These are just a few of the FAQ’s I’ve noticed come up a lot with TSTO, and some that are just fun facts to know.
How many characters have been introduced in TSTO to date?
As of Level 32/Krustyland Expansion there are 80 Characters that have been introduced to the game at some point, either as a limited time character or a permanent addition. These include characters that have no tasks and only walk around.
As of 3/14/19 there are 403 playable characters (not including skins) and 144 NPCs.
When I visit my friend’s town why are some of their characters dressed differently than mine?
From time to time EA will introduce a costume for a character, already in the game, that will open up a whole new quest line for that character. Sometimes these costumes come out with a big event (like Christmas and Halloween) and other times they’re introduced as part of a promotion for an upcoming episode of the Simpsons.
As of Level 32 there are 15 total costumes that have been introduced. Out of that 15 only 2 of them are permanent additions (McBain & Kamp Bart), and they both cost donuts to unlock.
What about Chief Wiggum? Doesn’t he have a costume? Sometimes I see him walking around my neighbors Springfield in a dress.
Chief Wiggum does not have a costume, however if you send him on his 24 hour task (Go on a Stakeout) he will walk around Springfield in a dress and blue wig.
How many buildings have been introduced in TSTO to date?
As of level 32 (not including Krustyland) there have been 98 buildings released, between permanent additions, limited-time, and premium.
Do all of the buildings earn money?
No. While almost all of the buildings earn money there are a handful of buildings that do not earn money but have other tasks. Cletus’s Farm does not earn money as the other buildings do instead it earns money through growing crops, Channel 6 earns money through news broadcasts and Open Air Stage earns money through characters performing. While Springfield Downs earns money through betting on the Dog Races.
Town Hall, Moe’s Tavern, Springfield Elementary & the Police Station do not earn money. However, your neighbors can vandalize those buildings with spray paint while visiting and you earn money from cleaning up the spray paint.
Finally, Springfield Retirement Castle is the one building that does not earn money, has no tasks to earn money, and cannot be vandalized. However, it’s a building you must purchase in order to get Grandpa Simpson.
How large can I expand my Springfield to?
Including the water and shoreline Springfield is 18×18.
Krustyland is a 10×10 square.
How much would it cost to purchase all the available land in Springfield?
To purchase all of the land in Springfield, 326 squares, it would cost $44,992,890 game dollars.
To purchase all of the land in Krustyland, 100 squares, it would cost 469,000 tickets.

Is the pirate ghost ship worth the 250 donuts? I only have around 300 donuts left, and can’t afford to buy any more for a while. I’m planning on using these remaining donuts to purchase really necessary items.
It has one task from Sea Captain that carries over. Outside that…it is an expensive sale. I got it cuz I love the ships and ghosts.
Thanks Bunny! I love those things too, but I just don’t think I can swing it. I suppose I’ll have to miss out on this one.
Any ideas/tips/thoughts for those of us who are freemium players? I don’t have a lot of extra money for donuts, but love playing the game. Not sure if this is the place for this or not, but thought I would try. Love the website and the game.

Just keep playing. Visit neighbors lots and max your FP so you can get those random free donuts from just tapping their towns. Get Jebediah if you dont have him already. (His info is in our Tips n Tricks section in the menu.) Keep Leveling up to get more free donuts.

Does the ghost pirate ship have a task or character interaction? I just bought it (250 donuts) but everyone’s on 24 hour tasks?

I can’t get the moon bounce task 2 to trigger. I have tried storing willie and the moon bounce and nothing. Anyone else having trouble?
Try contacting EA and let them know what’s going on…they may be able to reset the task for you
How to tell if your neighbor is cheating? I have a friend/neighbor who started playing 6 months after me and has premimum items that were never offered to me. Like Springfield Falls and Fruitbatman search light? Where are they getting these items?
Most likely they’re using a hacked or modded game.
Speaking of hacked games…
I’ve seen an alien throne and little thatch roof houses in my travels though other Springfields. Is this also from a hacked or modded game? Or, did I just miss something?

I was wondering, as we approach phase 3… is it a wise strategy to save up all our goodies (if we’ve already crafted everything we currently want) in anticipation for new “build a bear” items being added to the list in the third phase? Or, is there a chance all the trick counters (for pumpkins, candy corn, broken fences…) would be reset to zero…thus we’d be best off using every trick we’ve collected before the end of phase 2?

