In-Game Update: Season 33 Prize Track

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It looks like EA is once again breathing a little bit of new life into TSTO and trying something different again!  Well…kinda something old, but a different spin on it!

Folks, it looks like episode tie-ins are back!
But in a new way….

We haven’t seen an episode tie-in in TSTO since 2018!  After being such a fun part of the game since its inception, it’s really nice to see them make a comeback with the start of Season 33 this weekend!

Now, these episode tie-ins will be a bit different than what we’re traditionally used to…and honestly I’m ok with that! It looks like EA is putting a new spin on things, and an attempt to make it more fun and link it directly to the episodes.

So what’s this all about?  Well, let me break down as much as I know so far…

Showoff Announcement: Breakout Bounty

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Addict Designers!  We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff, and this time around I want to see what you’ve done with the Breakout Bounty mini-event stuff! With new and old buildings and decorations arriving with this event, show me how you fit them into your Springfield!   So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

As always please remember to limit it to 1-2 of your favorite areas/photos…we can’t show your whole town unless you want to send in your entire town via town portrait.

So use this time to polish up your town and show us how creative you can be!  Send in your Bounty Hunter-inspired designs (by 8 pm ET Tuesday, September 28th) and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post featuring your designs on Wednesday, September 29th.

Remember, your designs can be anything and everything from the Breakout Bounty mini-event, new and old, and how you worked it into your Springfield

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8 pm ET Tuesday, September 28th, can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images in the comments below or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Lots of things you may have missed this week around the Addicts Site:

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

Hey Addicts, Caption This!

Sometimes TSTO gives us humorous little moments when we capture our characters doing rather strange things.  These posts are all about those strange and funny moments!

When we can, we’ll be posting a “Caption This!” moment where we want you, the Addicts readers, to put on your writing caps and come up with what you think is happening in the screenshot. Post your captions in the comments below. We can’t wait to see how creative and funny you guys can be!

Hey Addicts… Caption This!

This Caption This! image is brought to us by TomSwift79…

So go ahead and caption away!

If you’ve got an image you’d like to submit for a “Caption this!” post, email it to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com you never know when yours might be next!

Should You Buy Daisy McGunnan?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Spending actual cash on donuts for a character is back in TSTO.  This is something EA’s been rolling out over the last few years, and it’s a new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them)  Where they attach a premium, limited-time, character to one of the donut bundles sometimes in addition to bonus donuts.

And I want to be perfectly clear…you do not need to buy these characters to complete an event.  You can still play this game, and complete all the tasks and prizes, 100% free.  These cash-for-character items are a new type of premium currency…because donuts have been so devalued with donut farming.

This time around we’re being offered Daisy McGunnan,  a premium character, for a tray of 132 Donuts ($9.99 in the US)..no bonus this time around.  While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Daisy, tasks, questline and other details you may be curious about.

So let’s consider this an abbreviated Should I Buy….
