Where Did THAT Come From: Fort Sensible

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

Fort Sensible

This post I will be going over the Origin of the Fort Sensible. Where did it appear in the TV Series? Why is it not really used? What is so cool about it? Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.

Season 4, Episode 20: Whacking Day
Skinnner announces the “winners” of Mountain Bikes. Bart, Nelson, Jimbo, Kearney, and Dolph. They are being set up to be locked in the basement out of sight of Chalmers. Bart escapes through a vent and uses Willy’s new tractor to go on a rampage. He rams the tractor into Chalmers and ends up getting expelled.

Marge tries to find another school for him, but no luck. So Marge decides SHE will teach him. (Meanwhile, Whacking Day is coming to Springfield and Lisa is not happy.) She seems to Bart’s attention with a book about Johnny Tremain. He is really interested in the book and doesn’t put it down. Not even for an Itchy & Scratchy episode. Marge decides they should take a trip to Olde Springfield Towne so he can learn more about Colonial Times.

The next day Marge and Bart are at Olde Springfield Towne exploring. While asking the Tour Guide questions…

Tour Guide: The enemy surrounded the fort, and said that if the captain was sent out, the rest would be spared.
Bart: What did they do?
Tour Guide: They sent him out!
Bart: Was he killed?
Tour Guide: And how! That’s why they call it ‘Fort Sensible’.

Fort Sensible

And he points to the sign above him. “Fort Sensible.” That was it. A lil tiny flash of the Fort. About as exciting as the activity at the Fort in our game. Lol.

A building originally brought into our games as the first Personal Prize of 150 Snakes for Whacking Day ***shudders*** 2013 has now made its way back during the Clash of Clones Event. What do YOU think of Fort Sensible? Did you buy it? Are you glad it returned? Did you catch this episode? Wish there were more tasks linked to it? Let us know your thoughts below.

  1. I bought it. I just like how it looks, even it’s not a sensible choice. 🙂

  2. Fort Springfield was also featured in “The PTA Disbands”, having been renamed “Diz-Nee Historical Park”.
