Final Thought:
Premium or Freemium:
Honestly, I had a hard time finding cons for this one.  Really, it’s a decent buy.  She comes with a fun little questline (which I would wait to do until the Event is over) and earns Event currency.  Really the only downside is no one uses the building it comes with.  But this is one I would seriously consider getting if you’re premium or freemium…

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell I’ll probably be picking this one up.   However, this IS a limited-time item.  So if you’re thinking about getting her make sure you make your final decision before the event is over.

Here’s a look at Lucille’s Tasks:

Task  Length  Earns Location
Take Care of Children 1hr 1 ico_xmas2015_soother_lg 26xp Outside

  1. I’m thinking of getting the bear cave, but does it pay out event currency? I like how it looks but apparently there isn’t much animation so I’m still on the fence. Some people are speculating that the bear sleeping is only for the winter and the animation will change in the spring, but is there any actual indication (in the files) for that?

  2. I just had to have her! Such an iconic character and her tasks are hilarious. ..very quickly becoming my favourite purchase ♡

  3. I snapped her up immediately (which was super easy to do as EA has been so generous with bonus from the weekly challenges from Halloween and the first two acts) .

Love her, love her classic episode, love the nostalgia…basically I’m so enamored with this character I just *might* try to find her IRL and try for a Bonnie and Clyde thing… 😀

  4. Got her instantly, because I loive the episode she’s in. And I don’t regret it. Her Outside-Tasks are great and the Questline ist kind of funny too.

  5. This is a classic Simpsons episode! I think I’m going to go ahead and buy it now! YES!

  6. Did I miss Gil’s Donut Deal where you get extra donuts with your purchase? I know he had one last Christmas and I’ve been waiting for this year to re-stock. Any idea if there will be one?
    Thanks!

    • Nope, wasn’t one this year

      • Ever the optimist (and cheapskate), I’m still hoping for one…I have some Amazon gift credit saved aside for getting donuts, but I want to try to maximize my return like I did last year by getting the in-game sale, the discount on Amazon Coins, and then the Amazon Coin rebate when I actually buy the donuts.

  7. This was a no brainer for me. I’ve been hoping for Ms Botz since I started playing 2 years ago, so I bought her the instant she became available. Not only is she a great price, she earns event currency, her animations are hilarious (even just walking around town…), and she uses Calmwood! I love having older characters in the game. Now we need Bleeding Gums Murphy.🎷 A Lisa-centric music event would make me sooooo happy!

  8. Wasn’t sure if i should buy her but I just had too, I’m a sucker for any kind of unique building especially one with a unique character (and Lucille is definitely unique lol). And now that I see this post I’m really glad I got her.

PS Thanks for writing the “Should I buy…” posts, they really come in handy 😊

  9. Luann or this crazy woman? What should i do alissa?

    • That ones tough…i’m a big fan of Luann. How many donuts do you have? If you buy Lucille will it put you in a big hole donut wise? Or would you still only have a few to go for Luann?

      • I am a freemium player and only have 148 donuts so i have to choose between one of them, i think i will buy luann but i havent make a decision yet

        • Luann also unlocks fleet mobiles which help with your gluttony rating. And they are easier to place than krustyland burgers. So if you care about rating, Luann might have the edge. And she might be a little more likely to be involved in future events, like she was for the past Halloween event…but it’s pretty hard to predict which characters EA picks for events. Neither is voiced, which is always a negative for me. I admit, this is actually a tough decision.

    • Both have great outdoor tasks and Luann unlocks a premium 8 hours task for Kirk. Still, I would say Lucille, as Luann will still be available after this event.

      • The problem with event specific characters is that there will *always* be more then enough of them to eat up all of your donuts… so it’s hard for us freemium players to keep up, especially if we haven’t been playing for as long as some others. This is by design, of course… they *want* you to *want* to spend real money on the game. There’s nothing wrong with that, per-se… it just means that for freemium players, we frequently just have to pick a favorite, and move on without looking back.

Oddly enough, I ended up passing on Lucille myself, in favor of Professor Frink. (I’d already bought Luann during the Black Friday sale.) I don’t feel any particular regret over the choice, because I’ve honestly wanted Frink since I first started playing… but I’m sure I’ll also be passing on plenty of other event specific buys, because I still have yet to buy Barney!

    • Get Mrs. Botz, ‘cuz Luann will always be there!

