad.
• Make Susan Review Donations – 4 hours
• Make Lisa Help Susan – 4 hours
Susan: Well, well. You’ve certainly got a good head on your shoulders.
Lisa: I get it from my father. He’s not the smartest man in town, but I inherited the strength of his thick skull. My brain is locked safely inside my noggin.
Susan: How delightful. If you unlock some of those brains with me, I think we’ll get along quite well.
Reward: 100 $$s, 10 XP
Social Status, part 4:
Susan: Lisa, with your help, we’ve managed to sort the useful items from the pile of junk the city dumped at our feet.
Lisa: I probably should have warned you that a sign reading “Accepting All Donations” would have resulted in becoming a trash heap.
Susan: Now all that’s left is for me to bestow all this on those in need.
Lisa: Are you sure you don’t want help?
Susan: No. It’s important that Springfield know this help is being given to them by a member of the Springfield Glen Country Club.
Lisa: Wait. So this has just been a publicity stunt this whole time?
Susan: There’s that brain of yours being used again, Lisa. You might want to lock it back in your thick skull for now.
• Make Susan Hand Out Donations – 4 hours
• Make Lisa Follow Her Around – 4 hours)
Lisa: Ah-hah! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!—HUH?
Lisa: I don’t understand. You’re actually out here trying to do good things for people?
Susan: I have to keep up a façade of callous indifference to maintain my social standing.
Lisa: That’s…exactly what I said you were doing to my mother! And she said that adults don’t do that!
Susan: Oh, adults definitely do.
Lisa: Miss Susan. I’m so glad you let me tag along and help out.
Susan: I am, too.
Susan: Now swear to never tell a single soul about this, and tell your mother that I was horrible the whole time.
Lisa: I’d be happy to!
