New Year, I think it’s time for a new Open Thread…so I wanted to pop in here quickly with a clean, open thread for you all.
I hope everyone is doing well. Life continues to be insane for me! Three kids (now 10, 7, and 4), all in sports and various activities, plus running a business, PTO, and everything else, it’s a lot! Making it all work though!
Of course, I miss TSTO, but more importantly, I miss this community!
I will forever cherish the friends and friends who are now family that I’ve made from this community over the years! Sam and I even got to spend some time in Disneyland this past June with my favorite Wookiee family!
Hope you all are doing well, and know that I’m always thinking of you all, this site, and that silly lil game we all bonded over!

Is there anyone who can walk me through setting up my original TSTO town on Project Springfield? I mean, I’m kinda technology savy but I just. can’t get it to run. It’s great playing this game again, but come on, I have like 14 years playing on my TSTO town. Ridiculous amount of hours. Can someone help, please?
Try discord, project springfield, download the app and register for full help from the developers, lots of support and help available including how to do.

On iOS that sideloadly thingamajig may perhaps cause issues but I don’t have an iOS device to test.
The android APK won’t be a problem, as long as you get it from them and turn off the unknown apps doodad after.

I’m still around and checking for comments to approve as often as I can but it’s been a mad few months here
I only have my phone and tablet. It’d be costly if I had to replace either.
I did download and backup my town from that one website so I do have it even if I don’t use it.
Yeah but we don’t know the exact process for comment approvals, at least I don’t.
I don’t comment a whole lot so being logged out hasn’t bothered me. Though I can understand it’d be annoying and frustrating.

They added a chat (room) feature to Word Press but I hesitate to activate it. So many dang bots around these days!
Found this mini doc the AP did on the Show’s 800th episode if anybody cares to watch it. I wish they interviewed more of the voice talent but it still really good and interesting.

I think I sent you an email a while ago about the Project Springfield private server. Maybe it’s something you could share with those who still want to continue playing the game?
Valentines day event 2014 has hit springfield one more, had a look through the archive post but couldn’t see if I posted anything back then for this event, was fun reading through some of the post.
Haven’t played for some time now, and seeing it got shut down brought tears.😢 Loving that the community is still active and charming.😄 I miss the TSTO.

Hi Sandra..I had the weird feeling of wanting to check in…so Hi Sandra…hope you & Mom are doing well. Things are still tolerable here…unfortunately it’s just a matter of time. Cold winter here in the Great Northern Maine…but storms fell in good patterns, so the shoveling, roof, driveway, path to oil tank,, hasn’t been too rough. Lots of cold tho… negative temps very common this winter. -35 coldest so far…not counting wind chill. Oil is at approximately 3.77$ per gallon…since November….I’ve gone through approximately 350-400 gallons….thermostat set at 60-62 F.
Interesting that you felt compelled to check in today…it’s my birthday! Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, I’m sick on my birthday. 😔 Last year it was the flu with a high fever; fortunately, this year, it’s just a cold, with a low-grade fever (hopefully….I just started getting sick yesterday, so I’m hoping this is all this turns out to be).
It’s been very cold and snowy in Massachusetts this year…yes, the cold is expensive, but I prefer it to snow, because at least you don’t have to shovel cold! 😄 Otoh, my poor husband had to get up several times in the middle of the night to run the heat and hot water (to make sure that our pipes didn’t freeze) during the low single-digit and below zero nights.
Mom is doing okay-ish…thanks for asking after her! She had some very concerning kidney values in her latest blood tests, but she’s seeing a nephrologist next month, so we’ll have a better idea of how serious her prognosis is then. But, otherwise, she’s feeling okay and in generally good spirits.

Sandra…I do hope you and yours are doing well. I wasn’t aware of your husband, but I hope you are both doing well..along with your Mom, of course. My Mom is still doing ok..Parkinson’s is rough, but unlike Alzheimer’s or dementia, her mind is pretty good…unfortunately, she gets upset that she can’t control the pen…to write the answers in the crossword .
Sorry to hear that about your mom, Mike. Parkinson’s is nasty… I had an step-aunt with that as well as a good friend of my parents. My mom is doing OK as are the rest of us thankfully. Thanks for checking in again!
I don’t think I would have kept playing the game without the community on this website.
Nice to see a new post and some familiar names, playing project springfield but it’s not the same, happy 2026 to all, hope to see more post in the future

Good to hear from you Alissa. Time flies. It’s crazy your oldest is ten. My youngest will be ten in a few months. Crazy to think she wasn’t even born when I started playing TSTO.
It is absolutely insane! It’s crazy to think of all the things that have changed since this game started (Even this site!).
Miss it big time here in the UK and I too felt boundaries eroded and a great sense of a warm community – thanks in many many ways to you and your team.
So I guess The Simpson Tapped Out is gone for good? I thought there was someone that was going to take it over? I have saved my game until I hear more, I might be way behind times. If I am just let me know, best game ever!
There are some private server options, but no gaming house would formally take it over unfortunately.

I did briefly, but honestly it’s been so hectic I haven’t touched it since last spring. Occasionally I’ll play Royal Kingdom, but even my time for that is limited these days!
It was a fun addictive game and I miss spending all the gazillions et al. Too bad, so sad.

She’s 10 now?!? I remember meeting her when she was just a baby! I swear, nothing makes me feel older than my friends’ kids! 😄
Isn’t it crazy?! She’s 10, in competitive dance (she has a solo this year!) and is doing the spring musical at school this year (they’re doing Into the Woods, and she got cast as one of the step sisters). A far cry from the little baby who used to sit on my lap during Addicts Live!
And the boys, man they’re insane! Sam is in travel soccer every season except spring, when he plays baseball and Teddy is doing soccer and will start T-Ball in the spring! My life is absolutely INSANE with their schedules!
And yes, I feel extremely old these days! Although Sam genuinely thinks I’m 29 so I will take it! 🤣🤣
Wow, sounds like the kids are doing great and you’re hanging on to at least a thread of sanity with your hectic schedule! 😉😄 Having a solo is huge in competitive dance….with all the seasons of Dance Moms (and all of its variations) that I’ve watched, I should know! 😄😄 And I was kinda a theater kid myself, so that part sounds great, too!
How far does Sam have to travel for “travel soccer”? I’ll admit I’m not that familiar with the world of kids sports (did I mention I was more of a theater kid? 😄). Sports weren’t huge in my school in NYC (no field for playing soccer/football/baseball) at the school I went to for 7th-12th grade, which was in a five or six story building, with a playground on the roof. (We did have a gym, though…some kids did play basketball there, in addition to our having regular gym classes.)
But I digress… Great to hear from you, Alissa, and thanks for the update! 🙂
