What EA said:

Ned Flanders comes to church hot under the collar when he learns that Springfield Desert State Park has a new feature: the Devil’s Oasis. Intrigued, Lisa looks up information on it on her myPhone and learns about the desert chameleons, a rare breed of lizard that lives there. She thinks they’ll make a great science fair project for next year and wants the family to make a trip out to the park, but they’re not very interested. Lisa figures that she’ll have to convince her family to take a family drive out to Springfield Desert Park one at a time. Teaming up with Maggie, she first convinces Marge (largely through Maggie’s cuteness). Lisa thinks Bart is going to try to jam her up, but he’s surprisingly on board, figuring anything named after the Devil has to be awesome or so lame it’ll ruin Lisa’s day. Last up is Homer, who has no interest in going anywhere until he realizes that Flanders has realized that Homer has stolen his new recliner. Soon the family is in the car and heading out into the desert for a long drive. Very long. So long that Homer decides to liven things up by doing donuts in the sand, after which they arrive at the park only to learn that the Devil’s Oasis is just a burning hole in the ground that’s perpetually on fire. Lisa isn’t disappointed, though, as she’s gotten lots of info on the desert chameleons for her science project. Tired and ready to head home, the Simpsons’ car promptly breaks down from all the sand that got in the engine from Homer’s donuts.

Is it just me or did anybody else in the UK not get the donut day 2024 come up on their game?

  2. …it looks like we can’t put cactus on sand tiles?? 🙁

    • From what I could tell and a very quick check, if it goes on Dirt then it goes on Sand.

There’s also a Ground Tiles Trick:

Firstly you need a ” big item ” in inventory. It doesn’t have to be huge, just enough to cover what you want to do, and it can’t just be something that is in your town that you pick up and move.

Place the items you want on the Ground Tiles onto Grass, exactly where you want them to be. If you want to move anything you’ll need to repeat all these steps.

Open your inventory and place that big item over the top. It’ll have a red footprint and not allow you to put it there, just hit that X to send it back to storage.

Place your chosen Ground Tiles and they’ll now go under the items you placed in the beginning.

  3. I’ve been an issue with the new Camouflaged Intentions update. Whenever I receive a prize for completing the quests, I can’t actually see the prizes(desert tree, oil rig) when I try to use them. I only see a “check mark” to approve the spot or and “X” to exit. And when I do attempt to use the prizes, the game automatically tries to set the prize on my beach front(by the docks/wharf) which I’m guessing it’s cuz the beach is sand, but the game still doesn’t show me the prizes, just a “check mark” and “X”. And I’ve also made an entire desert with the sand terrain prize, but the game still autos the prizes to my beach.

    • Do you play logged in to an EA Account or as Anonymous ??
If, and only if, you are logged in then try an uninstall and re-install.
It shouldn’t be doing that – the tree and oilwell go on grass if you want.

You just reminded me – you can’t group-select those sand tiles. I’ll go flag that.

  4. We also need to increase the maximum number of building and decorations that the game can handle. Would be nice if I didn’t have to keep putting items in storage every time a new challenge comes out.

  5. Anybody having problems with the store? I don’t have the option to buy donuts so I can’t get Sprinkles….

  6. I found a clown walking around and tapped him. Can’t believe there was one of them still around.

  7. I was caught off guard, didn’t realize there wasn’t a down week. Happy I checked in today with the addicts because I would have no idea a new content update had even started.
A lot of Tappers will be understandably upset because this update is a land hog which a lot of players do not have, especially since it’s been a long time since that the last release of the Golden Goose Realty.
I’m fortunate in that I have space in my NW passage for development. I’m even happier that being from New Mexico- a desert region rife with artistic communities like Santa Fe, Mountainair, Taos and others- it feels like an update just for me. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the Gil deal. Truly, one tappers trash is another’s treasure. It all depends on your life experience. <3

  8. I was excited to see “land tile” in the prize track, only to realize it’s just sand squares and NOT A LAND EXPANSION. I’m out of real estate so I won’t be playing this event. C’mon EA.

    • I made a point of changing the description to Ground Tile to make it clear it wasn’t new land – it would’ve been helpful if they had given us more room to play with though …

      • Love this – thanks for the description. Not sure why I’m tapping chameleons at this point, as doesn’t add money or XP. Bought Sprikles right away – a cute dog who finds donuts?! I’m sold. First time I ever veered away from my Freemium player status.

    • I’m just thinking about how I can regig my land to make things fit. We really need more land added to the game.
