Hey hey friends! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
Wowza… expansions, events, levels… EA has us all busy tapa-tapa-tapping away. Of course, with new levels comes new stuff to wonder just where the items come from. For this edition, we’ll take a look at one of the freemium buildings from Level 57… the Overpass Diner. But what does another food establishment have to do with the Best. Show. Ever.? When and where did it appear? Let’s turn off the information highway and find out.
“My Mother the Carjacker” (S15:E2)
Marge makes the Oops Patrol by pointing out a mistake in the Springfield Shopper and is enjoying her moment in the sun. Homer can’t handle her having a funny t-shirt and tries to find his own funny headlines. Unfortunately Branford Man Missing isn’t as funny as Mayor Unveils Erection to Cheering Crowd. The good news is by studying newspapers, he finds a secret message from his mommy. She knew Homer “liked oversized food and short, punchy articles.”
Good news is the newspaper WAS actually talking to him and it wasn’t his brain going crazy like Marge said. Bart and Homer find Mona at an overpass. Mona explains everything to them at the Overpass Diner.
And that’s it… the origin for the freemium building that strangely came with Old Jewish Man. He was in the jury during Mona’s trial later so I guess that’s a connection.
I wish this building came with Mona aka Anita Bonghit but I am super happy to see OJM. What did you think of it? Happy to see it in Level 57? Did you know the origin? Sound off in the comments and keep on tapa-tapa-tapping in the free world.

The Overpass Diner isn’t a huge Building (which is nice), all we need is more Characters to use said Diner besides our new Character (OJM is lol worthy but Tappers need Mona aka Anita Bonghit, too) 😉
I would have liked Mona Simpson, too. I wonder if they won’t add her because her character is dead? I know Maude is, too, but it’s her ghost, so it’s not the same thing. (Although, technically, Fat Tony is dead and was replaced by Fit Tony/Fat Fit Tony…)
Frank Grimes is dead. So is Shary Bobbins. Richard Nixon. Dr. Monroe.
It would be very easy to come up with a storyline about how she faked her death to escape from the law.
Those are excellent points! I’d forgotten that those characters (except Grimes) were dead in the show. Now EA needs to give us Mona! 🙂
The man with the mustache sitting next to the Old Jewish Man, I’ve seen him a number of times. I can’t seem to place him, is he an exPower plant employee, janitor, librarian? Or does he have multi-jobs and that’s why I can figure it out??
That mustache guy (not to be confused with Raphael of course) I first thought was the Tapp Ball Orange Fan, but after looking at the Fan a number of times realized it couldn’t be.
It’s not uncommon for me to ask these (somewhat) rhetorical questions. And I find they linger in moderation a little longer than usual. Presuming Alissa is waiting for Wookie or Bunny to respond but sometimes the other readers have the answers too.
I’m in no rush and honestly not expecting a response at all. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice getting one but (honestly again) modereration pending always makes me nervious/anxious.

Well one of your guesses is right. He’s an ex-power plant employee… Jack Marley to be precise. He pops up frequently in the show as a background character but I’ll always remember him form “Marge Gets a Job” (S4:E7) when Burns forces him to retire.
“Please don’t make me retire. My job is the only thing that keeps me alive. I never married and my dog is dead. . . . I’m not finished!”

I think I’d rather see Charlie (plant worker) before this Jack Marley fella but it’s always good to have names with face.
So I did a search and Jack Marley Also was a janitor, So two of my guesses were Right 😛 I’m not sure why I pictured him as a librarian. The other quote mentioned from him was Moping up a ship and telling Homer “I think your off the hook” from being court-marshaled.

I don’t know what’s going on with my game, I’m level 58 and when a I want to play it brings me to start (build Simpsons house) I’m crying :'( HELP pls!
Hard close and restart your game. See if that helps. If it doesn’t uninstall and reinstall TSTO. Make sure you’re logged into your account. Once of those methods should work, if it doesn’t contact EA. Your game isn’t lost…happens occasionally.

It’s not that it takes him long to write them (or find the stuff), it’s that we don’t get a chance to post them right away. WDTCFs are low priority to post when new content hits the game. So we’ve had so much new content hit our game the last few weeks that we’ve got a ton of WDTCF posts (and others) sitting in drafts because there’s other more pressing content to push. (Like yesterday for example we had not 1 but 2 updates hit the game that took priority over everything else). I’ve got 7 WDTCFs sitting in drafts right now for everything from Level 57 to Springfield Heights to Homer’s Ballet. Just loads of stuff hitting the game all at once prevents posts like that from getting pushed right away.
Ya know, it’s not very often that I post, I’m ashamed to say I’m mostly just a long time lurker, but I had to post after reading this comment, because I really had to pick my jaw up off the floor. I read these articles and the comments every day, and EVERY single day someone makes some type of comment like this… I don’t know if it’s just an age thing, maybe they’re really young… I hate to think people are just that ignorant. Don’t people realize how much work goes in to running this site?! These three put SO much time and energy into running this site, how dare you make a comment because you didn’t receive information on something 5 seconds after it hit our games. I know sometimes we read things and take them out of context, and sometimes people are just trying to help, but please, read your comments before you post them! These three have lives outside of this game and website! School, work and a freakin pregnancy for God’s sake… and this is STILL the best run site with regards to this game! So please, take it easy on them! Sit tight and relax… give these three a little credit… when have you ever NOT gotten information?! Ok, end rant. The three of you DO NOT get enough recognition here! I know there are a lot of people that do very much appreciate the work you do, but this is an extremely thankless job, and I don’t think you hear it enough! That being said, THANK YOU, Bunny, Alissa and Wookie, for ALL the hard work, dedication, and money you put into this game and site, making game play that much easier and better for all of us! You have touched a lot of lives, and you truly are VERY MUCH appreciated!

Agree with everything you just said, although got me wondering, which one is freakin pregnant? Last I heard Alissa is regular pregnant (although rumor has it, her little one might have superpowers once born, time will tell)
