Showoff Announcement: Cthulhu’s Revenge

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time…calling all Addict Designers!  We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff, and with Cthulhu’s Revenge nearing the end, it’s time to show us what you’ve done with all the new stuff!   This time around I want to see what you’ve done with the Cthulhu’s Revenge items! (You know…the Oyster Table, Cemetery, Lighthouse, and Statue…you can even throw in the M’nthster items! (old and new))  So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!

As always please remember to limit it to 1-2 of your favorite areas/photos…we can’t show your whole town, unless you want to send in your entire town via town portrait.

So use this time to polish up your town and show us how creative you can be!  Send in your Cthulhu’s Revenge inspired designs (by 8pm ET Tuesday, October 8th) and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post featuring your designs on Wednesday, October 9th.

Remember, your designs can be anything and everything Cthulhu and M’nthster

So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8pm ET Tuesday, October 8th, can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.

You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com.  We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.

Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots.  We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images.  Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too).  We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two.  If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week.  You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page.  We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme.  Remember, this isn’t a contest.  There’s nothing to win.  It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts.  🙂

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images  in the Comments below or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)

Build A Better Springfield: Welcome to the Neighborhood

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

These days TSTO seems to be all about the downtime.  That dreaded word so many long-time players hate to see.  Let’s face it, these days even when there’s an event (or mini-event) going on there’s still LOADS of downtime in TSTO.  It’s funny because we used to crave downtime because the events were so intense we wanted time to figure out what to do with the items.  With event tasks becoming more mundane with every update, it can leave some Tappers frustrated at the shell of what TSTO used to be.

This game used to spark ingenuity, creativity, and fun with players.  If we wanted a design, or particular “look”, in Springfield we had to think of creative ways to make it happen, as we weren’t just given the item.  Things like drive-ins, parking garages, skyscrapers, and more…now they’re a staple in the game, but “back in the day” we used to have to come up with creative 3D designs to make these ideas come to life in our town.

It’s time to go back and see if we can reignite that creative TSTO spark for many of us…and bring back the reasons many of us fell in love with this game in the first place.

Over the next few weeks (or months), as time allows I’m going to be going back into our archives and breathing new life into design posts from 5-6 years ago.  Ideas to get the “creative juices” flowing.  Or, as Patric might say, this is my own version of DID…
