It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Simpsons is off for the summer. Did you catch the last episode 18 season finale reminder? What did you think of the season finale? Did you ever have a pet organ? Also, as mentioned 20 weeks ago, season 35 is finally under way in the UK. Did you catch the start of season 35 if you live in the UK?
The current major event, The Summer of our Discontent, just got underway this week. Did you catch Graham’s rundown? How are you progressing so far in the mini event?

I tried putting vehicles on paved roads, but they show up in red — “no go”. However, I have visited at least two other friend’s Springfield and I see they have miscellaneous vehicles placed about the town! Am I missing some trick or something?
FYI: My level is max’ed at 939 and I have plenty of land space, so I do not understand others running out of room. I admit that I do NOT buy everything up for sale in the various for sale places. I have items in my inventory that are not allowed to be sold (for example monorail pieces) and such. I sure wish I could at least delete or destroy them (useless I am missing that action/trick to-do thing). I have friends at 939 and they have bare land. I guess it’s a matter of what one likes and multi-tudes of such.
By the way, yes, I would still like more land to help me differentiate my Springfield better. I would like more water area as well… I do not see anyone asking for that. lol
1: There’s a trick to that …
Place items on grass, but be careful to be sure they’re where you want ’em. If you need to move later you’ll need to start again.
Take a large item from your Inventory and line it up on top. You won’t be able to place it but no problem, just hit that X to send it back to storage.
Place the Ground Tiles under your items, works with Road, River, any of those.
NOTE – you can’t just move something big already in your town, has to be a stored item to work.
2: I need a mahoosive cleanup or more new land for my 2nd town, struggling for space. The prizes so far are crammed onto 2 land-tiles worth of space and I expect to need double that for what’s coming.
3: There are some calls for more Ocean out there, but that’ll only happen if they expand the Land too if I’m not mistaken.
I understand EA want players to spend in game cash. Why not give those of us who want to increase their character count or land the opportunity to buy what we need with in game cash. As a long term player I would certainly be buying character space!!
Did you mean those Springfield $$s you earn in the game, or did you mean real-world money ?
You can usually get characters for donuts when they’re back in store or from the Yearbook.
You can use those Springfield $$s to buy things just for XP to earn those donuts in-game without needing real-world money – why EA introduced the MTX items as super-premium in-app buys
I meant real-world money 💵. The system is already there for purchasing sprinkles, let’s open it up to purchasing land and increasing our characters and decoration limits. 💰
I get where you’re coming from, but think the practicalities of adding a whole load of in-app buys to the Store would be a mahoosive nightmare.
I’ll happily support a call for more land and an increase to the item limits, but free for all, not just players who could / would pay, and I’ll also repeat the call to make the GGR accessible to all players permanently, even if that does end up as an MTX item – hope not, but I could see that as an option if it was sensibly priced.
Graham what has been your favorite event of all time
I’m kinda easily pleased, but if I really had to choose it’d probably either be Superheroes 2 with the battles or the Casino event with the mini-games

Yea..yea.. Me again. Graham..or whomever…what is the rationale behind not providing more land by EA? I have no familiarity with the workings of game design nor coding..or anything even remotely involved with these processes. Is it a lot of work? I just don’t get it entirely. Can anyone provide a “Adding Land to TSTO for DUMMIES” explanation that might help me understand why they can’t just add land. Or why they just wouldn’t add it as a for cash purchase, like 5 land tokens/squares for .99 or 1.99 or any other price? I’d love to hear thoughts on this. Same can be asked about increasing item limits….
I say this lovingly…believe it or not, but there’s gotta be some nerd that can throw down some knowledge on me about this..and by all means…take pleasure in dumbing it down for me….
I don’t know how many Tappers are out there but I’m guessing any increase in land or item limits requires a lot of server space and this old mobile game is not EA’s cash cow, so why dedicate the resources? Paying per tile might be worth it to them, but if it were I would think they’d have done it already.
EA does tend to throw in more bonus items during their big THOH and Christmas events, so maybe through the holidays. I think the only time Golden Goose Realty has come back was around Black Friday so stay tuned.
It would be fantastic if EA could increase the maximum number of buildings and decorations the game can handle. It’s such a shame that items need to be stored to allow me to play the next event.
I agree! I’ve been playing since a few months after the beginning and have to store almost everything I win. Speaking of winning.. what becomes of the land tile that is won in this event if you have used up all your space???
Its not a land tile, it’s a ground tile

OK I’m confused. What does it do and how do you use it? Where would I find it in my inventory?
Tap those crossed arrows for Design Mode and it’s in the left-hand menu like the River etc.

Thank you! I found it and your explanation was great. Unfortunately I have literally no land left, so no place to use it. I’ve been playing since nearly the beginning and have to store everything new. I haven’t had the land to put in a road, dirt, water or now sand in ages. Hopefully EA will give us some new land soon. Once again, I appreciate your help.
Do you know the item limit number? I’m just curious. Graham? I’ve been playing a long..long time and never hit the item limit. Is it separated into a certain number buildings?..a certain number of tress?…a certain number of fences/walls…or is there a set limit of total items? Do characters count towards that “item” limit? And what about the tiles? Do land, sand, river, boardwalk, road..etc..tiles count towards this limit? I ask because I have no idea. All I want is more land to be available. But if there truly is a real item limit..what is that number? I have OCD and would love to start counting….gotta have something to do while I wait ….
Some I know and some guesses / thoughts on the item count from stuff I think I remember reading …
Limit is 16,000 items currently, not increased in a while.
Road tiles don’t count usually, but put ’em on River and each bridge edge you see does
Some items count as more than 1
Items in the Ocean count as 2 or more
Think most of the other Ground Tiles don’t count, but Boardwalk and the SH Pier do and probably the Ice tiles and Gold Road which show in your inventory and count how many you’ve got
Think Characters don’t count
You will see a warning when you’re 3,000 items off the limit and further warnings every 150 items after that.
( this damned keyboard, can’t wait for the replacement to get here … takes an age to type anything and fix it so it’s readable !! )
The mini event was average, but the new major event is amazing! I’m so happy there’s so much more content than usually this time around. I also got the sprinkles bundle and it gives you more money and xp than a regular character would give in a day, so I’m happy. I also got the desert park ranger.
Well, the Sprinkles promo is about to be over and couldn’t enjoy it because EA didn’t fix the issue for Kindle players, I hope the Fourth of July event we will get to get it… Hopefully we will get to buy it from the store from the yearbook mystery box or the shattered dreams box…
