It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE
17 February 2012 – 24 January 2025
My hubby and I started playing TSTO the first day it came out, and while he quit playing a decade ago (his town is 6×8 land tiles 😆) I still have him as a neighbour.
With a 114 days remaining (I needed a couple of days to come to grips) I have begun my CELEBRATION OF LIFE for all things TSTO.
The first year of playing was confusing and I seldom completed events until I came across TSTO Addicts consisting of my all time FAV Alissa (no….not kissing your butt 😂), Bunny and the Wookster. As time went on…..Grumpy old man returned, my neighborino Safi pitched in 110% and Graham-S chose to contribute instead of just commenting. Of course there were guest contributors too. ALL of you made a HUGE difference in how I played the game. I am 100% positive that you are the reason I’m still tapping away to this day.
While I haven’t spent much time on visiting my neighbours (shout out to hondoriley23 for still visiting me to this day) I do wonder what happened to Ebron62, MAB_The_Great (miss your comments the most), 1DaPIMP and Tapebelt to name a few.
TSTO has had a wonderful run. It gave us lots to do, frustrated us to no end and at the same time made us laugh out loud.
I have enjoyed playing this game on an almost daily basis and hate to see it go, and I will miss this awesome community I got to be part of. I will continue visiting TSTO Addicts until Alissa chooses to flush the site down the toilet. In the meantime, I shall continue to celebrate all things TSTO.

Using a Screen Recorder for these kinds of things seems like a great idea for those who can, and uploading ’em for those who can’t is good too – for those dark days to come.

I don’t think i started playing at the very beginning, but it was early (in the first year?). Anyway something’s always bothered me… how many playable characters are really out there? I took a year break a few years ago so I always knew there was a hole in my collection, but now that we’re nearing the end the numbers aren’t adding up in my head and I need to put that to rest.
In EA’s goodbye note they mentioned 831 characters. I have 661 characters that can be used in the Job Manager…and add one for God (he’s always parting the skies), so 662.
Going through the Character Collections corner of our mini world I see that I’m missing 71 characters from the defined collections, so that would make it 733 playable characters.
So where are the other 98? Are they counting the non playable guys (Funzos, Dancing Reindeer and the like)???
The only brigh tspot in this whole end is looking forward to finally getting (all?) those characters…but how many are coming???

Ok, now it’s confession time…. I’ve been playing for 11 years, the first 5 or six only on my Kindle. Amazon sold “tokens” in the app store that allowed you to buy donuts for less than actual cash. I might save a buck or two when I made a donut purchase. Nothing crazy. Anyway, after one particular purchase of donuts, every time I logged on, I’d receive 100 donuts. This went on through an event, and like, 3 months after that. After acquiring around 25k donuts, I started feeling bad and reinstalled the game. I never felt too bad though, because I still spent actual cash on the event special characters, so they got at least 60 bucks a year from me. I’m down to about 7k donuts now but nothing to spend them on.
Anyway, off to fill in some bare spots in my town for my final screen grab. Until we meet again!
Do we know yet if cash items like Shelbyville will be available? So sad to see the game leaving.
Not looked fully at what’s in them, but there’s 5 sets of returning items popping up over the next four weeks.
You got the first after part 3 or 4 of the prize-track and then one a week, but they will all remain until the end it seems

Ugh, I’m sad. I will miss my game.. Seven years continuously but I also played for a year or two before that with a larger break inbetween. I don’t see which game can take this ones’ place after January..
It’s been a while since I’ve been here (I got a real job) but I well remember the “guess Alissa’s baby” thing for her first.
I never found out the result, lol
This was the perfect de-stressor for me after work, I’m going to have to exercise or something now.
