Dearest Addicts:
As we approach Zero Hour, I wanted to pop in with a “Thank You,” then realized there aren’t words sufficient to express what you’ve done for me over the past 10+ years. That won’t stop me from being verbose – as is my nature – and for that I apologize up front.🤣
When I first started playing I wasn’t sure about this “Add Neighbors” thing, and then I hit the dreaded “Easter Basket Bug.” I searched for help, and up popped “TSTO Addicts -All Things for Tapped Out.” Google wasn’t kiddin’. I posted my questions and DID get answers fast, but I
also received kindness, insight and support. That – more than my enjoyment of the game – made me want to keep playing. Thanks to “Addicts” I quickly went from sad Noob to seasoned player. And I found the best neighborinos I could have ever dreamed of, many of whom still visit a decade on with nothing in it for them but a “Hi-ya.” I will miss them like Dorothy misses the Scarecrow, and I will never forget them. (Though, like an award speech, listing a few would leave someone out!😵💫🫣😄)
And so…a simple “Thank You” will have to do, to all the Mods past and present. But here I do have to single someone out: Alissa. From my day one to whatever goodness knows day I’m on you have been there, through all your own personal hills and valleys, stalwart and true. That is no small feat indeed. And – thanks to the strong through-line of Moderators, and their vision and commitment – “Addicts” has proven something amazing: that in an era of incivility and intolerance a website can not only survive but THRIVE on the ideals of respect, kindness, gentle humor and generosity of spirit. What a beacon in the wilderness of the WWW.
That’s it, and not near enough. Ah, well.

After playing almost daily for the last 11-12 years I was so sad to be losing the game but found comfort in sending most of my characters, trying to keep families/couples together as much as possible, on one of the following tasks:
-Kindling Store, with Jesus included
-Night at the Theatre, with God
-Dance with Senior Burns with MMG Jesus
-Learn by Fun with Baby Jesus
Other characters were sent on tasks along with various religious characters on one of the following tasks (again keeping families/couples together as possible):
-Parenting Seminars, Cider Mill, Go Skating
All remaining characters/NPCs were placed storage.
I especially wanted to keep the Simpson family together in the same building and was able to do so by sending them all on tasks to their home with Bart on task as Daredevil Bart.
I also took screenshots, made a video, downloaded game to Zip drive and am hopeful the game may be revived sometime in the future—all of which makes it easier for me to close the door on ‘my sweet little town’.
Throughout the years I am so grateful to have had Alyssa, Wookiee, Bunny, Patric, Safi, Graham and the entire addict community for all the info, tips, videos and time spent on helping us build our towns in this most remarkable game. Than you all so much!
Back when they announced the end of the game, I decided to nuke my town and spend the last months rebuilding it from scratch. Well, I ran out of steam and mostly lost interest about a month ago.
Just wanted to come back and thank the TSTO Team and all of my fellow visitors for making the game even more fun over the years.

Yes – it’s always been a very low-res capture, unfortunately.
I wonder how many players are in TSTO at the moment? How many cities will disappear forever tomorrow? By the way, after the servers are turned off, the data about our cities will still be stored on EA hard drives for some time) It is unlikely that they will start formatting them right away. But this will no longer be available to us (

Well this is it. The end is nigh. I did a makeshift shoddy recording of my town last night which is at least something to remind me of what was. It’s been a great time wasting, mind numbing ride but all things must end I suppose. Big shout out to the addicts for all they’ve done for us. And I wanted to give a final shout out to some of my long term neighbors for the tags and inspiration over the years.

What to say! Except that after 13 years of Tapping I will miss it terribly. It’s very very hard. I am just sooooo sad. It has been my comfort for all these years.

But I don’t like the way I felt about the game once the announcement was made. It all felt a bit pointless.
I do think a proper send off would have been snow for Christmas, possibly even a rerun of a previous Christmas event as it seems there wasn’t going to be a new one.

That is definite for the final event quest etc, but the servers may still work for a while after that.
Use the interweb to convert UTC into your local time.
For example a search for “23:00 UTC as EST” says it’s 18:00
PS – for Sandra – just noticed your reply to my last guess on this, been on hols.
