It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Unless it has already been suggested, as an idea, you could have a post on the first item we ever bought with doughnuts.
Mine was the Pet Shop because I love animals..
And from my first doughnut purchase my life became a Simpsons addict and an iTunes card buyer spending money on doughnuts to decorate my beautiful town.
I would not have thought I would be playing 10 years later.
I will hold great memories, and funny memories like homer yelling out randomly, and nice memories like seeing my town progress and neighbours towns progress.
I will always wonder who El Barto is… and how many times I made my characters do the same funny task 😂
I cannot bring myself to nuke my town, others have said they are, but I spent too much time, money and effort, it would be too sad.
Mine was Otto, because how could one not have him in one’s Springfield?!? 😀
Did you forget Homer’s Hammock from the training levels ?!!
( no, not counting the training level Burns Box buy, that box started in 2015 )

Mine was Hans Moleman. It was all neighbor visit donuts. i got him before it was possible to get donuts with maggie and monorail and daily challenges.

I used to be a frequent commenter here, but I stopped playing and coming here due to life etc.
I started playing in 2014, wow where has the time gone…
Like all of us, I am sad to hear of the game ending.
I came to see my town again and take a screen snap and also to come here to comment again.
Alissa, thank you for all your hard work you always put in to helping us, putting up with our ranting, complaints and and the tappers who would blame you when something went wrong
We know you will miss all of that 😂
Nothing is going to compensate the actual interaction of being in the game and seeing the character doing a visible task, or placing a building or decoration, EA will take that away.
Try to stay away from your town for 1 day and see how it feels, I can’t because I have played for over 11 years.
A picture, screenshot or video won’t work the same, but we have no choice because we are a small consumer and EA dominate…,,,……
Does anyone know how to get a high quality picture of the town? I tried today but the picture came out with pixelated poor quality unfortunately.
It’s a big image so most apps pixelate the whole thing a bit.
Pick a spot on the image and zoom in and give it a moment and it should clean up
Scroll round zoomed in and give it time and it’ll keep cleaning the image.
If you wanted a poster or had an app on a device with a huge screen it should look OK
( one of my “devices” creates an image so big only one app can open it !! )
How are you getting screenshots so large like that? Mine are usually about 30megs.
There’s a way to run Android apps on a PC that EA don’t approve of
Ah!! I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve had all the land and 99% of all the new land is unoccupied. What I’m saying is that I’m ok with my appx 30meg screenshots. I’ve got too much digital clutter anyway. 😆
I just nuked my town and it still requiref 4gb to render the screenshot but the final file was only 11mb in size vs 50mb with my full town.
I required 4gb to create the screenshot with a final file size of 50mb. As Graham mentioned you will have to give it time to render while viewing.
Hi does anyone know how I can get Sara Slone to complete the set? Also got the Radioactive man statue but no Radioactive man is there something else that I need to trigger the character?

Anyone know what I need to do to trigger getting Johnny Tightlips ? I tried getting every casino I could but still nothing to make him pop up in premium, only Plato’s fountain shows up but not the actual casino itself.

Been trying to build my monorail but can’t seem to get any straight track bits, I keep getting curves and short pieces.
Has anyone’s game glitched? I have characters stuck on one job.
It’s probably an old Send Springfielders quest task.
Reload your game and see which building or decoration it happens at and store it after you collect.
You can just keep reloading and collecting until you’re rich or bored BTW.
Don’t forget to put the stored item back when you break the loop.
If you can’t store it figure who’s on the task and store what unlocked them, like Bart’s Treehouse to store Bart or Flander’s House to store Ned – use the Census at the Town Hall and look for a job with lots doing the same task.
You’ll need to collect again for that to take effect, and again remember to put the stored item back.

