At last, the post on those Chameleons.
If you read the Dialog Recap you’ll have seen that once the Outro tasks are completed it cleans up the tappable Chameleons and unlocks the set of 3 in store for you.
These are NPCs, meaning they do not have a task list when you tap on them, they can’t be sent on jobs with the Unemployment Office and will not show up in the Census at the Town Hall.
They are in a couple of groups though, so you may be able to use them on some group-send jobs.
They can also Get Judged if you have the Springfield Pet Fair Stage from the Dog Days event and if you have the Airport from the Around the World event they can be sent on flights.

You can use those jobs lists to check you have ’em, and if you send ’em on one of those tasks you’ll know where they are for a little while at least.
There is no questline for these, not even a Tap-it task.
They have their own animations, that are not the same as the tappables you’ve been hunting, and a sound clip each that I’ll cover next.

In the “Summer of Our Discontent” collection, there is a dog as the third character in the collection. I don’t have it, and I don’t remember it as part of the story line. Was it a store purchase or something else that I missed? Thanks!

I read somewhere that the chameleons have jobs at the Moon Bounce. If someone has the Moon Bounce and chameleons, can you confirm if this is true?

They (or at very least one of them) can take flights at the airport, which is messing up my flights for the octoparrot, unicorn, and cayote(?). I’m kinda regretting buying the chameleons because of that and may end up putting them in storage (if I can find them all!).
Maybe send one on that task, or to the Pet Fair Stage, and store it when you collect ( and know where it is ) ??

I finished all the tasks a few days ago and purchased the chameleons, but still have the catchable ones roaming my Springfield. Not unhappy though, as I quite like them and catching them if I am near them! Remind me a bit of the hundreds of multiplied bunnies I used to have years ago in my Springfield before they got ‘nerfed’ – was sad to see them all go!