Everything you have should remain. The only thing that will change is the Ray Guns…they’ll disappear and in their placed will be the protein strings. Hope that helps! 🙂
Oh…you’d even recommend saving the bags themselves and not splitting them up once you have them?
If so…is it because you think something MIGHT happen to the goodies out of each bag (like they’d be gone like he Ray guns collected) or… saving either bags or goodies from inside should amount to the same thing?

Yes save them for the next phase (which I’ve just now started doing and i’m about 125 away from the Hover-Copter). And it’s because any Ray Guns that would be inside would be converted to Protein strings after Phase 3 hits. So if you want for phase 3 to open them you’ll get a good head start on Protein strings.
I deleted a building whilst a charactor was doing a task and now I have lost the charactor and I don’t think I can progress further without that charactor. I have re built the building when I first got the charactor but they still haven’t came back. Please help!!!!!!
You can’t delete buildings…you can sell them. Selling will give you a confirmation to sell them. However, I suspect you stored it. Check your inventory and see if it’s in there…which character was it?
Duplicate comment as it never posted mine when it took me away from the comment screen to log in. Anyways, I am level 45 and trying to get my rating to five stars. I have been cross checking your website with my buildings and noticed I do not have fleet-a-pita. I either missed the quest line or something else happened. Can I somehow get it to start. I am a non-premium player and therefore don’t have access to the premium buildings to up my rating. How does everyone get so many premium buildings so quickly? Does everyone really spend hundreds of bucks for donuts? Is there something I missed? It takes me several weeks to get just a few donuts let alone enough to buy all of the Halloween decorations etc up in one swoop. Thank you, any tips are appreciated.
They buy them 🙂 Personally I spend a couple hundred in my game a year..and that’s my personal game. Not the game I use to speed things up on the blog…you don’t want to know what those donut totals are. Also, players that have been playing forever may have more donuts because at various points during events they were given away.
Fleet-a-Pita is premium. Even though it costs cash…it won’t unlock unless you have Luann.
If you’re looking to max out your conform-o-meter and you’re not buying premium..the best way to do it is with multiple Gulp n Blows and Krusty Burgers (for Gluttony) and Kwik-E-Marts for Consumerism. While it stinks they’re the same buildings….they’ll all earn you the same 10 points towards their category that a premium building will.

Actually, for gluttony, I recommend the Khalav Kalashnikov stands…they’re relatively inexpensive and don’t take up much room. I have a bunch of them scattered throughout my town in little free spaces here and there.

I don’t use real money to play, so I must use my donuts very wisely (not that others don’t, but you know (hopefully) what I mean. .. I’m not trying to offend anyone lol) . .. so Im trying to make sure that what I’m spending my donuts on give me the biggest return… but i don’t understand something…what’s the difference between a character “earning 2.25% bonus money and XP to all jobs” and “this characters jobs earn 50% more money and xp”

Characters don’t earn the bonus to all $ and xp…only items/decorations do. Characters instead (premium only) earn 50% more on their own jobs. For example when you send a premium character on a 24hr task they earn $1,000…vs $600 for regular characters. 🙂
The bonus % is something decorations earn when they’re in your town. So something with a 2.25% bonus will add 2.25% to your overall bonus in town (when combined with your Conform-o-meter bonus)…and that’s a bonus that goes on top of EVERYONE’s jobs and all the buildings.

My game keeps having to download updates, at least everyday sometimes mulitple times a day. At over 400mb a time this is getting riduculous. Not a problem with my ipad just seems restricted to my iphone? Any ideas?
That is a new one. Sounds like something is going on with your device. I would try some basic troubleshooting and if that doesn’t work, Contact EA
i never got cool lisa .. i have all the friendship prizes .. when i look for her in the jnventory box .. her skin is not there .. what to do !
If you’re not seeing her Contact EA and let them know what’s going on. They should be able to add her to your game for you…
I’m pretty sure i collected all the pieces to Moe’s new outfit (the one with the codpiece). I have seen in my friends Springfield’s that Moe is wearing it. But i can’t figure out how to get my Moe to wear his. What happened.
Go to the Simpson house and tap on the attic. You’ll have to answer the question (Art) and that will unlock it 🙂

I was wondering which characters do not have task? I’m new to TSTO and trying to figure out who is worth spending donuts on. Thank you for your help.
If they are a Character, they have a task. If they are an NPC, the do not. That is a VERY long list for both. Is there someone in particular you wanted to know about before buying?
I was looking at getting either Moleman or Kearney to start with. I don’t want to spend donuts on characters that just walk around right now since I’m trying to build my Springfield up. I would rather have people that can do stuff.
Kinda random question, if I planted actual corn (90 day process) could it be sped up in just 4 hours with Witch Marge?
She runs the task for 4hours, then removes and additional 4 hours once you tap on her to complete it. So it would help to cut time off it, but it will go faster if you send her to do it over n over.