Is there a maximum XP bonus like there is a limit for real estate and the cash limit when it turns red?
Probably yes, but you’ll never get close to almost 4.3 billion %
I stopped at 25k XP bonus because i started having that thought. It just keeps on going. And then tried reaching maximum donuts and stopped at 2.2 million because I have a feeling there really isn’t a limit for that either. Do you know the maximum amount of donuts you can have?
Like the cash, just under 4.3 billion – but again you’d never get there.
Even if you earned enough to add a million a day it’s 4,300 days !!
( you can add almost 3 million Ds from maxed out cash, but then you need to earn it back )

I really hope EA decides to give us bonus TAPs beyond the 1 to 5 that we already received. There are many building and a few characters like mirror disco Stu that they could give us. And i really hope they reconsider keeping the servers running for this game. We don’t need new content just the ability to keep playing with the towns we already have like a sandbox or something would be really cool
Well it’s beginning to look a lot like “The End” for the game after taps 5 and it appears the addicts site as well, with some of the comments I have seen going against the rules of this site and still getting through moderation (see previous post).
Am hoping that the administrators will take some quick action to rid the rogue from this site and bring it back to the fun and informative site it once was.

I’m assuming by rogue…and I’m having a lot of fun. Typical of your ilk…don’t like the opine…ban him…lol. Did you see Hillary say if sites like instagram, X, and others allow people to say what they want, then “we’ve lost control”…look it up, it was only a few weeks ago maybe. Now that language scares me more than anything the big buffoon has ever said.

There are plenty of places where you can talk politics, but the people running this site clearly say “No Politics”!
It is their sandpit, and their rules.

Except that this site purports to have a rule against discussing politics. And, yes, I believe that any commercial site has the right to establish whatever limitations to “free speech” that they want on their site….there’s no law against that. People don’t generally come to this site to see political rhetoric…there are plenty of other places on the internet one can go for that.

Good afternoon! We’re all gonna miss TSOT out but are there any features of the game that you won’t miss? For me, it’s the following?
– The “Make Springfielders Do….” tasks (or something similar that requires a whole bunch of characters, really annoying whenever I have many characters leftover after sending all character to a specific-hour task from the Unemployment Office)
– The outdated Town Census (scrolling characters from A to Z is such a chore!)
– The amount of storage this game has (I’m almost out of space after reinstalling TSOT on my android)
Anything else?
Meanwhile, some alternate skins I’m surprised weren’t made for TSOT:
– Churchgoing Simpsons (the outfits the family wear when they go to church)
– Sleepwear Simpsons (the outfits the family wear whenever they go to bed. Marge actually had two outfits: her purple, short-sleeved gown from the early seasons and her more familiar long-sleeved pink gown)
– Red Blazer Marge (Cookie Kwan would get one too and if Gil was a playable character, he would get one as well)
– Permanent trick or treat outfits for some of the Springfield kids from the Halloween 2016 event (Lisa the witch, Frankenstein Bart, etc.)
– The Incredible Hulk Homer (“HOMER MAD!” “HOMER SMASH!”)
– Tracey Ullman-era Simpsons (already mentioned this one two weeks ago.)
Yet another obscure character missing from TSOT was the mail lady Bart argues with in Season 1’s “Homer’s Night Out” (“Where’s My Spy Camera?!”)
Well, coming to grips with reality. Abandoned Game B and focus on Game A. Moving on until the end.
Now my question is, do you Tappers have any alternatives. I know anything Simpson is out of the question, but boy , I am getting fed up with all the current games with their adds. Are there any games that can equally attract tappers?
Oof. I wish I could say “yes”, but I’m afraid the answer is “no.” I don’t know of any games like TSTO. These types of games aren’t as popular as they once were. As for other games…I agree. The gaming landscape is rather boring these days. Most games have pay walls too.
If you like Harry Potter, Hogwarts Mystery is good.
Fun mobile game that’s not as remotely good as tsto but my second favorite, with no intrusive ads? CUE cards.
Fun console/computer game that is better than tsto (the only game better in my opinion) Undertale.
I know this is blasphemous yet there was a family guy game “quest for stuff” or something that’s apparently just like tapped out.
I disagree that it was “just like” tapped out. It was very hard to play freemium.
I played a zombie build and collect game for about 6 months until it became impossible to play without buying stuff to progress
If you like TSTO, then I would suggest going into the iOS App Store and click on the “Simulation Games” tab. That’s where you will find all of the “build” games. I played “Sim City Build it” for a while, but it became too time consuming. Otherwise it was a good game you could play for free.
