It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Three only other option I’ve seen mentioned (and there was a whole article about it here) is taking a series of screenshots and stitching them together. But, if you’ve been playing a long time, that may be more work than you’re willing to put in.

I’ve decided that this Friday evening will be my final day playing Tapped Out since I’ve gotten pretty much all the characters, buildings and decorations from every event. There’s nothing left to do but nuke my town to end it. Still sorry to see TSTO shutting down.
I’m finishing up my last blast of quest lines and then likely won’t be checking into my town much. I’ve accomplished all I had hoped to, at a much faster pace than I had planned a year ago when I logged back in and started new.
I’ve got a message made up for the handful of friends who still visit me. If any of you are reading, thanks for being a neighbor! Mistabinx1031

Much like so many others on here, I am feeling the loss of the game. Between my old and new town, Tsto saw me through everything from life’s worst to most mundane. Miscarriages, other big losses, stresses, happy times, surgeries, lunch breaks at work, births, all the way down to waiting in a line too long at the store.
I’m going to miss having a place to go when I wake up at 3am with my heart racing and anxiety going full blast. It always helped me to distract my mind and relax so I could eventually fall back asleep.
My hope is that stepping back and getting used to not accessing it so often will help soften the blow when it’s truly gone. But of course I’ll check in here and there while I can!
So glad we figured out the friends connection before it ended! Thanks for adding me.

It’s pretty gloomy now as the countdown to the end of the game begins ☹️ Is anyone else having trouble taking a photo? I’ve done them in the past but now it keeps saying I don’t have enough memory but I do! I really want one of my final town before the game ends. Thanks
It takes 4gb of free space for me to take a pic regardless of how many buildings I have placed.
My iPad said it needed 16GB, I had 11 available. I needed to go into Photos “Recently Deleted” to permanently delete items to make space.
Oh…I forgot to mention the “nuke boy” comment comes from approximately 1986, 87…88 ? or so when my friends and I used to go to the local department store, it was called Zayer’s..we would just hang out there..lol, pass football, play hide and seek, turn the lights off on people that were in the bathroom…lol..l I was like 12..13..14…I remember my friend Marc and I actually sat there and watched the entire 60s Night of the Living Dead movie. They had the movie playing on their “new VHS players” on their display wood box televisions. Oh the good ole days. Now they had skateboards on display, and there was this really cool looking one that we all loved, but none of us could figure out the graffiti writing on it…it was either “nuke boy”, or “juke box “…others had different names I can’t recall. Anyway….look it up for a fun time of fact checking.

Thank you Safi and Alissa for all the knowledge and assistance provided throughout the years. I really enjoyed reading your posts and comments..and just learning a little about both of you. Safi…sensible pure soul..obviously very intelligent ..pilot maybe…and a Toronto Blue Jays fan. Alissa..strong Mother, hard working business woman, unfortunate Yankees fan.
Graham…in another life I bet we could be pretty good pals, friends, buddies. When you entered this scene..you were extremely helpful and dedicated.,.and probably a little too lenient with my posts, but people should be thankful for that. The goodness in you is easily noticeable for those who care to look for these things still. I wish you the best, mate. Try to lessen the inebriates for health purposes..it gets worse.
Sandra…another good soul. I wish you and your Mom the best of health and good fortune. Take pride through the struggles in caring for your Mother. Unfortunately there is not enough compassionate people in the world that would do the same..this is definitely a quality individuals should strive for in order to benefit society and their own mental health. You and I have extremely different opinions on things, but there are some core values, good hearted values that we share.
I’ll be making last adjustments to my town this evening, getting my last pics, ..then going nuke boy on my Springfield….and saying some prayers this doesn’t happen to the World the Day After Tomorrow! Lol!

I, and my town, will be here until the bitter end…. I’m still hoping to get some time to do more work on it, if/when I ever get home again. So, if you feel like popping in here from time to time even after you’ve nuked, I’ll probably still be here!
I decided to nuke my town..it’s all over but the crying..the inventory numbers were incredible…

It is EXACTLY what has been happening since the 60s, especially the 70s and 80s…now no one even pays attention…If everyone saw these first 5 mins …please…

Really gonna miss this game. It was my little refuge after hubby died. My oasis of calm during stressful months. Sigh. I hope to keep playing til the end, tweaking my town designs, but alas, my tablet may not last that long. So, for those friends I’ve visited over the years, if you’re reading this, it’s been a great run!! Thanks for the fun.

