It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Simpsons is off again for one more week tonight. Did you catch the last episode 12? Also, as mentioned eight weeks ago, season 35 is finally under way in the UK. Did you catch the start of season 35 if you live in the UK?
The new event just ended last week. How did you progress with the event? What do you think we get next?

Idk if it was very limited in time but due to an internet outage, I didn’t finish the update until Friday. I saw the notice that the 2 squishable clowns would be available in the store, but I didn’t see them anywhere. Not that I care much but still…
Store items were removed when the timer ran out, even though you could complete the quest(s) you were on when it ended. Same with any prize item that had a Buy More, but you can’t buy more if you unlock the item after the event ended.
If it makes you feel any better, I bought them but then ended up having to store them because they were screwing up sending my three animal characters on flights at the airport. I’d send those three animal characters on flights, but then, the next time, I could only send one clown, even though I had three tickets available. So, I was wasting two tickets every other flight.
I’m currently trying to maximize IGC, so I can manufacturer gold tiles. This has me doing stuff I haven’t done in years, like sending Homer hunting for turtles via the chili pot and stuff!
Will there be a show-off for the event we just had?
Yes
I love TSTO and have been playing since almost the beginning but what drives me crazy is the frequent and random requirement to log in, give your birth date and get a code on your cell phone. Why? I play a couple of other games on line and NEVER had to do this. Once you’re logged on on these games. you’re logged on.
I have several in my household that play and the code thing is extremely annoying. We have passwords for accounts, the code shouldn’t be necessary. I’ve complained several times about it and nothing comes of it.
The codes are to keep your games safe and the hackers out.
Passwords can be guessed, shared or otherwise cracked.

I think this is just how “they”, “get you”. It’s like when you go shopping and see something on sale..yet it “mysteriously” scans at the regular price. Oh “it hasn’t been entered into the system “…no …this is how “they get you”…at least….that’s “what I heard”.
Your comment makes no sense…who’s getting whom how?
As a side note, I actually like when a sale item rings up at regular price because, in my state of Massachusetts, when that happens, you get the item for free! 🙂
I’ve played the other games forever. Never got hacked. And if I ever do, what are they going to do, blow up my town?
Remember a few years back, what got known as the Rollback Glitch ??

Codes are here to stay
“The rollback glitch” was a glitch, not a hack. The constant screens to log in when I’m already logged in is worse than a glitch. I’m growing tired of it, and I’m sure I’m not alone. I have played Candy Crush, Words with Friends and Seekers Notes for years— some for more than a decade. I’ve never had to re-log in, and never had a problem.
So you don’t understand how that damage was done ??
The codes are still here to stay.
Nothing will change that.
The Rollback Glitch happened years before all this. And it was an internal glitch, not a hack. It had nothing to do with this issue.
So one day a specific version of the app saves the progress of your game to the server and the next time you play it gets the saved data and everything is as it should be.
Then the exact same app saves what you did and when it gets the data back the game data has been destroyed.
There had been no update or patch and restoring old data that wasn’t damaged by performing a timely Rollback meant your game could be fixed and continue to work without issue.
It didn’t need an Uninstall to fix faulty game files, and doing that didn’t help.
Only restoring to old, un-damaged data helped
It was a Glitch in name only, and the cause …

The codes are still here to stay, BTW, and I’m making no further response on those if anyone out there still just does not get it
I don’t mind the relog in.. for me isn’t only every couple or so months apart. Mind you when I go into play the daily challenge at 2 am MDT.. and have to log in.. it’s a bit of a inconvenience but still not a real issue in my eyes.
I play a couple of card games that are on microsoft and about every couple of months I get logged out and have to log in again
