I’m trying my best to get through the list of those that signed up for the video showoff. It will likely look different than the first video we put out. Time and schedules are not in our favor. Which is unfortunate, but also why I stepped away from the full-time running of this site 2.5 years ago. So hopefully it doesn’t come as a surprise to many of you. I’ll do my best, but it may not be in the manner either of us would like.
However, beyond that I had a few folks reach out asking if we can display their town in video. Unfortunately, there’s just no way I can add to the already long list and accomplish it all before the game is pulled from the stores on Friday. HOWEVER, YOU can send me a video of your favorite parts of your town and we (at the very least Safi and I) will put together a video of these towns and do our best to comment on them. By you sending us videos of your towns, we’ll be able to do the video and commentary even after the game is pulled from the stores. So it gives us a bit more flexibility.
So find your favorite parts of your town and send us a video of it, preferably no longer than 3-5 minutes (if it is longer, note we’ll likely edit for time). You can send the video to TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com or put a link to it in the comments of this post.
Patric will have a post up this week about how to do solid and high quality video of your town…but just for a quick explanation of how to do these:

Here’s the instructions for iPhones and Samsung, since they’re the two most common. If that’s not the phone you use, if you google your phone brand and model with screen record, instructions should come up.
Please also note this site will remain live even after the game is shut down on Friday. We’ll continue to keep this active as an archive and I’ll try to get some posts up with sounds of TSTO, and maybe even some of our favorite animations even after the game is over…as my time allows.

11/20/2024 was my last log on and screen capture. File too big to send via email. Really feel like mine was top tier organizes, clean, and canonical (no Vegas, Japan, Future, Clash of Clones etc stuff in my town). RIP

It loaded for me this morning so I think we now know the answer to the conflicting data of ending access until or after? I will miss going into my pocket-sized town…moving buildings around, visiting neighbors who’ve long since stopped visiting, going through mindless carbon-copy events time after time after time, playing the “find the building that Maggie is on” game, completing a round at rail yard… and visiting my Costco/Lard Lad donut factory and tapping on my donut machine friend! Ahhhhhh… I’ll miss this wonderful time-suck and all of you. I wish, even with no updates, they could just have left the servers on so we could “go through the motions” whenever the urge hit. Sadly…all we can do after today is play any videos we made of our pocket-sized little towns… take care TSTO Addicts!
Thanks Patrick for recordit. At least I can watch the videos of my town when I will miss it. I took plenty of still shots as well might do a collage of some kind. Even if they don’t correspond. It carried me through hard times too. It was the highlight of my day. I wish they kept it going. I will never play this kind of game ever again as it’s heartbreaking when it ends.

Hi!
I wanted to share my Springfield highlights, little background, I downloaded the game just after it came out, I suffered a few restarts the first months but then from 2012-2025 I have played constantly with maybe two or three month that I stopped between the years. It is literally just a little over the half of my life that I have been playing this game, and even tho that my city took 8min long video to tape all of it, I tried to shoot a quick one(4m), trying to remember the highlights, I probably forgot about some but it is ok.

I know that the game isn’t nearly as good, but I’m hoping with the shutdown of Tapped Out, you guys can start up on Family Guy, and we can have a Family Guy Addicts as a branch off.
Um we have family guy addicts. Well I do. I’ve owned that site since 2014 when it launched. That game is also toast and has been for awhile.
Is there anything even close to what simpsons was for us? World building/customiing/etc? I don’t find anything even remotely worth playing…help?
I haven’t explored to see. Tsto was the only game app on my phone (much to the annoyance of my children).

I play on my Galaxy Tab A and it doesn’t appear to have any recorder options.. I might just point my phone camera video at it and scroll through my town lol

Anybody know how to video off an iPad? Not sure if my town will be ready by then but trying real hard to finish my town.
Use the “RecordIt” app from the app store. It’s free. It Works. It’s Easy to use.
No extra app is needed. Just swipe down from the top right to find the built-in screen recording controls and tap the record button. You’ll get a 3-second countdown and then it will begin recording. You’ll see a red button in the upper right while it’s recording…tap that to end the recording. Easy peasy! 🙂
P.S. If you Google how to do a screen recording on an ipad, you’ll get instructions with pictures. That’s what I did! 🙂

You should just be able to slide down from the right side and see a record button.
Screen recording on an iPad is straightforward and can be useful for tutorials, recording gameplay, or demonstrating app functionality. Here’s how to do it:
Enabling Screen Recording:
Add Screen Recording to Control Center:
Open the Settings app.
Go to Control Center.
Scroll down to More Controls and tap the green plus button next to Screen Recording to add it to your Control Center.
Accessing Screen Recording:
Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPad screen to open Control Center (on models without a home button) or swipe up from the bottom (on models with a home button).
Starting a Screen Recording:
Find the Screen Recording icon in Control Center; it looks like a circle within another circle.
Tap this icon to begin recording. There will be a 3-second countdown before recording starts, allowing you time to navigate to the app or screen you want to record.
If you want to record audio along with your screen:
Long-press the screen recording button in Control Center.

Many thanks to you and Safi for everything. This is such a sad parting as I have been with this game almost from the beginning. Using it as an escape has gotten me through some very difficult life’s events.
Unfortunately with the end of tsto there will be an end to the addicts and you guys will move on to other ventures, I am not looking forward to Friday and the end of the game and like everyone else who have played for a long time will miss going into there town. 😔
