I’ve seen a few reports the in-app purchases aren’t working.
I left a message for EA late last night and was hoping for a reply when they were back in the office, but at the time of posting I haven’t heard anything.

EA has really dropped the ball on getting help on the game. i’ve been going around in a loop for 1/2 hour just trying to submit a ticket.
And they say get help from your tapped out acct – when you click get help in the game, it just opens a blank screen.
Also on ea page it says there’s a chat option – nope.
Can you get view the promo via bluestacks?
Found a work around for the missing character problem on kindle devices. If you have any access to an android device with the google play store, tablet or phone, download TSTO and the missing character and donut event are visible and can be added to your game. Since EA stores the game on its servers when you sign-in on your kindle device the purchase is there and playable with no problems. I quess the same would work on apple.
Yup.
Anything iOS or Android if you can beg or borrow use of it, or if you’ve got something old tucked away that’ll load the game long enough to make the buy.
There’s also a really complicated way to get Google Play on a Kindle where you can grab the installer pack from a reputable source and install it yourself if you know what you’re doing.
I’d still suggest calling the Amazon US helpline and trying to get them to fix it.
It works on UK Kindles. I have one for my 3rd town.