1: The nuclear option will store pretty much all you have minus unstorable items like trash/debri.
2: Tapped Out Episode? I can only assume they MAY be referring to the episode Homer was playing the game in. Outside that, I would need more details to pinpoint the exact episode.

WOOHOO! I got a Prize of 30 Donuts for shooting down the UFO in A friends Sprinfield!! I was Elated! I only had 4 kids Tirck or Treating! now I have 5 as Ibought the Squeaky Voiced Teen. Even though he only gets a bag every 16 hours as opposed to the others 8 I am still stoked to have him! I also want to take a secoind to thank everyone here who has been so helpful and friendly. It’s refreshing to find such a great community of gamers who aren’t critical or mean to “Noobs” Thank you all! IDK if this is okay to do but *****

How do UFO’s get blownup while in your home Springfield if you do not have a ray gun? They seem to randomly blow up.
The UFO in YOUR Springfield is Kodos. Only the Ray Gun will bring her down.
The Rigellian UFOs in your NEIGHBORS towns can only be shot down if you have collected ammo.
I have gone on the page with the 3 sets of Icons…Homer on top square, houses in 2nd square and dec on 3rd square!! I have checked those out, but no King Homer Tower, grocery Store and other buildings supposedly “for Sale”!! Why do I not see these?? Another Glitch??
Do NOT go into those menus. From your game, Tap on the Hammer and Saw on the icon in the lower right corner…. the MAIN pop up will show in the middle of the screen… a Halloween image will be the LARGEST thing you see…. Homer being chased and attacked by Aliens. Tap on THAT Halloween image. It will take you there.
If you end up lost in the smaller icons again, tapp on the one that looks like a UFO on a pillow. It is the top row all the way to the right. Same row as the characters.
For some strange reason since the last update I can’t expand horizontally however I haven’t used the standard 16×14 squares which is given. It’s really frustrating. Any advice?
Leave it. It is intentionally stuck at a lower screen to help combat constant crashing due to a ton of lil things running round your game right now.
Hello…I only received 81 probes this morning, I tapped on Bob 3 times as he showed up. Would this be why I was given only 81? And, I didn’t tap UFO’s but since I’m tapped out on friends today I can’t seem to find one now. I’ve checked back periodically today and nothing. So, I’m sitting with ammo that I can’t use until tomorrow and then once again it’ll go against my probes. Doesn’t seem right….

Im having bad problems with Origin. I really need help. I started playing anonymous. Later I created an account but I could not connect to the server and was stuck in the Bart screen with no log out option. I had no access to the game and contacted EA and they said to update software, powercycle etc. I did everything, nothing worked. They told me to uninstall and reinstall, I did, it didnt work and once again I was stuck in the Bart screen. I stopped trying, took me forever to reinstall againn and EA never threw me even one donut for all my trouble. The last thing they suggested was for me to try logging in one a different device. I convinced my bf to download the game and create anaccount. His log in works fine. I tried logging in to friend him, Im stuck in the Bart screen. I tried logging in using his device , now he cant log out either and hes stuck in the Bart screen and has to reinstall etc. PLEASE HELP! Does this ever end?
That is very odd. All we can offer here is basic troubleshooting, something more deeply rooted like that higher level tech at EA needs to look into. I would take an option to have them call you and see if they can look into it further.
What is the timer for the raygun, 6 or 8 hours before i can collect the ammo? If i click on it to check it just shoots.

Hi, im a daily player Level 46
Since a couple of days my Simpsons doest want to work.
Everytime I open it, it starts and close again and gives me an error. After a few times it opens.. It takes a while to load. Then the game starts and after a few seconds the no connection screen with Bart pops up.
What to do!? I want to play the halloween edition! Im missing a lot of things now!!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling TSTO. That should help to clear the error
