The issue for US players on Kindles is that Amazon US are wrongly blocking in-app purchases for bonus characters and other special items.
That’s a problem Amazon US caused and that Amazon US need to fix, so go complain to them.
The new land is there for everyone, you just need to know where and how to look.
You also need to remember if you’re still buying land that you will only see the next adjacent tiles to ones you own, so if you’re nowhere near the edge of the old map you won’t see the new bits until you get those.
