Well, somehow my game hit 30,000 gold twice today (once on my phone, once on tablet) and so I received two catapults. Not complaining…just weird. Nothing else happening in the game (like Artie’s task or building a boardwalk section) reverted back, just gold tally. Odd.
lol that is weird…but hey 2 catapults is an AWESOME bonus! 🙂
Hi tstoaddicts staff, so this is my first event that I actually managed to complete to the end of the prizes, I was just wondering what happened to these instant gratification items (called cheaters 20 in this event but I’m sure there’s been different versions of this kind of item in previous events) after the event is over? Since these items like the cheaters 20 won’t have any use after the event are they converted to donuts. I don’t feel like using them now that I’ve got all the prizes and each of them are 9 donuts which means I can profit a lot from saving these. If so, then I need to be saving up the few free ones I get from defending my town from others as I can get a lot of donuts after the event is over. I appreciate any help I can get as I’m relatively still new to the game but have gotten decently leveled up so far (lvl 35).
We never know how EA will end an event. Majority of the time…EVERYTHING gets removed as far as event currency once event ends. Like Elixr, cheaters, and gold.
After the game is over, what happens to all of your gold and elixir?
Like the currency from other events, it will all go to the land of lost pixels so use your elixir for what you want before it’s all over. I picture a limbo somewhere full of dead nerds, elixir, goo, eggs, gold, and hearts.
Why did my truck load of exile turn into a bundle of exile on the
Not sure what your question was. If you’re referring to the personal prize, EA always intended it to be a bundle. There was some confusion at the beginning of the event but it was fixed with an update.
I was playing around on my B-town and I discovered castle pieces go on the beach!
nice!
All of my castles are at Level 19, so I’m getting 90 Nerds every 2 hours with a maximum capacity of 130. No point in going to Level 20, since that will increase my defense and make it harder for invaders to do well when they visit. And Level 21 is right out… why spend more than 10,000 Elixir to upgrade and get a free wall segment that would only cost 100 Elixir to just buy? (Well, I suppose Lisa’s and Bart’s castle walls cost donuts, so perhaps I should rethink my strategy a little here.)
I’ve been raking in Elixir and Gold, over 20,000 and 9,000 daily of each. Here’s how:
– Before midnight, I send all of my nerds out to attack randomly-owned castles. Only castles, not houses. And only those castles that can be defeated in 18h or less. Takes a while (15-20 minutes) but once they’re all out I shut the game down, go to bed, go to work, and come home.
– After 6pm (remember, 18h), I open the game. Every one of my nerds, whether defended against or not, garners 140 Elixir and 50 Gold for me.
– I immediately take the 90 new nerds I get and send them out, attacking random towns and taking on the first things they see.. castles (preferably) or houses, doesn’t really matter.
– After 8pm (at least 2h after the 6pm raid), I go get my next batch of 90 new nerds. I hold 40 of them back, sending out only 50, again attacking anything they can.
– After 10pm, I get my final batch of 90 nerds for the evening. They, plus the 40 I held back from the 8pm raid, give me 130 nerds to attack with. They go out to attack castles only (like at the top of this loop).
130 Nerds earning 140 Elixir and 50 Gold each is approx 18,000 Elixir and 6,500 Gold per night… plus whatever Elixir/Gold the 6pm and 8pm raiders get for me. Typically, it’s 20,000 and 9,000 daily.
Right now, I have nearly 120,000 Elixir and 110,000 Gold. I don’t expect to play every single day over then next 4 weeks, but I anticipate I’ll have between 500K and 700K Elixir to spend near the end of the event. That’s a LOT of castle walls…. so I’m hoping EA comes out with some really expensive Elixir-purchasable items soon (like a Trojan Horse or a Ballista or an Archery Target/Range, etc).
If not, then I’m going to end up with a ridiculous number of castle walls, gates, towers, banners, stocks, hay carts, and windmills.
When you say you attack ‘randomly owned’ towns, do you mean your new unfriended intruder towns or your neighbours? And if you do mean only the intruders, how does this help your loyal neighbours?
I haven’t seen this part spelled out before, although maybe I just didn’t look hard enough? I’ve only started playing during the event.
When I visit a neighbor’s Springfield, even after spending my 5 attacks, I have never seen a house ready to collect (aside from the Simpson house). It seems like, if a house is ever capable of being attacked, it can’t be “collected” during this event. Is this true?
If so, that means my neighbors only have 4 different buildings they can collect right now, and the cheap houses I bought to try to help out are only useful as attack targets.
When you visit, you won’t see whether the houses have dollar signs. The ability to attack them is separate from the rent aspect. Your neighbors can independently collect rent without effecting your ability to attack. Does that clear it up for ya?
