It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Cease and desist people, the game is ending, ended, it’s time for me to throw in the towel, I can’t go on this way, life is a mess, nothing left to ground me!!! Nothing more to keep my sanity, I need to find my karma, too many gremlins in my head…. deleting everything that’s driving me insane….if I don’t I will explode…. good by world!!!!
You spelled “bye”. incorrectly in that sentence. You wrote “by”…when it should be “bye” world…whatever that means.
You don’t find karma..karma finds you. I suggest the Bhagavad Gita..and try thinking …differently to help with the sanity.
As far as grounding yourself…I take deep breaths and wear comfy shoes outside…and slippers inside. But deep breaths usually helps best.
Try not to explode…that could really be a mess for acquaintances…either people you live with, or those that come find you.
Last note friend..things may never get better..but if you want to see…look hard…besides the Gita..try out Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy…look real hard…even ask for help to see. I promise you will be shown..in some way…and when you notice it….you will start seeing it daily…and after that happens for a long time…..the best part is that you will now know….then you’ll see…without even looking.

Hey Mike, thoroughly enjoyed your shout out to “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” as I have at least eighteen “42”s hidden in my town!
I forgot to mention…I also suggest reading “The Wisdom of Yo Meow Ma”..the Ancient Philosopher Cat. Centuries ago..ancient scratchings, found in an old cave in ..let’s say…Sri Lanka…on homage to the greatest… Arthur C. Clarke…, no one knows for sure if Yo Meow Ma was a real kitty…or an ideal….,but it’s said that if you are fortunate..and make the pilgrimage to…um..Sri Lanka…and you are able to touch the scratchings of wisdom on the sacred cave..you might hear a purr….or it might just be an arrhythmia after such a long Journey….don’t stop believing…etc…etc…

I printed my town on a site to poster size. It is the size of three pages across landscape mode with a total of 9 pages. The site i use was called rasterbator or you could also use blockposters. I provided a link to the photo so you could see an example of how it came out. I am thinking of framing it in the future.

I like this idea a lot. How’s the resolution of the printed posters? Did you just submit one of your town portraits from the TSTO town portrait function?
It is decent the print from the image we get from town Portrait. Yes, the image is from the one i downloaded from the game.

No. There won’t be any more updates, which is what’s required to get snow.
Can’t open the game. Starts off saying it’s downloading updates,
Then it states it can’t download updates because there’s not enough space on my device — 90 GB isn’t enough.
I guess I’m out of luck.
Anyone else having a problem getting into the game? Got that annoying verification thing, and when it gets to emailing me the code, I don’t get an email. Really don’t know what to do as assume no one will be supporting it any more, and hadn’t yet taken my final picture of my town as was still doing final remodelling 🙁
I had to reverify just the other day and I got the email with the code. Maybe just try again? Also, if you use Comcast email, it can be very show too send verification code emails sometimes….like they can arrive 45 minutes later! 🙄

Got that too and then I got the code my town didn’t exist any more, support has stopped too.
With Tap 5 completed, I finally completed every character/alternate skin mission provided in the game (except the ones that weren’t available for some weird reason, such as the two founders). I’m missing about 5-7 characters or alt. skins.
All that is left is to max out my cash total and redesign my town to make it look more respectable instead of a giant mess, though I’ll probably uninstall the game sometime before the end of the month/year instead of the game’s last day of 1/24/2025. I also wanted to take a final picture of my town but I don’t have enough disk space. (I need over 15 GB of free space and my Android only stores 32 GB and I don’t feel like uninstalling the other apps/games that I currently use)
EA has really mailed it in regarding keeping TSOT fresh in the past 5-7 years. I uninstalled roughly 4 years ago and after reinstalling the game this year regarding the news of the game’s impending shutdown. With so many characters added, it takes over 20 minutes to collect every XP & cash and I hate repeatedly tapping every XP & cash icon whenever I want to tap a specific character or building. EA should had found a way boost up the speed of collecting XP & cash. Plus, there was no attempt to overhaul the Town Census or spicing up the repetitive 4-hour chore-like tasks (I remember when character tasks and events were much more interesting, even the ones that weren’t executed properly).
Also, too many clone characters as separate characters instead of alternate skins. For example, elves Milhouse and Nelson are separate characters from their regular counterparts yet the elves Bart, Lisa and Moe are considered alternate skins for their respective counterparts. Very inconsistent! I’ve said this before but I’m still annoyed Maude Flanders never got her human form as an alternate skin though knowing this game in its current state, they probably make her a separate character from Ghost Maude.
On a side note, I noticed a grammar error regarding Mindy’s 24 hour tasks. It’s displayed as “Ride HIS Motorcycle” when it should be “Ride HER Motorcycle”.
This will be probably my final message regarding TSTO. I want to say a final thank you to the TSTO Addicts crew for all the tips and tricks of how to navigate through this game. The donut farming was really helpful during my first go-around of this game. Would had given up on the game a lot sooner had I not learned about that technique.

Kinda looking forward to the end / game completion. Almost built my town with everything and everyone I want. By the time it all ends of been playing one year and I think that’s enough for a continuous play. Be nice to play other games lol
I deleted my game today – almost cried.. Took a full shot of my whole town, like I am sure many of you have done. Could we make an album here on the site remembering our towns? Or will it be too server heavy?
I love WithcyWoman1416 comment! We should all write EA asking them to let us keep our lands as is. We spent real money on them so technically we bought our towns. They don’t have to manage any of them and we get to utilize and play our favourite game. This has to be possible with the technology out there. Who’s with us! 👍🏻
Spending real money didn’t “buy” your town, anymore than you can keep Netflix from removing a show or movie from their catalog, just because you pay to subscribe. Think of it more like paying rent on an apartment and your lease is up and won’t be renewed.
As for the other part, there’s been several petitions (including one that I think was fairly popular), but I don’t think that moved the needle any. There’s a rumor that this all has to do with the a company-level sale and/or licensing issues….you can search the comments in prior posts for more info.
I, too, will be very sad to see my town to, but it’s time to move into the Acceptance stage and make good use of whatever time is left.
I think imma blow mine up to a big picture and make a puzzle out of it. Theres gotta be a company that could do that
Anybody know of another game we can play that is similar to Tapped Out?
Netflix just launched “Squid Game: Unlesshed”. It’s not like TSTO at all, but it is quite fun. Especially if you liked the Korean drama or the American reality show.

Odd, because I have 90 GB of free space.
Bad news Tracy there’s no more updates, game not available from download sites, the game will end………..
The game is telling me that I need to update!

I’m missing six characters or skins and then I’d have everyone that had been released. I bought the singing stones, but there’s one missing (7 instead of 8, so can’t complete that task) I’m also missing the copyright lawyer, so that’s another one I can’t complete.
That wasn’t what I was asking for, but you can contact EA and they sometimes will give you any missing characters or items for your collections.
I hate that the game is ending but it’s been fun just going nuts buying all the items with the thousands of donuts I’ve been able to collect. I really wish they’d let us keep our lands so we can just play around, remodel, and whatever. I’ve been tempted to blow it up and redo my land with all my building but too afraid I’ll lose stuff.