  10. She looks so funny amongst all the updated characters! I’m glad I have her.

  11. If you’re not logging in to Tap enough during the day? Then buying Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers Babysitting Service Building is In your best interest (this Long Time Tapper has enough Freemium Characters and Buildings from Xmas Event 2015) 🙂

  12. I did jump on this since I love the early episodes. I like her animations but I don’t love her anywhere near as much as the snow globe I gave in on. It is one of my favorite things I have purchased with donuts. I’m even going to use it in the summer, I know it lol. It’s AWESOME! But I also have all the characters available to use with it.

I have a soft spot for the bandit since we have the first ten seasons on DVD and my kids were obsessed when they were younger. Good times. 🙂

  13. I am a mostly freemium player, so it takes a lot to convince me to spend my hard-earned donuts. As soon as I saw her, I remembered her from her episode on The Simpsons. I loved her character on the show, so I bought her immediately and I wasn’t sorry – her animations in the game are hilarious! I am a bit disappointed that she isn’t voiced, though. Penny Marshall provided her voice for the show, and it was so funny.

Has anyone bought the Bear Cave yet? Does it give event currency or spawn additional bears? It’s driving me crazy that there is no hint at what it does.

    • It’s a decoration. It sits there. Don’t waste your donuts.

    • I literally just bought it and it does come with a questline for Maggie but she’s busy with the event so I haven’t sent her yet and I really didn’t check to see if it pays out or has a bonus or anything. Guess I really don’t have an answer, Don’t know why I spoke up. But it looks great next to the falls.

    • It does absolutely nothing unfortunately. There’s a bear sleeping in the cave but it’s not even animated and no payout. I really thought it’d come with at least an NPC bear but nope. I built a zoo so I was already planning on buying it so I’m happy with it, but if you’re looking for a big benefit event-wise then I’d pass. However I am hoping the bear wakes up in the spring 😊🐻

      • I really want this for my campfire area but for that many donuts I’d want the bear to be tasked like Stampy or Mr Teeny. If the bear carried Maggie like in the wilderness episode I’d be all over it. I don’t think it’s worth the donuts but I’m still considering it.
It is a very nice addition to your zoo Ciara, which I spied even before your post when checking out what my Neighbor-eeno’s were doing with all the new event buildings (seeing if the slide factory was a must-have for me. It’s not.)

  15. Freemium dilemma. I have 173 saved up. I was saving for Disco Stu. Jump on this, or continue to wait?

    • Personally I think the bandit is better than stu, but that’s just my opinion

    • You missed out on getting Stu in the sale?

    • Take a coin and assign one decision to heads and one to tails. Flip the coin. While the coin is in the air, notice how you’re hoping it will land. Then, disregard how it actually does land and go with whatever you were hoping for.

If you find that you’re totally not hoping for one over the other even a little, then go with the BSB/RBBB, since that’s a limited-time combo and Disco Stu isn’t.

      • Haha, Sandra, I can’t tell you how often I do this for little decisions!! After a few times, it stops working (for me, anyway) and then I’ll take a break for a couple of months. But the first few times, it’s a great little brain trick. 😉
Question for you: we talked about tv shows a long time ago, and I can’t remember if you said you watched Frasier or not, but if so, is that where you learned this little trick?

        • Oh, I’ve definitely watched Frasier – all of the episodes many times each. Don’t remember if that’s where I got the idea from though…

    • Just one reader’s advice here:
Jump on this one!!! I’m a premium player, but I was freemium for months when I first started, so I still appreciate the freemium dilemma. I didn’t hesitate a second to buy her. Forget for a moment that she pays out event currency and just look at the pros of this one. She’s an iconic character from season 1, and EA has a tendency to release characters from more recent episodes, so that in and of itself is a plus. (I’m noticing that lately, they are bringing back older characters, though, so I’m pretty excited about this trend 🙂 ) Her animation (just walking around town!) really makes her stand out from all the other Springfielders, and her one and 4 hour tasks are delightful to watch. (SPOILER ALERT REGARDING ANIMATION: her one hour task has her jaunting about town carrying 2 suitcases, one of which falls open to reveal some, um, precious cargo, lol, and her four hour task has her disguise herself as a lamp with a shade over her head and then as Charlie Chaplin, complete with bowler hat, mustache, and cane. END SPOILER.)
As a fan of the Simpsons since episode one, she’s an absolute must-have, in my opinion, and she has without a doubt become my favorite addition to SF. And I don’t just say “favorite” because she’s new- new and favorite don’t go together for me like they do for some people.
If you’re on the fence, I say snatch her up, and quickly (since she does help with the event currency). She’ll also only be available for a limited time, and Disco Stu will be around forever. With EA making it increasingly easier to earn free donuts (via tapping friends’ towns if your FP is maxed, the rail yard, Maggie’s new game, and weekly bonuses during events), you’ll be able to earn donuts for Stu quickly enough. 🙂
The only cons I can really think of are either not wanting a character in your SF who definitely stands out, or being a fan of Simpsons episodes in later seasons versus earlier seasons thus preferring to save your donuts for more “current” characters, and those are just personal preferences. 🙂
Good luck in making your decision!!