When the event isn’t on, can neighbors collect rent on my houses? For some reason I assumed that they could, so I was surprised that (it seems that) they can’t during the event.
Yes. During regular gameplay, all the houses will revert back to normal rent.
OK, clear now. Thanks!
It just makes me feel bad for my neighbors since I have so few non-house buildings right now for them to collect. Hopefully I’m clearing handshakes fast enough!
I was wondering how many upgrades are there to the castles is it even worth going the all the way or just start buying stuff with elixar my castles are almost at level 20 now
It can go one and on honestly…
Personally I stopped leveling them up after 20…
So I’ve completed the event. I have all the prizes and a bunch of the extra stuff that costs elixir. My elixir count is at 30 or 40 thousand and my gold is at 40 or 50 thousand. Now, for every 8,000 gold I now get a whopping 1,000 elixir. What am I supposed to do with all the extra elixir. In the stone cutters event they gave us donuts for every extra X after getting all the prizes. I don’t see the point in continuing to play along with the event if I’m getting useless elixir. Any ideas?
You can always buy any decorations you want. Castle level ups give walls at 20 on up. I’d say keep playing if only to help your neighboreenos.
Whats the best way of getting gold and elixars?
Personally I’ve completed it all by doing 1 nerd per building on random towns twice a day….especially make an effort to do it at night before bed and usually when I wake up I have a TON of gold waiting 🙂
I only attacked using the the attack icon(not friends) And only sent one nerd per building. Generally it was buildings in towns with shorter attack times like 10 to 15 hrs. I figured that some people only check their towns once a day so the odds of destroying a building in that time period would be greater.
OK I was trying to stock up on castle walls and stick them in my inventory for future use. Twice when I reached 31 extra (I think I have ten on my actual castle) the ones I already had in my inventory vanished! And yes I was buying more not using my inventory lol
Can anyone else store more than 30?
I was going to save 100
I haven’t tried yet…Hmmm. Let EA know in the meantime.
New stuff! Windmills, two storey toilets, twonicorn, a guillotine and more!
Does “Other Springfield” ever defend?
No.
Has the glitch where you lose all of the shields in your town if you go to Krustyland been fixed yet?
Not as far as we know. Few players still reporting it happening to them…
Based on how they’ve run old events (I’ve been playing since New Year’s) any chance they add new items or anything else to do with elixir? I completed all of the personal prizes a week ago and leveled all three castles to 20, so from here on out it looks like castle pieces, stocks, carts, and red banners are the only uses for elixir. I guess I’ll probably just end up with enough pieces to make a whole bunch of castles…
For anybody interested, I always go to random towns and drop one nerd per building. I haven’t spent any donuts on the event.
We hope EA has more planned but only time will tell. I’d be surprised if we didn’t see at least a level update. Really hope it comes this week with something else in 2 weeks.
Defend or not?
Defend
This event is fun. I don’t know what people are complaining about not getting elixir and gold. I send all 50 nerds out to attack random villages, 1 nerd to 1 building. When I go to work or bed, I log on after and I am always rewarded with around 2 – 3k elixir and around half that in gold. You still get a token amount of elixir and gold even if the owner defends their village almost straight away, I think its something like 20 e and 10 gold or 10 – 5. I don’t spend real money, and have very nearly completed all. I’m currently spending my elixir on building a wall around my Springfield. I just wish there were a few more castle related items to decorate with.
Add me. I visit my neighbors everyday.

I’ve already finished everything (all free) and there are still five weeks to go! Yawn.
Me too meg. Haha high 5! ^.^
I think this event is cool for the most part. However, I am kind of behind. I’m trying to find the best strategy (invading random towns that aren’t my neighbors seems to work best) but I feel like I’m moving at a snails pace. Acquiring elixir is my biggest gripe and I wish the payout was automatically bigger for tasks and that leveling up wasn’t a requirement for it. Even though the event last for another month, I don’t think I Will get all of the prizes. Anyhoo, I love this blog it has become very helpful for events and knowing more about the simpsons. Plz keep up the awesome work!!!
I’m loving the event in conjunction with #everysimpsonsever. Most especially I like invading towns I have never had a window into before. I prefer the anonymous raiding and larping. While I’ve seen a lot of Dud towns I’ve also seen some great ideas, noobs, and other inspirational Cheerios. I prefer the nerds to bunnies (sorry Bunny) and think I can make castles work for now. No one said we had to keep them in our towns forever, right? I’ll have plenty of grass space if I tuck them into storage later. I took advantage of Gil before the event so I must confess I sped a lot of the event up so as to be sort of regretting that now…D’OH!
