So I guess it really is over. I was in my Springfield trying to take one final screenshot of my town, when I got kicked out. Now I’m stuck at the donut just spinning but not loading the game. 😭😭😭😭

I got about an extra 2 minutes, spinning donut of death started 15:02 PT 2025-01-24. Game went out with a wimper, no big explosion or end credits, but thank you everyone here and at EA for 12 great years.

Some of my friends have been asking are you still playing the game and I have responded that yes, I’ll play until it ends. But I never thought that it will end for real.
Over twelve years of regular playing, every day. There is going to be an emptiness for a while for sure.
On the other hand this is a bit relief too, because I have had quite regular way of playing, now I don’t have to worry that have I put all the characters to four hours task before certain time so that they are ready when I have time next time to put them for another tasks..

Can’t put into words how much this game has meant to me, and how much this hurts.
The last few days have come with an increased emptiness. Playing has been a daily routine, I can’t believe it’s over. Having trouble holding back the tears.

I am so bummed out. I blew up my town today after playing daily since 2013. I put out the Simpsons’ house and the first building I got the first time I played, O’Flanagan’s Pub. I’m going to miss the enormous waterpark shopping mall I created, my five-station interconnected monorail, my casino district, my ice mansion, Frink’s compound, my zen garden, and most of all the endangered screaming little red lizard. I’m really really REALLY going to miss this game. 😔
Came to say goodbye to you lovely folks in this community! After playing daily for so many years, it’s very sad to see it go. I’ve enjoyed coming to this site as much as playing the actual game. I hope you’re very proud of what you built here :). Smell ya later!

Goodbye & thanks for all the fish. Did my final video, running round my town, freed almost all from their tasks (mona & grandpa sitting together feeding the birds, Jesus up on his cloud casting judgement & kodos and kang drinking hillarium), then videoed onboard the monorail and finally activated all the Christmas decorations and videoed those. End of an era indeed.
I just finished taking screenshots of my town. I’m going to miss it when it’s gone.

well…if the end really is nigh for the game, I have officially released all of the characters normally bound to “permanent animated tasks” like Jesus spinning on his swing, so that they may relax and wander the town before being sunset..
So long, fair well, auf wedersehen, and good bye to TSTO…my town lay have been half built and half ‘event stuff dump’ in the end…but I still have a capture of it…even if it is low-res.

I started playing this game with my daughter when she was 12. She is now 26 and I have grown to enjoy the events. I am sorry to see it go. I truly wish they had done some big event that ended with the town exploding and a huge farewell.

Basically, yes. My phone exported a 6330 by 3276 px image (cca. 20,7 megapixels) but, in fact the town is less than the half of the entie image, and its not even a high-res render. I managed to capture it screen by screen (worked on that for days), which gave me an enormous raw file (roughly 720-750 megapixels in two parts), and that was downscaled to a cca. 150 megapixel town portrait. Its not perfect, but still cool…
