Springfield in Hollywood NEWS!!!!

Hey hey hey friends!

So for almost a year, I have been bugging y’all with news about the arrival of our favorite cartoon hometown at Universal Studios Hollywood.  Since then, I’ve tried to keep y’all abreast of all the developments.  While it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since I saw the first image of this amazingness, it has and boy oh boy do I have news for you.

This news comes to us from my beautiful mother some of you may know as Wookieemama.  Here’s what she posted on our Meet & Greet Reminder:

“I know you are going to have a great time. Next time do we get a West Coast meet & greet? According to my unofficial source at Universal Hollywood, Springfield is going to officially open this Saturday March 28th. Although there is nothing on their website about it. Maybe I should go investigate while the Wookiee is with all of you.”

You read that right, according to a reliable source, this Saturday, the walls will be gone and Springfield will officially open to guests.  While I’ve found no mention online, apparently me mudder has the hookup over at USH and scooped me on the details.  Of course, Alissa, Bunny and I will be on the East Coast visiting with some of you so what’s a So Cal resident to do?  Easy my friends… go right when I get off the plane on Tuesday lol.

Why I found out hours after my Mom’s posting is a whole different story lol.  Not a big deal though because I love my giver of life and can share the info with all of you.  Hopefully a few Addicts might be able to be there for the opening. (Rumor has it a soft opening might occur on Friday too.)  As an added bonus, I’ve heard in the casa that the Wookieemama might actually be taking some pictures for all of you and writing a special From the Mouths of Addicts also.  Barring that, I’ll have info and pics by Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Curious about what all will be there… check out this post with some of the buildings shown.  I hope y’all find this as exciting as me.  I truly love when amazing things happen in reality.  Speaking of… don’t forget about the Meet & Greet.  Our bags are packed (well… Bunny & I… Alissa’s probably cleaning up in prep for the mess we’ll make) and we’re ready to go.  I’ll be leaving on a jet plane this Friday lamenting not being in Hollywood for the opening but celebrating spending some time with all of you who can make the event in Joisey.

Springfield… Springfield… it’s a hell of a town!  Much love, Homer hugs and all that goodness and keep on tapping in the free world.  TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Being a resident of Orlando, I have an annual pass to Universal/Islands of Adventure and I gotta say, you won’t be disappointed in the West Coast Springfield. It really is the most magical place on Earth (aside from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter). Forget that Disney nonsense. The $8 dollar price tag on those Duff beers, though…

  2. Springfield at Universal in Orlando is by far my favorite place in the world. I have spent so much time just drinking Duff at Moe’s and Duff Gardens it is not even funny.

  3. i have a quick 45 minute drive to finally experience my Springfield… HOOOORRRRAAAAYYYYY for Hollywood
    I LOVE MY SIMPSONS!!!!!

  4. I hate that I didn’t have the time to take the trip to the Kwik-E-Mart in Henderson when it was here. I guess a quick drive to LA is in the cards for me.

  5. Definitely gonna have to drive from the NorCal bay area to SoCal and its wonderful set of theme parks this summer. I’ve always been jealous of Florida and their Springfield…. Now that I know its existence is imminent in California, I know we’re going to do it at least a dozen times better than the old Springfield. Sorry, east coast. It’s not your fault you don’t rhyme with “best” coast. 😉 I won’t bother stating the words that rhyme with “east” coast…. (This is all meant in jest.) You’re alright, east coast, you’re alright.

    • Lol
West coast rules! East coast drools!
(Also meant in jest; my brother lives in NYC after all. But SoCal oh SoCal you are so beautiful)
Thanks for the info addicts 🙂 I’m down the LA block from universal so I’ll take a look soon.

  6. I can’t wait to go to see the Hollywood version of Springfeld. When I went down to SoCal to ride the new Simpsons Ride. I rode it 21 times in row. And rode it again another 13 times on that very same day!

  7. ugh….

  8. I am really excited to see Universal Studios Hollywood grow & change for the better; because it needs to in order to compete with Disneyland / DCA, Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain (all of the major Southern California theme parks have renovated, as well as improved their property with new rides and new experiences).

U.S.H. definitely needs new parking / more parking, an expansion of the Downtown District, improved Freeway access and a new Concert venue (since Universal Amphitheater is closed). As much as I love Springfield being a part of U.S.H., I am looking forward to Harry Potter World (Hogworts).

Yes there will always be old rides and attractions that I will miss such as Back to the Future, Terminator 2 3-D, Castle Dracula Beetlejuice live show, Conan the Barbarian live show, The Munsters House (Tram Back Lot), Battlestar Galactica Cylon attack (Tram Back Lot). U.S.H. needs to usher in a new era and Springfield is the right touch. 🙂

  9. I want to go to Universal Studios and will be getting a seasonal pass for myself soon, when I get some more money. I cannot WAIT to see The Simpsons at Universal Studios!!!
