A week ago today the Addicts gathered on the West Coast to take on Hollywood!
Universal Studios Hollywood that is.
I really hated turning that new Michael Bay movie down, but Crunchy Cranky told me it was a bad deal. Then Wook touched him with “not his wish hand”..and things got awkward. So, while no major movie contracts were signed (although we did make our own independent films…via Facebook Live), we still had a blast walking through the streets of Springfield in Hollywood. And hey, Patric did have a celebrity moment!
It was awesome to see sights from our own pocket-sized Springfields in real life, although I’m not sure I 100% agreed with their design choices. I mean they had Krustyland front and center…and we all know how everyone feels about Krustyland!
So the real reason we were in Springfield, there is a point to this post after all, was to meet up with YOU! It gave us an awesome opportunity to meet up with fellow Addicts at Moe’s Tavern. We were able to share a few laughs, a few stories and lots of hugs all over Flaming Moe’s and Duff!
Of course I write that and my brain is instantly singing “you say goodbye and I say hello… hello hello”… but anyhoo… HI FRIENDS!!!
So the Wild West has gone on to history where some feel it belongs (present company excluded) and now we all wait for the next big thing. This isn’t the post where I blab about what I think is next because frankly, I think it was said in a not so subtle hint, and honestly I don’t care what they do. New stuff to me is good stuff and I love this game even when they swing and miss (thinking of Whacking Day shenanigans). I may be a bit bitter about all the rocks leaving the crafting menu before I thought they would and missing out on more stuff to build a desert or emulate some of your designs but I’ll get over it. Today’s diary is just me sharing some pics of new stuff I saw in Springfield from a recent trip (26 May 16) I made to Universal Studios in Hollywood. If that sounds good to you… let’s go!
So way back about a month ago, I shared with all of you info about the opening of Springfield at Universal Studios Hollywood. My beautiful mother and sister took some photos as I was otherwise engaged in the East Coast but as promised, I literally got off the plane in LAX and went straight to USH to see the amazingness for myself. Of course, since then, real life, work and TSTO events got in the way of sharing what i saw with y’all, but in another case of better late than never, I’m finally writing about it. Without further ado, here’s a bunch of pictures with some thoughts from me. Continue reading →
Welcome to another edition of From the Mouths of Addicts, where YOU get to sound off on anything and everything in the world of Tapped Out! Last week, I let y’all know about the opening of Springfield at Universal Studios Hollywood. Of course, the Addicts team was all united on the East Coast but one addict made sure we were repped at Universal. Special thanks to my beautiful Mom and Sister for going to the opening and taking lots of pics just for the site. Without further ado, click more if you’d like to see all the goodness and a quick blurb from Wookieemama.
So for almost a year, I have been bugging y’all with news about the arrival of our favorite cartoon hometown at Universal Studios Hollywood. Since then, I’ve tried to keep y’all abreast of all the developments. While it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since I saw the first image of this amazingness, it has and boy oh boy do I have news for you.
So a little while ago (January) I shared an article with y’all about the construction of Springfield at Universal Studios Hollywood. I also promised I’d be going in February to take pics and let you know how everything was going. Well, move over Superheroes, it’s time for this fuzzball to fulfill his promise. One things for certain… I am SUPER excited by all this.
Springfield, Springfield, Hollywood, Hollywood… hey Wookiee, Hollywood’s that way… it’s a hell of a town!
Sorry folks, chuckling to myself but I promise I have a point. For anyone who hasn’t seen my previous posts about Universal Studios Hollywood opening up their own version of Springfield this Spring, they are. New pics have become available for it too.
What do you call Chewbacca when he has chocolate stuck in his hair?
A Chocolate Chip Wookiee.
Sorry, had to share but does that make me a cheesey poof Wookiee? Consider that as the world turns lol. Anywho… I realized it had been a while since I did one of these WAWW posts and figured I’d use some of my extra photos from my latest sojourn to Krustyland in Hollywood to bring out some ideas.
Admittedly, it has been a little bit since I reported on anything about Krustyland in Hollywood and for that I apologize. Here at Addicts, I’m sort of the resident them park guy since I have a pass to Universal Studios Hollywood. Being super stoked about the press release of Springfield coming to my home state in Spring 2015 (check out this post), I find myself eager to check out the progress. Well, I went back in April and I’m here to share what I saw. Apologies for the delay in getting this to you but I’m blaming Easter.
Well hello there Addicts and welcome to another Wookiee report on The Krustiest Place on Earth!
So, some of you know that I am blessed to live near one of the real Krustylands in Southern California. Just for fun, I even wrote a little about Krustyland in Hollywood. The other Krustyland is in Florida and part of an entire Springfield recreation. Thanks to dumb luck, I actually visited there last year and wrote about it just for you.
That’s all neither here nor there but with the appearance of Krustyland in one of the latest Simpsons episodes (S25:E14, “Winter of His Content”) and Bunny’s Springfield Show-Off Post, I’m not only excited about designing my Krustyland but salivating over new things we could get in the future.