Just so sad. 😭 losing a friend to cancer, another one diagnosed, my sister who hates my guts. My game is my refuge, my little escape , my little holiday. This game is a constancy in my life and they are taking it away from me, from us. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Anyone having problems getting the purple stone after completing the singing stones event? Hate the thoughts of this game ending but without the holiday updates it’s quit boring. Wish they would release a new Simpsons game in the new year and maybe they will make one that costs more as that would be like them and would also explain why they are deleting the free version. I will be glad to get more data back on my iCloud though which would be really great. Still hate to see TSTO end.
I had the same problem, and it turns out that it was already in my town, as it was in one of the mystery boxes some time ago.
Another question LOL. How I get the characters that I don’t have yet? As I have only 694, there are about 150 missing. I bought all that appears on the “Waves” 1 to 5, including some NPC.
Using the unemployment center only shows playable characters, not NPCs. Only a few characters and NPCs are not available in the five parts.
Decided that today was my final day for playing tapped out seeing as everything has been done took a photo of my town then blew it up and have uninstalled and waiting for whatever comes next now. I’ll still keep visiting this site however and on a more positive note season 35 has now been put on Disney+ so I’ve got that to work through next.
All I need to get is Butterfly Maggie… and then I will have all event characters, pets, and animals collect… just one more check mark and the list will be completed.
I thought I still had to try to get Christmas Raccoon and Mutant Bunny but noticed I already had them in my inventory.
Hopefully then next set of items and characters.. I will get her and I will be fully complete.

Hi!! Does anyone know how to find out how many characters I have in my game?
It’s hard to count them all at the town hall.
I had about 550 and now, I bought a lot, by buying donuts with in-game money. I should have around 720 characters now, but when I use the Office of Unemployment, only 694 appear (yes, all the characters were free).
Free up all your characters and go to the unemployment office, it will tell you how many characters are available, I have 705

Go to the Unemployment office.. tap on the building if you haven’t collect income.. once you do then tap on the folder… then you will see Job Manager.. tap on that.. you will then see different times and how many characters you can put on said time.. on or two job times will have the highest amount of characters you have in the game.

The job manager says “send 24 characters on jobs” for all times. I’ve been playing for years and have nearly all the characters, but it only shows that I can send 24. Has anyone else encountered this?
Check the quests in your Taskbook :
You’ll have at least one old quest to Make Springfielders …
Until any and all of those are complete they won’t work from the UO
Thanks! I did indeed have a couple of Make Springfielders… tasks going. I used my soon-to-be-irrelevant donuts to hurry them along. Now the Job Manager shows that I have 708 characters. Is that all of them? I can’t find a definitive answer online and even ChatGPT didn’t know.
You might have a couple of recent NPCs on a group-send or location based job perhaps.
I make it 706 Characters, 244 Skins and 153 NPCs – but that may be wrong.
I just completed my Character Collection and have everything checked off.. Unemployment office says 707 for the 4 and 8 hour jobs.
Maybe check your census against this list and let me know who’s missing ?!!
Do you have a daily task that is for “Springfielders”? Most of them would have that as their primary task and, therefore, would not show up in the Unemployment Office as eligible for the others. Once you finish that daily task (or rush it for the requisite number of characters, then either restart the game or go to your friendvilles and back), you should have the other times available to send your characters to via the UE.
The Springfielders group for Daily Challenges was reduced, max. 60
That said if it’s a Make Youngsters… one then they still use loads !!
It’s the older quests that still use the Send Almost Everyone group.

Am I the only one getting ALL 12 and 24 jobs for all characters? It’s an impossibility. I now have maybe 30 quests. Finishing one just brings up another 24 hour tasks for that character. It’s NOT fun. To me, they’re wanting me to go out disliking my game, which I’ve always loved. I’m finding it useless to play. Is this happening to anyone else? All 12 and 24 hour tasks? It’s just not fun. Never thought I’d say that.
Older quests used to use those often, or a 1 – 4 – 8 – 12 and 24 hour job jo showcase them.
Now it’s easy to get Donuts pick a questline and rush so the Dialog flows and makes sense is one idea
I’m working on at least one new questline that has mostly, 4-hour tasks in it. I wish they were longer, actually, since I’ve mostly only been playing once a day (not even every day, either)! Sounds like you just hit some coincidental quests with long tasks.
I really hope that they are just planning something bigger and better. It’s a shame that it’s going away. 😫

I’ve been visiting friends lately. I login this morning and ALL my friends are GONE! What’s up with THAT??? I was on my way to return visits to Nicky Richard’s and CrankyOldguy. Pffft!
Don’t worry….they’ll be back! That little glitch happens from time to time. Try closing (all the way) and restarting the game. If that doesn’t work, just give it a little time (or a few tries).