      • Seeing posts by people who don’t know who she is makes me feel so old

        • Lol, agreed, Ryan!!

        • Oh, I’ve been watching The Simpsons from the Tracy Ullman days (and I wasn’t even a kid then), but I guess that particular episode didn’t stay etched in my brain (and, for whatever reason, isn’t one that I’ve seen multiple times, like some of the others).

So, it’s really not just a matter of age and you can stop feeling old (or at least not because of that). 😉

          • Hearing you kids talk about Tracey Ullman makes me feel old, she was in a sketch show called “Three of a kind” on English tv before y’all ever heard of her 🙂
            🐻 🎈 🍩 🙂

    • you can get stu anytime in the future.

    • I have both. Love Lucille Botz. The only upside is Stu can do do a task in Springfield Heights? Like them both.

  16. On a plus.. the rubber baby buggy service can be placed on the squid port.

  17. Metal Hospital! Yeah! Rock n roll!

  18. Con-super creepy character that I don’t want walking in my town.

  19. I have been waiting anxiously for her. I really love the way they use the original animation style. Great character!

    • Yeah, Season 1 was totally fine, and that episode (Some Enchanted Evening) is was just after the introduction of Sideshow Bob.

  20. Her animation is GREAT. And it’s kind of fun that she chooses different houses to rob. It was a no brainer – first lower priced building/character combo in awhile. Plus event currency.

  21. Bought ’em on 1st sight. One of my favorite characters of all time. She totally takes me back to my childhood right along with “Do the Bartman!!”

  22. Kim (kimberlyah794)

I was certainly planning on buying this one (how could I pass it up and the classic episode it reminds me of?), just hadn’t done it yet. Now I’m convinced! Will be getting it today.

  23. I need to see her in one my neighbors’ towns before I can decide. I don’t think I like the look of her and have no memory of her, but her building doesn’t look bad, it’s nice to have premium characters, many folks here have said she had some great animatios, and the price isn’t very high.

But I’m guessing I won’t end up getting her, since I have things higher up on my “want” less, but I’ll have to keep reminding myself of my rule not to buy items just to help with even currency and not to let myself get franticked into buying her just because she’s a limited-time item.

    • No memory of her? that’s a shock, 😨
even the foreigners over in Europe know this episode

but I did like your coin toss idea, 🙂

  24. I am mostly freemium. Very rarely buy donuts and, usually wait until a Gil Deal for that. That said, having been given so many free donuts in the last couple of events, I considered this a no-brianer. I prefer to buy buildings that come with a character and, considering that this is a cheap building/character as well, I bought it the first day. Don’t regret it at all even if the character was only in a few minutes of the Simpsons lore…

  25. I bought this a few days ago just for the heck of it. She walks creepy.. but I do like the Avoid Springfield PD task. Makes me laugh..

  26. Forgotten Pro: Her animation is great.

I was reluctant to get her until I heard of her (ec) event currency payout and then jumped on board.

If your ever thinking of getting her in the future and you have the donuts – now is the time to take advantage of that EC. Now I know people will say “EC is EZ(easy) to get” but I want Garold sooner than four days later (or whatever).

Now if there was a better way of saying R.B.B.B.B.Service… RB4 Service? Or just Babysitter Service.

  27. As a freemium player I’ve been waiting for her and I have enough donuts so I’m pulling the trigger.

  28. Bought it right away. No regrets. Classic Simpsons character/episode stuff.

Totally unrelated question: Did EA ever make the money mountain able to be changed, like the IRS building, Reindeer food truck, Radioactive Man attraction, etc?

    • Just recently finished my money mountain thanks to all the wailing walls I got at Halloween. No it does not change its animation yet.

    • I think Money Mountain isn’t changeable because of Burns’ animated tasks on the full version.

      • that actually makes sense, though i’d trade the monty moneybags skin and those tasks (both of which i never use) just to get my construction crane back….

  29. I’m torn on this one because I want to buy a certain baby Bouvier and I only have 195 donuts…
She’s s great price and I love her building so I’m very tempted. I’ve seen her in one of my neighbours town and she’s pretty cool.

  30. Well I was on the fence about this one. And now I’ve convinced myself…to not get it. You’ve outlined some excellent points in favor, but the fact that I’m still not sold means I just don’t want her that badly. I’ll save my donuts for something I really want. 🍩😀