Why does this event have to go so long? They made it too easy to get the prizes quickly and now still over a month to go?! Yawn. Enjoyed it at the start but am already over it
Lots of players still behind so while I wish it wasn’t so long, I’m happy other tappers get a chance for everything.
Got all the prizes and finished the questline without using any donuts. Like going to invaders town, most of my gold came from when users did not clean up. Bonus got 15 donuts when Bart, Lisa & Homer dig for gold!!! Now I have received everything for every 8,000 gold they give 1,000 exliers. Bummer!!!! They should give more donuts once finished.
It would have been nice.
Perhaps EA could add a ‘community prize’ system around gold earned, similar to Christmas 2013. That would at least stretch out until October …
I would also like to point out that Crypto should probably just get a new iPad. Mine works fine. And this event (IMO) is pretty awesome.
My iPad is brand new. However, something must have been screwy because it finally hung and crashed for good while I was playing TSTO, and it took over a half hour for me to get it to come back alive. Now, I can finally go to other towns to attack, and leave nerds uncollected without losing them. So that is good, and corrects one of my major frustrations that caused my long post.
However, I still don’t care for this event. I still have items that I have “won” that I still can’t use.. I assume I have to hit the right task in the story and. I haven’t done that.
I also don’t care for the castle decorations for my Springfield. This is a personal preference, I know…. But I see no connection between this event and the show.
But my biggest complaint is the nerd usage…. Two problems. First, the game rewards you for visiting strangers over your own neighbor-eenos, which is counter to everything this game stands for. And also, there doesn’t appear to be a sliding scale for scoring elixer or gold. It is basically a pass/fail game…. How is this fun?
The scoring is a thinly veiled disguise for EA to get you to spend real money on the 20-sided dice. Because, that is the only way you can guarantee that you will receive the high payouts needed to achieve the gold and elixer goals.”
For me, I don’t want to wait until Wednesday to buy certain things to help build castles or whatever… And I really don’t want to build a cardboard castle anyway.
It would be different if this was a one or two week event. However, it is going to last for a LONG time. For an event to keep my interest for this long, it has to make some sense, and have some prizes out there that I want to work towards.
This seems to just be a money-grab by EA.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I kinda thought there would be a list of the awards you get at each gold level along with the calendar…?
The Prize list is coming. We were waiting for them to correct the info for the Elixr award so it was correct. Now they have it set right, we can finish it up.
Well, I have spent some time working this new “event” to get a feel for it. However. I can honestly say that this this “event”, (IMO of course) sucks.
Too many bugs. Not enough clarity on actions and what payouts are for attacking and defending (unlesss, of course, you zap a house or castle with a “cheaters 20” die, or you are lucky enough to have a nerd actually crush someone else’s castle/house,
I am bored out of my mind. My iPad crashes at least once every time I try to deploy my nerds, either in my friend’s town or in the random stranger’s town. One thing I have noticed that will make my iPad crash automatically is trying to go to another town to “attack” it, while leaving nerds uncollected over my own castles. Instant crash! So, if I am at or near the limit on nerds and want to deploy some first before claiming the new nerds floating above my castles, no can do. I have to claim the nerds first, and I lose everthing that is over the official nerd limit. This is a major drag, since I cannot pick up my iPad and play every hour to make sure I don’t lose any nerds. I have already lost a ton of them.
Like many of you, I still cannot defend my town with a die. Oh, the action seems to work fine, but I cannot clear out that task in my task list.
The “prizes” stink, and I am really not interested in grinding away to get them all. I also dislike the confusing way things are given out. You are told something is in your inventory, but it turns out it is locked until you reach a certain level. EA doesn’t explain this (or anything else, for that matter), and I have to spend time tracking down the answer, which is just wasted time.
I could go on, but just writing about this update is boring me. I don’t want castle parts in my town after the event is over, and I don’t have any interest in “Clash of Clans” or whatever this event is supposed to remind folks of.
I would like to make a suggestion to EA. Give your players an “opt out” button. So when they release a clunker like this, people can just not participate if they don’t want to. I don’t want to see any shields in my town, and I don’t want to clear them. I also don’t want to go to any other towns and look for castles and buildings, or anything else that this event requires.
Feh. This one is a stinkeroo.
I got marge ernt outfit but it’s locked and I can’t use her and she is free and any suggestion???
Marge opens at a certain point in the questline. Until then, she will wait in your inventory until she is needed in the game.
I was wondering is it better to go max to get the 1 hour timer or just one expecting to be stoped. How much exler do you get if your stopped and does it vary depending on the number of nerds used?
I personally think it is a waste of Nerds. I seem to get as good if not a better payout from just sending one to many vs a ton to one.
Psst…it looks like some of the links under “Details” are dead.
As we put up posts, more links will go live. Or are there some hyperlinks not working?
